The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 93 - The Meeting of Returns

My son didn't give me a minute for myself. He really took advantage of his day off by inviting me and Dira to do activities together. We swam, we made masterpieces, we drew pictures, we watched one of his papa movies, and now he's sleeping after he's exhausted. Dira and I fell asleep at his side.

When I woke up, my two children were still fast asleep by my side. I sat down and came out of the living room with a sag. I don't want to wake them yet. I used the opportunity to shower, change clothes, and do a little makeup. It's good to take the kids to the playground near the house. This afternoon there are a lot of kids their age playing there.

I was just about to get out of the room when the door was knocked. Yuyun escorted both of my children who had woken up. I asked Hadi to take a shower and change his clothes. He cheered happily as soon as he knew our next plan. I helped Dira to take a shower.

Hadi walked into Dira's room and I smiled seeing her keep her word. She can shower and change her own clothes. I helped straighten her hair with my fingers, then gave her a kiss. Dira also asked to be kissed, so I clamped her plump cheeks with my lips. She laughs. Still can't believe it feels like I have a daughter who looks so much like me.

There was a roar of a car engine in front of the house as we stepped on the last steps. I was stunned for a moment. Who's going to the house? No friends or family would tell them they would come. Is that not Dicky? But today is Saturday, not Sunday.

Abdi hurried to walk from the back of the house to the front door. He opened it and my heart almost stopped seeing who was standing in the doorway. Time seemed to stop because he had not changed at all. Still handsome and dashing. Just one different thing. She did not look happy without the loving smile she had always addressed to me.

“Mr Mahendra?! It's great to finally see you back!” abdi said with pleasure.

“Thank you, Abdi. I'm glad to see you too. Is everything okay at home?” ask Hendra. Even the soft and deep voice did not change.

“Good, Sir. Thanks to Master, everything is fine.” From the back of the house, another worker approached him. Yuyun, Liando, Fahri, and their comrades.

“Good.” Then he looked at me. Just for a moment, then he looked towards our daughter, and lastly towards Hadi who was standing by my side. He walked over, then wiped my cheek. “Are you guys okay?” I took off Hadi's hand as soon as I realized that I was crying. I quickly wiped my wet cheek.

“Iya. We're doing just fine. How about you?” reply slowly. He looked at me for a while without saying anything.

“I'm good.” He looked towards Hadi. I felt my son clutching tightly to the shirt skirt I was wearing. He's hiding behind my body. Knowing I had to do something, I knelt down to talk to him.

“Honey, come, greet your papa,” I told Hadi.

“Papa?” tanyanya slow. He looked at Hendra's face carefully.

“Iya, darling. Papa came to see you. You remember the photos, ‘kan? It's Papa,” I said again.

“Hai, Hadi. Finally, we meet again.” Hendra stretched out his hand. Hadi looked at me. I nodded slowly, then she shook her papa's hand.

I stood up and Hendra looked towards Dira. “Dira darling. This is Papa,” I told him. He simply frowned with a thumb inserted into his mouth as he stared at Hendra. When her papa reached out to touch her cheek, she cried and hugged me tightly.

“Mama! Mama!” pekiknya fear. I immediately rubbed his back to calm him down.

“This is Papa, dear. Papa is a good man.” But Dira did not want to look towards Hendra. Both of them are hard to accept new people. It takes time to get used to the presence of people they have never met before. “I'm sorry,” I said slowly.

“You already told me, so I'm not surprised.” He looked around us. “Can we talk in the family room?” I nodded my head. Hadi took my hand and Dira was still in my arms. We're heading for the family room. The kids don't want to be away from me.

To make it easier for us to sit together, I chose to sit on a three-seat sofa, so Hadi sat between me and Hendra. She immediately brought her body closer to me as her papa sat by her side. Dira did the same. He still frowned looking at Hendra.

“They both look a lot like you.” Hendra looked at them in turn.

“Of course. I am their father.” He smiled proudly. He looked towards Hadi. “Are you okay? Mama treated you well?”

Hadi hugged me immediately. “My mom is good to me.”

“It's good. Do you like your gift?” ask Hendra again. Hadi looked towards him.

“I like. Thank you,” he said slowly. Hendra looked towards the pile of unopened gifts. He looked at me in wonder. I just shrugged both my shoulders.

“Why don't you open the gift given to you?” ask Hendra.

“Later. Today I want to play with Mama.” Hadi only looked for a moment at the gift, not interested at all to approach it.

“But you already opened a gift from me?” Hendra smiled.

“Christmas Gift from Papa the best. So, I want to know Papa's birthday present. Thank you, Pa. I like everything,” Hadi replied in a happy tone.

“If there is less, I can add any toy or book you want.” Hendra offered something difficult for Hadi to refuse. The young man looked at me.

“It's best not. He's already got a lot of toys.” I shook my head slowly. He gave us more than our deal. I won't let him spoil our son with an item that's only useful for a moment.

“Good. You guys want to go somewhere? Can I come with you?” tanyanya.

“We're going to the playground, Pa. Close to here.” Hadi looked towards me. He was so happy to remember our plan. “Come, Ma!”

Hendra was confused when we refused to get into his car. The park was only two houses away, so we always walked there. In order for them to get along soon, I held Hadi between the two of us. He still didn't want to touch his papa's hand.

The park is already filled with children using every available game. I allowed Hadi to join his friends. Where he went, I followed him with my eyes. Dira was already quite content to go around and observe the people around him. As he ran, I followed him and helped him when he fell.

Hendra asked me to let him help his little girl wake up when Dira didn't notice who touched her body. But when she saw me standing not far from her, she turned her head and saw her papa holding her. He immediately shouted to me. I knelt near him.

“This is Papa, dear. Papa just wants to play with Dira.” I'm trying to explain.

“Mama.” He hugged me and asked me to carry him. When I was standing, he turned to look at Hendra and watched. Then he buried his face in my neck.

“I remember Mama also had the same difficulties when I was their age. I don't want to be close to anyone I don't know.” Hendra touched Dira's back. “I was wrong. I shouldn't have just disappeared from before them.”

“They just need time. Once they get used to your presence, they won't reject you anymore.” I didn't want him to give up because of the kids' attitude towards him.

“What happened?” tanyakanya. I who was watching Hadi, turned to him. “What have I done to you three years ago so that Dira grows in your womb?”
