The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 198 - Breaking the Commandments

A car was parked in front of the gate with Nora standing between her car and mine. We have no more business. We never even had a reason to meet. Then why is he here?

I opened the window of the car by my side. Nora's approaching soon. A sign that he wanted to see me. Usually he behaves arrogantly by letting others who come close to him. “What are you doing here?” my question does not understand.

“We need to talk. You have to help me.” He looked at me with his eyes clear. I looked at him carefully. “I beg. I'm not leaving before you want to hear what I need.”

“We'd better talk inside. Don't be here.” I intended to close the window, but he blocked it with his hand.

“Your security officer won't let me in.” He looked towards the man who sighed softly and opened the gate even though I had not ordered it yet. “Ah, thank goodness.” Nora got into her car immediately and moved first.

“Mistress, Sir will not like this,” Liando said something I already know. “If the security officer insists on not allowing him in, then it must be on the orders of the Great Lord. Breaking his orders was a fatal mistake, Mrs.”

“Let me talk to my husband. You don't worry. If we don't let him in, he'll be right in front of us. I don't want to attract the attention of the neighbors.” I saw the kids still sleeping. “Please take the children to their rooms. I'll talk to him.”

“Good, Madam,” he said reluctantly when stopping the car in front of the house. “Mistress should be careful. That woman is not a good woman.”

“I know, Liando.” I opened the door and closed it slowly so that the children would not be surprised and woke up.

Nora stood by her car, waiting for me to walk first to the front door. Abdi opened the door and stared dislikefully at the woman. He expressed his protest through his eyes to me, but I did not respond. What's up with everybody? What are they afraid of a Nora?

I let him into the living room. After he sat down on one of the chairs, I sat down on the sofa in front of him to have the table between us. Yuyun came in shortly after and brought her some snacks and warm drinks.

“Speak,” I said don't waste any more time when we're just alone.

“I need Hendra's help. But he didn't let me enter his office building. If I had come here by the time he was home, I'm sure he wouldn't have cared about me standing for hours out there. So, I was forced to meet you,” a very confident woman. He needed help but could still be arrogant.

“All our possessions on behalf of Father are frozen. My parents' car, apartment, and jewelry were confiscated. We have no place to live now. Please, ask Hendra to come to the police station and speak on my father's behalf. All the evidence is fake,” he said in despair. I don't understand his way of thinking. Where are the sentences he couldn't understand from Hendra's explanation?

“The case is already in the handling of the authorities. No one else can intervene. Why did Hendra come there and say that all the evidence was fake? The police have investigated and the arrest of your father is the fact that the evidence is valid.” I try to give him understanding.

Does he think that all the documents can be manipulated like he did on my kids' DNA test results? Does he also think that all police officers or anyone involved in the investigation could be bribed to dispel evidence?

“My husband is not a cunning person like you and your family. You and your father are the same. You two try to run away from responsibility by throwing mistakes at others.” I shook my head slowly. “Come back to the fact that Om Nelson has made a mistake by getting involved in the corruption case. Hendra won't be able to do anything.”

“He can if he wants,” he said insisting. “And my father wasn't the only culprit. Why is he the only one who is made into a collision? All other perpetrators should also be arrested.”

“If you know someone else is involved, you can report it to the police. Complaining in front of me will not solve anything.”

Nora's face flushed. “Therefore I need Hendra's help. I'll tell anyone else involved, but he has to help free my father.”

I looked at him confused. “Why should he do that? Your father is not his father or his father-in-law. Why should he help you on those terms? Without your help, I'm sure that the police will arrest the other perpetrators involved. My husband has absolutely nothing to do with any of this.”

He looked at me for a moment, then he nodded slowly. What answers and responses does she expect she will hear from me? What I said was a fact. That's not bullshit. Hendra won't do what he asks. I don't have to ask him first to know the answer.

“Sweetest. We knew that sooner or later, my parents' family would know who I really was. That's why we've made this plan so well. Mother approached Aunt Naava to bring me closer to her son. I should have married Hendra and lived in this house with him.

“Curse anyone who has exposed our secrets so quickly that the company falls into the hands of others. The company was nothing compared to Hendra. That damn cousin being the chief director, I don't mind. The wealth of this family also far exceeds us.

“But you .. you have ruined all our plans. You are a pawn we never counted on before. Had we known, we would have included you in our original plan. And we will not fail this whole thing.

“What did she see was with you until she forgave your affair? I've never heard of a man who wasn't disgusted to see his wife sleep with another man. Especially until he returns to him like Hendra.

“Because he has taken everything from me, I will also take all of his. I'll start from you.” He pulled something out of his bag. Then move quickly near me. Following instinct, I immediately stood away from her.

“Nora, what are you doing?” I looked towards the sharp object that was within his grasp. “Let the knife down. You don't have to go this far. Your mother needs you, lest you make the mistake that put you in jail.”

“I will not be imprisoned. I know where to go so no one will find me. You must die. It was the only way to avenge my suffering and my parents.” He looked at me with fiery eyes and approached.

Maybe because he was in a flurry, his speed was moving beyond me. He swung the knife and hit the sofa behind me. He growled furiously and tried to stab me again. I immediately dodged and tried to run towards the door. My screams filled the room.
