“I'm worried about you because you haven't come back yet, baby. Is everything okay? He hurt you?” ask Hendra. I looked at him with my eyes clear.
“A-I didn't meet him here. I-I'm totally new from toilet.” I don't want him to get angry and stay away from me anymore. I don't want him to get me wrong seeing Aldo here, too.
“I believe in you.” He's grabbing my shoulder. “It looks like you took my warning as an empty threat. One more time I see you appear before my wife, you will feel the consequences, Vivaldo.”
“What can you do to me? You should be careful. One report from me, I can make your company go out of business,” Aldo threatened. He chose the wrong opponent. He will regret that word. Hendra is no match.
Hendra kissed my temple. “We're back now.” I thought as he led me back towards the hall. “You all right?”
“I'm honest, Hendra. I didn't see him. He was suddenly there when I came out of the toilet,” I said trying to explain.
“I told you, I believe in you.” He repeated his sentence. I sigh in relief.
We rejoined my friends. Lindsey is joining us. Since all the seats on the table were filled, Hendra and I stood listening to them talk. My husband hugged me from behind and I held his hand that was in front of my body, not wanting in the least to be far away from him.
Zach invited me to come home that Sunday. He didn't tell me for what reason. When I checked my phone, today wasn't his birthday, Mama, or Papa. Nor was it our parents' wedding anniversary. Then why did he take me and Hendra to meet at the house?
I brought beef rendang and capcai from home for our extra lunch menu. So you don't have to cook a lot of food for us. Although they welcomed us with open arms, Papa and Mama were astonished to see our arrival.
“Lo? Zach didn't say that he invited us to come?” many confused.
“No. He left a few hours ago. Is it possible that he forgot that he invited you guys to come?” mama asked no less confused.
“Already, don't think about it. I'm glad you guys came,” Papa said. He invited Liando to bring in the food container he was carrying.
We were just sitting in the living room when the subtle roar of the car entered the garage of the house. “Ah, that's him already home.” Papa stood up and opened the front door.
Seeing Zach coming with a woman, I finally understood. My sister was so convinced of her choice that she came to bring her lover to be introduced to our parents. Maybe he needs moral support through our presence.
“Pa, Ma, introduce, my future wife, Dwi Nugraha Official,” said Zach with a blush face.
“Hai, Om, Aunt. Introduce, my name, Official.” The young lady introduced herself with a happy face. Hendra pulled my hand so I could stand up and move to sit on his lap. That way, Zach and Rasmi are alone on the sofa.
“This you,” whispered me. He just smiled.
Papa and Mama welcomed their future daughter-in-law with happy faces. Zach and Rasmi take turns answering their questions about how they met, their family background, and all the other details. Me and Hendra were just listening.
“Pa, Ma, I'm hungry. Can we continue this while eating?” ask Hendra.
“Of course. Come on, come on, let's have a dinner table now.” Papa immediately stood up and helped Mama to stand up as well. They walked to the dining table first. I looked at my husband with gratitude. I was really hungry. He kissed my lips before helping me to stand up.
Looking at Papa and Mama's response, it seems they don't mind Zach's choice of woman. The official was also very polite. After knowing his position in his family's company, I was amazed to see his humble attitude. He did not look down on me and my family who were clearly not equal to him.
At nine o'clock, Hendra and I decided to go home. I'm already so sleepy. Zach also went to take Rasmi home. The woman hugged me and promised to come to our home show the following week.
“Must or I'll have a four-eye talk with them.” Hendra approached the bed and lay by my side.
“Talking four eyes? You mean, you're gonna threaten them into accepting Zach as part of their family?” I just don't believe it. She laughs.
“Not as extreme as that. Sincerely in love with Zach, they should have been supportive. It is not easy to find someone who will love us. Your sister will be happy with him. So, as her sister-in-law, I will help her as hard as I can.” Hendra hugged me.
“Are you happy living with me?” askaku.
“Very. How about you?” He asked back. I raised my face so he could see both of my eyes.
“I'm also happy.”
The first person to come on that day was of course our four parents. Both of my mama immediately headed for the kitchen to help prepare for the consumption of the event. My friends also came to help with what they could do. Claudia and Mason look around at the busy people around them. Maybe find out what they can help.
Hendra and I agreed to wear white. It was like we were going to repeat our wedding vows. No one allowed us to help, so we just sat in the living room with our two fathers.
Right at four in the afternoon, we started a short worship event led directly by the pastor of the church where Hendra and I were registered as a congregation. As soon as the event was over, my husband and I drove the man to the porch because he had to attend another event. I did not forget to give him food.
The condition of the house becomes crowded with people who enjoy dinner while chatting casually. We deliberately opened all the doors of the room on the ground floor so that guests would be more free to sit wherever they wanted. The house does not feel crowded either. We even purposely installed more lights on the terrace for those who wanted to be there.
“Is there no gift-giving for your little one today?” claudia asked confusedly.
“Do you want to give him a gift?” ask Lindsey in surprise.
“Of course. I won't be here when the child is born. I want to be the first person to gift my first grandson's future husband,” Claudia said in a serious tone.
“Claudia, she is not even born yet and we do not yet know if the first child of our children is a girl.” Lindsey looked at him in disbelief.
“If he is a boy, then he will be the husband of second son Zahara.” Claudia clapped her hands happily. Oh, dearGod. Why does everyone expect me to get pregnant again?
“Why do you just want to match your grandson with Zahara's son? What about us?” qiana said half protest.
“Are you planning on having another child?” claudia asked, rounding her eyes. Qiana's face paled. We laughed out loud.
“If you want to give something to our son, we will accept it with pleasure,” Hendra told Claudia.
“May you like it. Have you guys prepared a room for him?” claudia asked enthusiastically. Hendra and I nodded slowly. “Thank God!” She looked at her husband.
Mason pulled out his phone, then placed it near his ear. “You can enter.”
We exchanged looks. Claudia walked out of the living room quickly. My friends followed him. My husband and I also followed them. Because cars filled the yard, a boxcar could only park near the gate. Some men took out so many large boxes and brought them into the house. Oh, dearGod. Why did he give so many gifts?
