I panicked to see Hendra trying to contact Mama again because the first call was not answered. I was so worried about her situation that I forgot there was something strange when we got home. The children and Ara always ran to welcome us. But I didn't realize that.
Did both cars bother them? Is that why after we pulled over and stopped, the two cars didn't come back for us? Oh, dearGod. I hope your mom and kids will be okay. Damn mayor. What does he want from us?
“I don't remember Aliando's phone number,” Hendra told Abdi. Our butler immediately pulled out his phone and called Aliando.
“Aliando, where are you?” ask Abdi. Hendra and I immediately looked at him expectantly. “Good. Please, careful. Yes.”
“How? What happened?” I can't wait for Abdi to end the phone call.
“They'll be here soon, Madam. Liando was forced to take a detour to keep them on a crowded track with vehicles. Two cars booked them,” reports Abdi. I had guessed. Both cars must be the source of the problem.
Hendra and I headed to the front door. We waited with anxious expectation. Yeah, God. Hope they're okay. I immediately ran down the porch stairs when the gate opened and my car entered the yard.
Abdi moved first to open the door for Mama. She was so pale-faced, and Abdi helped Dira out of her seatbelt on her baby seat. Liando helped Hadi out of the door behind the driver. Ara also jumped out.
“Don't say anything,” Mama said as I hugged her. “Kids are unaware of what just happened.” I nodded slowly. I don't know how they can be so calm that the kids don't know what's going on, but I'm glad they're all safe.
Hadi and Dira immediately ran to find their papa. I'm approaching Liando. He said what happened, then mentioned the characteristics of the car that followed him. Ja. It was the same car that was following us as well.
“Rest. Thank you for your alertness today,” I said gladly.
We gathered and sat in the living room. But it was only a moment because coach Hendra came and he had to go to therapy. I did not release Hadi and Dira from my arms. They were sitting by my side and I didn't stop kissing their heads until they were feeling angry.
“Ma, already. I want to build a big ship with Captain Jack Sparrow.” Hadi broke out of my arms, then got off the sofa. He picked up one of the big boxes with the LEGO logo on his papa last Christmas. The big ship has not yet been completed.
“You mom help?” my ask offers myself.
“Ngga. I want to stack all the blocks myself,” reject it. Mama and I looked at each other and laughed.
Yuyun came to bring me an afternoon snack, so Mama moved to sit by my side. Dira was interested in sitting on the carpet with her brother. So I helped her get off the couch so she could enjoy the cake while watching her brother stack up block by block to form a ship.
“Who was this time offended by my son?” ask Mama slowly. I just kept quiet. “I know that the two cars that stick directly in your car were a man. Don't hide anything from me.”
“City wali, Ma,” I replied slowly. Mama rolled her eyes.
“What?” tanyanya did not believe. “Is he crazy? What's the problem until he does that?”
“I don't know either, Ma. His friend who conducted the investigation and concluded that the mayor was involved in the accident that my husband had experienced. Maybe because Hendra was still alive and things were getting better, he considered it more and more of a threat. Then he told people to, I don't know, harm or kidnap him. I don't know.”
“Oh, yes. I forget. She's having amnesia,” Mama said slowly. “So, the accident was the work of the mayor. Adhy also won't be able to do anything while the man is still in office. Some authorities will definitely prefer to side with him than us.”
“About that, Hendra can already remember everything, Ma. It seems like both cars are triggering his memories back. He said he was back on the day of the accident,” I said happy.
“His story is back? That's very nice. Ah, but you will face a lot of difficulties facing it later. He's not a good patient.” Mama shuddered slowly.
“Mama take it easy. He won't be able to dwell with me.” I smiled meaningfully. Mama laughed a little. “Today I am very happy. Two good things happen at about the same time. Mama came back to me, so did my husband.”
“What, Ma?”
“I know that this is a very selfish request. But I want you to give us one more grandchild. Having many grandchildren will definitely be a lot of fun.” Mama clapped her hands.
“Mama and child are the same. Hendra also still wants to have more children.” I'm laughing a little. “We'll see later, yes, Ma. Hendra is still recovering and I don't know when we can be together again, if Mama understands what I mean.”
“Oh. Come onl. I know you won't be able to let go of each other once you're both in the room tonight. Moreover, the memory of my son has returned.” Mama laughed amusedly. My face flushed automatically.
Papa came to dinner with us. She was so proud of what Mom did today. Papa who is usually strong was shed tears several times because my relationship and Mama is fine.
As a celebration, Mama proposed that we have lunch together on Sunday at my parents' house. Of course we welcome the proposal with pleasure. My mom and dad will be very happy to know this later.
Far from Mama's guess, Hendra was sleeping soundly when I entered the room. I smiled to see his peaceful face. After changing clothes, I lay by his side. I don't have to sleep alone anymore. My husband has come home, and his memory has also returned.
“Good night, baby. I love you so much.” I kissed her cheek, and hugged her body. My family is complete again.
Mama was so happy when I told her about the lunch plan together at their house. We asked her not to bother cooking food as we would bring two kinds of side dishes, while my mother-in-law brought various appetizers and desserts.
When we arrived at their house, Mama shed tears seeing me and my mother-in-law were familiar again. We adults gathered together and chatted casually, while the children played with Ara.
When it was time to eat, both my mothers worked together to clean the dining table assisted by both my fathers. We are not allowed to help them. When the food is served, we will be called to join.
“I told you, don't go anywhere for a while. You two are indeed very stubborn people,” was furious Zach, when I told him what we went through last Friday afternoon. “The man is feeling cornered because Brother Hendra is still alive and he has not yet obtained any evidence that could bring him down.”
“If only I hadn't threatened him, but back then I had to. He threatened to prolong the business of the license I filed. I don't like it when people play around with my company.” Hendra closed his lips.
“No need to learn patience. I know dealing with bureaucracy is annoying. But a smiley and patient attitude will help you a lot later. As much as possible avoid them. If you have to meet, don't make them angry. Just switch the topic of conversation in a more pleasant direction,” said Official gave advice.
“Shortly, you told me to lick?” asked Hendra offended. Official laugh.
“Be friendly is not the same as licking, Sister. Let's just say they're Ara's sister. That way, Big Brother can be friendly with all of them,” said Officially explained. I agree with that proposal.
“Not need to say anything.” Hendra covered my mouth with his hand. “I already know what you will say.” We all laughed, only he frowned.
The day we were waiting for arrived. We put the kids in my parents' house before we went to the hospital. The doctor will check Hendra's condition. I forbid the female nurse to open her bandage, and only allow the male nurse to touch my husband.
I don't care about the meaningful gaze Hendra and the doctor put on me. It's not just my husband who is jealous. Me either.
The doctor was happy to see the development my husband was experiencing. The bruise on his head had recovered, as well as the small wounds from his surgery. He congratulated her because Hendra's memory had returned perfectly.
For further treatment, he encouraged my husband to continue physiotherapy until he could move normally again. He also asked us to immediately notify if there were any complaints at a later date.
“Congratulations on your very fast recovery, dear,” I said while kissing her cheek.
“All this is because of your patience taking care of me. Thank you, my beautiful wife,” she said as she kissed my lips. “Force us, Sakti. Hope you are not disturbed.” The man just laughed.
We picked up the kids and Hadi was happy to see no more bandages covering his papa head. But Dira cried and did not want to be held by Hendra at all. We were both confused. He just wants me to hold him. What's wrong with our daughter?
