The Untouched Heart
Chapter 133 - Let Me Handle

“Thank you, friends. You guys don't have to worry. Me and Hendra are fine. We will try our best to get through this together.” I looked towards my husband. He even kissed my lips. My friends immediately protested to have to see that scene. “Can you be serious a little?” Hendra just laughed.

“I suggest, you guys don't see that interview show. Later you lose a lot of expensive glassware your collection because it is upset made,” said Hendra. They laughed a little. “And my wife was right. Thank you for worrying about us. I don't know what we would be without your support.”

“We're friendly. Of course we will support you. You and Zahara have helped us a lot too,” Lindsey said. “Moreover when searching for the whereabouts of Clarissa, my grandson.”

“At the time of Helmut campaign,” said Qiana quickly.

“While demanding the driver of the murder of my daughter and daughter-in-law,” said Claudia who was still angry.

“Also when my husband was framed by his crazy ex-girlfriend who just got out of that prison,” furious Darla.

I smiled at their support and words. After greeting each other, the video call ends. I turned towards Hendra, then hugged him tightly. Ja. I will not be alone in facing all this. I just need to be tougher than my old self who was easily swayed.

Hadi was so impatient that morning we prepared to go to the park to see animals in the wild. Me and Hendra just laughed at her behavior. This time my husband stopped a lot longer every time an animal came to our car. He was in no hurry as on our first visit. But he did not allow Hadi to feed the animals.

Satisfied to see them from behind the car window, we headed to a place that we had not been able to go before. I forbid them to buy souvenirs of any kind because the stuffed animals they bought before still had no storage space.

We returned to the hotel after lunch. The kids are asleep on the way. I was happy to see happy faces drawn on their faces while laying them on the bed. Hendra and I sat on the porch and watched together waiting for the children to wake up.

“What news events still discuss about us?” I asked slowly, unable to hold back my curiosity. Hendra laughed a little.

“You know that a thing as big as a scandal won't subside that soon. Moreover, this concerns a company as big as Dad's. Although people are not too interested in finding news about you, they never stop telling everything about me.”

“Oh, yes? But I never read the news about you on the news site or television.” you wonder.

“Because I never wanted to confirm anything. What news would they write if I kept quiet? My mom and dad never responded to them either. The public relations department knows that they are also not allowed to comment without our permission. But our silence actually makes them not stop trying.”

“Because they're getting curious,” I said concluded. Hendra nodded.

“News that are currently circulating go viral because they have evidence that can be used as material. They hope that by doing so, they can extract a little from my life and my family which is always closed from the media. That's also why I always ask you that no one takes pictures of our children.

“We let them hunt the news. They will also be bored for a long time. Then there will be another scandal that is more interesting. Our family is forgotten.” The solution he mentioned sounded easy. I hope that works.

“Have you found out who is the mastermind who spread the CCTV footage?” my many.

“The less you know, the less that bothers your mind. Let me and my team take care of it.” He put his index finger in front of my lips when I was about to protest. “After all these problems are done, I will tell you everything. I promise.”

“We should have faced this together.”

“Iya. But it's your job to keep the kids from getting hurt because of this problem, whereas I'll avenge all the culprits.” I was trying to say something, and he kissed me. This is not fair. I don't want to be a burden to him. This problem happened because of my mistake. I want to at least help him to repair his reputation.

When the children woke up, they sat with us on the porch. After a while of sitting on his papa's lap, he invited us to dinner. I happen to be hungry too. Hendra held Dira, while Hadi walked between the two of us while holding our hands. The distance between the caravan and the restaurant was not far, so we chose to walk.

If the children knew the sin I committed that hurt their father one day, would they forgive me? That question has been filling my head lately. I wouldn't be mad at them if they stayed away from me because it was a normal response. I would be surprised if they could easily accept that fact and forgive me.

It turns out that there is a mistake that does not only hurt one or two people. My sins have hurt my family, my husband, my in-laws, and maybe someday, hurt my children. I have made peace with my family and my husband. My next mission is to make up with my in-laws and prepare for Hadi and Dira's response.

I was scooping rice on my plate when someone kissed my lips. I blinked my eyes and saw Hendra smiling. “Don't daydream, darling. How long are you holding that spoon? Other guests are also willing to take rice.” I heard a laugh near me. I turned and looked at the queue of people on my right.

“I'd rather use that way to call you,” he said casually. He just kissed my lips in public can be casual?

“I feel like everyone is looking at me right now.” I dare not look around me. He just laughed.

“Mama what's the problem?” ask Hadi who put his tablespoon on the plate.

“No problem, dear. Eat.” I rubbed his head.

“Grandma said, if Mama is silent and thinks to herself that means Mama is having problems.” He got off his chair and approached me. “And every Mama is having trouble, Grandma says, I have to hug Mama.”

“Oh, baby. Thank you.” I returned his embrace. Don't cry, Za. No cry. Maybe I was thinking too far. Hadi and Dira wouldn't hate me if they knew the evil things I'd done. They will forgive me and love me unconditionally.

That night I slept well and woke up sleepy. Hendra and the kids are still doing their jogging habits. We passed through the park, crossed the river by the bridge, and stopped just to play with the animals we encountered.

Since today we were going back to the villa, Hadi requested that we swim before check-out. So before going to the restaurant for breakfast, I put the towel and coat in the bag and let Hendra carry it.

“Mobile.” I wanted to see the clock but only realized that I didn't bring it.

“Take. We wait.” Hendra gave me the keys to our room. We never left personal belongings in hotel rooms, worried that someone would pick them up.

“No. You go. I'll be right after.” I turned around and half ran back to the caravan. The phone I found was on the bed.

“Hai, Za.” I heard someone calling my name as I was just coming down the caravan's porch steps. I looked over and saw Dicky walking with some men and women. They look at me with curiosity. “You're here too?”

“Sorry, I went first.” Wh why? Why do I always meet people I don't want these days? After Vivaldo, now Dicky?

“You'll definitely want to go to a restaurant too.” Dicky walked by my side, likening his steps to mine. He always couldn't pick up on the signal well. “We're going there too. Who are you here with?” He looked around us.

“Dicky, stop this. I'm married,” I said firmly. Hendra wouldn't like to see me walk let alone talk to a guy like this.

“That doesn't stop you from having friends, ‘kan?” he said not to give up.

“We are not friends,” I said straighten out.

“Have you forgotten that we ever shared stories about our lives that were both left by our partners?” tanyakanya. “And now you say we're not friends?”

“Sebentar.” I stopped my steps. “You don't talk carelessly. We never shared stories. You're the one who didn't stop talking about your late wife. I didn't go and listen to you because we were at one table at your political campaign event and Helmut.”

“No, Za.” Uh. He's what Hendra meant by the guy who called me Za. “You didn't leave because you didn't realize that you actually care about me.” What is this bullshit?

“I don't want to discuss this with you.” I put my feet back. He held my arm and forced me to stop my steps.

“Listen. I want you to know one thing. I don't care about your past. I also don't care if you need another man to satisfy you. But when Hendra leaves you again for not being able to meet your needs, I will marry you. I love you, Za. I promise that I will accept you as you are.”

What's he talking about? I need another man to satisfy me? Hendra who has everything, he says, can't meet my needs? What nonsense is he talking about?
