The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 182 - Granting of Grandpa

“Shortly. Let me go.” I'm laughing a little. The three of them fell silent and looked at me as if I was acting insane. Maybe it is. I've gone mad. “Tante need not provoke Papa's anger by saying all these things. I know that Aunt is trying to make me feel uncomfortable.”

“Come, darling. We'll pick up Kak Hadi.” I cleaned my daughter's hands with wet wipes.

“Sister! (K)us thumbs up(t) (K)akak, Ma?” his question could already mimic the sentence he had just heard.

“Zahara ...,” said Papa felt bad. I smiled at him.

“It's okay, Pa.” I looked towards Mama. “I came to want to give support because I knew that Auntie was afraid of facing surgery later. There is absolutely no other meaning. Regarding the cancellation of our vacation, Hendra's heart is here. He won't go out having fun when his parents are in trouble. That's the only reason ...”

“If you want to go, go. No need to talk much. I don't need any advice from you,” Mama said cutting my sentence. I nodded in understanding.

“Begini better, Aunt. If Aunt had said this from earlier, Auntie would not have had to hurt Papa and insult Aunt's own son. Just swear and insult me.” I dropped Dira off her chair.

“You're still talking. Go,” said Nora who no longer hid her annoyance.

“At least I speak directly in front of the person and do not play back,” reply me. She was acting and saying sweetly in front of Mama, but she had planned and done so many things that had tarnished the good name of this family. He opened his mouth wanting to say something, I immediately added, “I hope we will meet again on Monday.”

He looked at me not like it. “Why are you talking like that? You think I won't come on Aunt's day of surgery?”

“See you Monday, Aunt, Pa. We home. Come, darling.” I took my daughter's hand. Papa stands. “No, Pa. I don't want any more fights because of me. Papa is here.”

“I'm delivery,” said Papa insisted. Then I don't argue with him anymore.

As soon as we were outside the dining room, Papa asked my permission to carry Dira. Of course I'm allowing it. Maybe because he was used to seeing his grandfather's face, Dira did not scream in fear. He looked at Papa's face in confusion, but he did not refuse his embrace.

“This is Grandpa, dear. Papa's dad,” I said once again to tell him.

“(K)akek, Ma,” said repeating my words. Papa smiles.

“Currently, Dira. Ka-kek.” Papa gave her a kiss on the cheek. Dira laughs amusedly. “Zahara, did Hendra know that you were here? I was a little surprised by your arrival. Didn't he not allow you to meet us in his absence?” I'm laughing a little. “Zahara ..”

“I'm sorry, Pa. How else would you like? I'm worried about Mama.” I'm trying to defend myself. “Papa don't worry about me. Hendra will just be mad at me, he won't hurt me. Papa and Mama I'm worried about.”

“I'm fine. Just disappointed with your mother's attitude.” Papa sighed softly. “Hopefully he soon realized that the woman was just the source of the problem. Hendra's right. He's the one who's causing trouble in our family to drag on. The matter of you and that man is long gone but it is being leveraged again and using a large scale. Terrible woman.”

“Who could have said that Gista was Papa's son?” Coincidentally Papa touched on that, I used it to discuss things that were still warm. “What Papa suspects someone out there?” Papa shook his head.

“That topic was first discussed a few days ago when we, Hendra, and Nora had lunch together. I had no idea who among the four of us would suspect. Naava and Hendra are unlikely to do it,” Papa said slowly.

“I also won't spread that on purpose. I retired to enjoy old age and let Hendra hard.” Papa laughed a little. I'm laughing too. “How can I calm down when conditions like this? The media asked for an opportunity for an interview, my relatives and friends did not stop calling. This is not the old age I want.”

“No. She is a cunning woman but not a fool. He won't break Naava's trust again. He needs his support to make sure Hendra won't force him to use legal means to solve the problems he's caused.”

“Why did Papa say that? Didn't we agree to make peace? Hendra will not continue his demands.”

“Honey, don't you know your husband?” Papa laughed a little. “There are always terms and conditions that apply of each peace agreement. Have you never signed any contracts with him? When you got divorced? Hendra always had a way of making sure that he was in control. Not his opponent.”

Now I understand what Papa means. Hendra and I signed a contract to give him a child. We also had a divorce agreement. And Papa was right. Hendra always made sure that he was in control not his opponent.

I did not read the details of the peace treaty between me and Nora. Hendra signed there as my representative, not me. What terms and conditions did my husband put forward so that Nora would be prosecuted if he was found to have broken the agreement?

“Mistress, the supply place,” said the butler gave back the box I used to bring food.

“Thank you.” I accepted. Liando came closer to take Dira from Papa's arms and help her sit in the car. “See you later, Pa.”

“See you later, Son. Thank you for coming.” Papa held my hand, then placed a few pieces of red banknotes on my palm. “Buy something for my two grandchildren. Say it from their grandfather.” I smile.

“I'll take them to the supermarket. They must be happy to be able to buy a lot of snacks,” I said. “I will make a video call so Hadi can thank Papa.” directly

“I wait.”

Even though Mama's attitude towards me is still the same, I don't regret coming to visit. Papa doesn't hesitate to talk to me anymore. He even gave the children the things they used to get from their grandparents. Hadi and Dira will love him even more.

We waved enthusiastically to Papa as Liando drove away from the front of the house. I glanced at the man driving the car. He must have reported this visit to Hendra. The response was twofold, talk to me tonight or wait at home when we come home to fight with me. Whatever it is, I'm ready to face my husband.

Hadi and Colin immediately ran up to the car as we came. Will escorted us with a wave of his hand. They cheered happily when we didn't go straight home but stopped by a convenience store. Hadi and Dira scrambled to point at the snacks they wanted. I also let Colin choose.

Keeping my promise, we made a video call. Papa can see what food the children choose. He also told her which snacks she liked. Hadi and Colin, who wanted to know the taste, took the food bag that Papa meant.

After circling a special snack shelf, I took them to a shelf containing children's reading books. Satisfied to choose some picture books, coloring, also story books, we headed to the school supplies section. Hadi and Colin chose some writing and drawing equipment. After shopping, I ended the phone call.

I didn't allow them to eat anything before cleaning themselves up and changing clothes when we got home. Yuyun helped the children, then I headed for the room. Slowly, I opened my door. Blank. I sigh in relief.

It seemed like he was too angry that he did not go straight home and scolded me. Good though. I won't fight with him this afternoon either. I want to join the kids and enjoy the snacks we bought earlier.

I entered the clothing room. My steps stopped realizing that the lights were not automatically on. I'm looking for the switch on the wall near the door. In a moment, I found him. I pressed him and the room was bright. There was someone in front of me, standing with both hands crossed in front of his chest.

“Oh, God!” I jumped in surprise with one of my hands spontaneously sitting on my chest. The man pulled my hand, closed the door, then pushed me against the door. My heart is beating fast.

“We need to talk very seriously.”
