“Where are you going, baby?” asked Hendra while I was wearing my sneakers. “Why are you dressed like that?” I'm wearing a t-shirt and jeans.
“What's wrong with my clothes?” many confused.
“Aren't we just going to spend time at the hotel and not go anywhere?” tanyakanya.
“Friends invited me to shop. Aren't you going to let me go, baby?” I put on a face. She looked at me suspiciously, not believing my acting at all.
“You haven't answered my question. What were you talking about yesterday by the lake so seriously? Has something happened?” ask again.
I approached him, then kissed his lips. “I'm just going for a minute. You need anything? Sweatshirts or souvenirs for your employees?” I intentionally did not answer the question.
“You know that you can't hide anything from me, ‘right? There must be no secrets between us, dear.” He crossed both hands in front of his chest.
“You accepted the interview without saying anything to me, didn't you also break our agreement, dear?” my reply. She's speechless. I took my bag and walked towards the door. “I drop the kids. Take good care of them. I'll be right back.”
Friends were waiting next to both of our cars with drivers ready to drive wherever we wanted to go. Hendra, Zach, and Mason stood not far from us, looking at us with a look of dislike. My friends and I just ignored them. We used two cars to make our trip more comfortable.
Going shopping is just our reason to stay away from the gazes of husbands who look at us suspiciously every time we gather together. Claudia wants to discuss our revenge plan without being noticed by the men. They are too protective of us, this plan will not be able to go with their presence.
The driver took us to a restaurant serving western food so that Claudia could still enjoy the snacks we ordered. Darla chose a table that was on the terrace and not on the inside of the restaurant so we wouldn't be too tense.
They check the schedule of events they will be attending in the near future and discuss who is handling whom. Qiana and Helmut are invited to attend the seventeenth birthday event of a councilor's child which Dicky will most likely attend as well. One of Nora's cousins held a wedding reception at her hotel and I remember seeing the invitation at our house. Vivaldo.
“I could ask him to meet to talk about publishing a book about the heroic story of his life.” Rasmi gave a proposal. We looked at him with happy faces. That's a great idea! We immediately determined who was accompanying whom and what we needed to prepare.
“Why don't we just kidnap the three of them, and then we throw them in the middle of the sea? But we torture them first let them know the taste. I'll be happy to take care of Nora. No one will find their carcasses because they have been eaten by shark ikam,” Qiana said. “I can find a boat for us to rent. Husbands don't need to know this.”
Me and my friends stared at him with their mouths wide open. We never knew that he would have such thoughts to eliminate the three of them. The plan was very tempting when viewed from the reaction of friends, but we should not kill people.
“Removing evidence without a trace at all is impossible, Qiana. What if someone records what we did? Our lives may not be in danger, but we will be sentenced to life imprisonment. You want to lose the chance to see your children graduated or see them successfully pursue the dream?” ask Darla. We shudder.
“My children are small, I don't want to go to jail.” I shook my head quickly.
“I don't want to either.” Rasmi rubbed her stomach.
“No one will be jailed. The three of them we're gonna throw in jail. Even if our plan fails, at least they will be embarrassed after we show the world who they really are.” Darla assured us. He looked towards Qiana. “And we will not go the unlawful way.”
“Huh! No exclamation.” Qiana crossed her arms in front of her chest. We laughed amusedly.
“No. I'll hire a tech-savvy person to set it up. We just need to do what we talked about. Can't until there's a mistake. This opportunity only came once. If it fails, they will not believe again that we approach them without any specific intention,” said Claudia reminded.
“Duh, I'm pounding.” Lindsey put her hand in front of her chest. Me either.
“We are ready to shop, it is time to have fun,” take Darla. “Buy whatever you want, I pay.” We immediately cheered happily.
The driver took us back to the port where the traditional market was located. There are many shops that sell all kinds of trinkets made by locals or imported from the surrounding area. I just bought a cute dress for Dira, a dress for Hadi that was compatible with her sister's clothes, and a pair of jerseys for me and Hendra.
Darla gave me a bag made of webbing to see I was just buying clothes. I knew that I wouldn't be able to resist it, so I accepted it with a laugh. Claudia, Qiana, and Lindsey are best friends in shopping. We had to pull them back to the car before Darla's credit card broke.
The husbands welcomed our arrival with wide-eyed eyes. Their eyes focused on looking at our two hands full of grocery bags. Of course except my husband. He even likes to see me occasionally shopping to spend the money he gives.
“Please, dear, do not say that all these groceries are paid by your card,” pinta Helmut is clear. Qiana laughed amusedly. He glanced at Gio whose face immediately paled, understanding the meaning of the glance.
“Not ...,” says Gio slowly. He looked towards his wife full of protest.
“I love you so much, baby.” Darla kisses her husband's lips. The other husbands laughed in relief while patting Gio on the back full of sympathy.
We went back to each other's rooms and promised to meet again at dinner time. Hendra and the kids followed me to our room. Dira immediately turned around happily as soon as she received her new clothes. Hadi also jumped up happily, while my dear husband just stood by the door. He looked at me with narrowed eyes.
“Kids, papa has chosen your favorite movie. Can you help me get into bed?” ask Hendra. Hadi and Dira immediately ran towards their room. I'm laughing a little. Not long after, my husband came back and sat down on the side of the bed.
“You and your friends are planning something behind me. I don't like you involving yourself in things that could endanger your safety,” he said with his eyes set on me.
“No harm. You are overreacting.” I turned around to save clothes in the closet. But she hugged me and pulled me to sit on her lap.
“Do you think I don't know what makes you guys do all this?” whisper in my ear. I laughed amusedly. “I've read the news. I don't allow you to get involved in anything you've planned to get back at them.”
“No. You can't stop me from doing that,” my protest is loud. I tried to turn around in order to see his face, he prevented me by tightening his embrace.
“Do not until I forbid you to be friends with them because they have made you oppose my words, your own husband,” threatened him with a cold tone of voice. I close my lips. “I've said that facing them is not easy. The news did not surprise me at all. I've prepared my next plan.”
“I'll help you,” I said excitedly.
“No.”
“If you don't involve me in your plan, Hendra, believe me, I'll sit on the floor now and start crying until you say yes. Go ahead if you want to test me.”
