The Untouched Heart
Chapter 124 - A Small Celebration

“Do not worry about the report to Disnaker. I will not do anything without being sure that victory is on my side.” Hendra turned off all the lights in our room, then lay by my side.

“I'm still worried. This case is not only known by the people closest to us but also everyone who followed the news event earlier in this country.” I felt Hendra's hand on my shoulder, and then he lowered the string of my nightgown. “What do you do?”

“Love with my wife.” I held his hand.

“We are talking, Hendra,” I said in a serious tone. The former secretary seemed very earnest with her intention to get her position back. I was worried about my husband, he looked relaxed.

“We can do it while talking.” How can we talk when he kisses my lips? “Ah, yes. I remembered something very important.” I growled softly because he stopped while I was enjoying his kiss. “Why did you allow him to call you Za?”

“Who called me Za?” many confused. My head is not thinking.

“Males don't know themselves that,” he replied. I don't remember Dicky calling me Za. “Good if you don't hear it. I'll take care of him later. Being your husband is not easy. I have a lot of rivals out there.”

On Monday morning, we drove Dira to my parents' house after taking Hadi away with Liando to her school. Our daughter doesn't mind playing with her cousin who is always kept at Papa and Mama's house whenever Zach and Rasmi work in the office. So, we can go quietly to Bogor.

Mr. Oscar was already waiting at the promised spot and he was sitting on the side of Kafin. We didn't talk much on the way. Hendra was busy with his phone and tablet, while I just saw the situation outside the car window.

“I was thinking, should we hold a makeshift reception as a warning of our return as husband and wife?” slowly say. I felt Hendra's hand touch my hand, making me look at him.

“What's up, baby? You're not sure that I'm serious about our relationship so need more people to know?” ask Hendra slowly. I shook my head.

“Mother don't worry. The marriage certificate of Mother and Father will be processed by my partner. Because Mother and Father are still married religiously, there is no need to hold a special event to inaugurate it,” said Mr. Oscar explained.

“Thank you very much, Sir.” I smiled at him. I looked back at my husband. “What Dicky said yesterday got me thinking. People will assume we are still divorced if we do not hold small celebrations.”

“Just let people say what they want to say about us. Our wedding anniversary is about two months away. We celebrate at that time only. For you, I'll make a great show. More than Qiana had already prepared for their silver wedding celebration.” Hendra brought my hand closer to his face, then kissed the back of my hand.

“Are we going to use Event Organizer services as well?” askaku expectantly.

“Of course. I'm not gonna let you do everything yourself. You can plan any reception you want. Don't worry about the cost.”

My mind immediately drifted far away. I don't have big dreams about marriage. Our family and friends are enough. But I have a certain mission at the event this time. I will make a wonderful and unforgettable event.

In April, the rainy season is over, so having an outdoor event is the right thing to do. We can just do it in our yard. I had imagined what decorations were in our garden. Not only me and Hendra, the kids will love it too. Then we had to invite all my husband's business associates, as well as journalists.

“Oh!” I look around us. Hendra got out of the car first, then I shifted and received a helping hand. Time to focus.

I didn't contribute much as long as we were in a room. Mr. Oscar is more talkative representing Hendra. My husband only talks when his lawyer nods his head. Some of the men I know who helped us get Dira out of the kidnappers also came to give a statement.

Those who saw the face of the alleged fugitive gave their opinions to each other when a police officer drew them according to the description. When the photo was finished, Hendra was satisfied with the results. The picture is similar to the face of the person.

“Thank you very much all of you for coming to help me testify today,”, Hendra told the men who helped us. “You must be hungry. Come, have lunch with us.” They did not refuse. Hendra invited them as the host to choose a restaurant that provides good food.

“So, you guys are sure that all those abductors are people here?” hendra asked as we waited for our order to be delivered.

“Yakin, Sir. They're thugs in this neighborhood. We often see them in action. Only one of the fugitive men did not come from here,” replied one of those who seemed to be the one appointed as their spokesperson.”

“That means he's in direct contact with the man who told them to kidnap my daughter. I'll expand the search. I'm not sure he's around this area,” Hendra said while thinking.

“Pak Irwan has sent his men to come look for the man, sir. We suspect that he is in hiding until the case subsides. But we'll find him. You just calm down. Mr. Irwan does not stay silent and will help until this issue is resolved.”

“Good. Thank you.” Hendra looked calm hearing that. I also feel relieved.

There were still things he needed to do with Mr. Oscar, I told him to leave after driving me to my parents' house. There's Liando who's gonna take me and the kids home. Hadi and Dira waved their hands along to usher in the departure of their father.

I gave Mama a few kilos of taro, then went home. I still need to continue my writing, the children also need to take a bath before their father comes home. On the way home, the children struggled to tell what they were doing with their cousins.

Hendra called and said that he came home late, then we ate without him. Before the children went to bed, he took the time to make a video call and say good-bye. Until I went to sleep, he didn't come home either. But I wasn't waiting for him.

After a grueling morning workout, helping my husband put on his tie, we rushed to breakfast with the kids. I don't know what made him so rushed. Me, Dira, and Ara were all three in my room when Hadi had left for school.

My phone shook as I was engrossed in accompanying Dira to play with her stuffed animals. I frowned looking at the name on the screen. I took a deep breath, and answered. “Halo, Aunt,” greet me politely.

“I want to see you tomorrow. Can you insert me on your schedule?” ask Mama.

“Of course, Auntie. Around two o'clock in the afternoon?” my many. He agreed, then mentioned the name of the place where we would meet. Without saying anything else, the phone relationship ended.

My heart is beating fast. From the attitude and the way Mama spoke on the phone, my feelings became unpleasant. What did Mama want to talk to me about so she wanted to see me without Hendra? Does this have anything to do with the woman you brought her?
