“Grandma Hadi won't die like my mama, ‘kan?” ask Colin sobbing. “Please Hadi. He just knew his grandmother, his grandmother even wanted to go far.” What do I think is going on? Just make me scared. I hugged and rubbed her hair, trying to help her calm down.
“Everyone is hungry. It's time for lunch. You must also be hungry, ‘kan?” ask him. He nodded slowly. “We go to the bathroom clean your face, then we get ready to eat. Okay?” He nodded his head again.
I took her to the bathroom. Hadi followed us. He helped comfort his friend to not cry anymore. Colin managed to calm himself down after I cleaned his face and they all washed their hands.
We entered the dining room and everyone was already sitting in their respective places. As soon as we sat down, food was served. I let out a sigh of relief seeing Colin eat voraciously. Losing a mother at such a young age is very hard. Moreover, he only had a father and no other relatives who gave him enough affection.
Hendra should not make it difficult for Will to get to know Gista. They are both good people. I'm sure that they'll be a good match. Will will treat Gista with respect, while Gista will love Colin like his own son.
Ah, but I concluded this too early. My age is ripe, it's only natural that I don't mind a widower who has one child. Gista was young, not necessarily he had the same thoughts as me. It could be that he wants a man whose age is not too far away, both still alone and have no past with other women.
What does he feel every day in our house? Is he jealous of Hadi who has a father and mother and wants complete parents too? He's a sweet kid, so I rarely see him complain. Seeing her fight or fighting over toys with Hadi was common, but only this time did I hear her mention of her mother.
“Why did you cry, young man?” asked Annora with a friendly smile. We were sitting in the living room after lunch.
“Grandma Hadi is sick with cancer. Just like my mom's pain. Mama's gone a long way no longer able to come back. What if Grandma Hadi also left and did not come back again?” colin said slowly. He looked at Mama with a sad face.
“Do not worry. Hadi's grandmother had surgery and everything worked out. Hopefully, during the next visit to the hospital, the doctor did not find any new cancer cells. Hadi's grandmother will live a long life,” Annora said reassuringly.
“Really? Thank goodness.” Colin looks better. I smiled seeing him. I looked at Annora and thanked her through the movement of my lips. She smiles.
“We have to part now.” Xavier glanced at his watch. “Our flight is six o'clock and we should have arrived at the airport two hours earlier.”
“Ah, yes. We also need to stop by one place to buy souvenirs. My mother can protest loudly if we do not bring typical food from here.” Annora laughed amusedly.
“Thank you for your arrival. Call us when you arrive in London.” Mama was helped by Papa.
I hugged Annora tightly. They had no idea that Hendra and I were planning on visiting together on her arrival. We have not been able to tell anyone because we can only do the departure when the condition of Mama is good and I can stay. We can't possibly let Papa take care of Mama alone all day.
After they left ushered by Sakti, I went with Mama to her room to do light gymnastics. I left her in the room when she was sleeping well. Papa was talking about cancer when I rejoined them in the living room.
“Does everyone have cancer, Grandpa?” ask Hadi innocently.
“Not everyone can get cancer, especially if his family is not sick. The important thing is to take care of your health and eat healthy food. Cut down on sweet or fast food,” Papa said. The two children nodded their heads, while Dira just looked at them in confusion. Not understanding what they are talking about.
“My mom has cancer, can I also get cancer?” asked Colin innocently.
“That you should check with the doctor. Have you been to the doctor?” Papa asked back. Colin thought for a moment.
“I've been to the doctor with Papa, Mama, and Dira, Grandpa,” Hadi replied quickly. Papa smiled hearing that. “Doctor says, we are all healthy.”
“I've been to the doctor with Papa. But it's been a long time. I'll ask Papa again,” Colin replied.
“Kids, we'd better go home now.” I carried Dira and took my bag that was on the sofa. “Grandpa needs to rest with Grandma.”
“OK, Mom. Okay, Aunt.” Colin and Hadi stood up. They hugged Papa in turn, then took their own bags.
Hadi and Colin ran to the front door that had been opened by the butler. He smiled kindly as the children thanked him. Sakti went straight home after driving Annora and her family to the airport, so we went home with Liando.
They talked for a while, asleep in the car. The road is crowded so our car moves like a snail. I took advantage of that situation to look around at the situation around us. This town hasn't changed much. I was born and raised here, but miraculously, I don't meet inadvertently with former school friends every time I go out.
How are they all doing? Are they living the same life as me? Getting married, having a new family, and facing problems in their household? Or still alone and enjoying his free life doing what he wants?
I was very young when I decided to marry Hendra. I've only been enjoying my life as an employee for a few years. It was a great experience because I could buy anything I needed with my own money. I even had a vacation with my coworkers from the salary I saved.
What's wrong with me today? Why am I thinking about my old friends? They left me a long time ago because of my decision to marry Hendra. I've got better friends. Darla, Qiana, Lindsey, and Claudia are irreplaceable friends.
“Mistress, there is a person in front of the gate.” Liando's voice broke my daydream. I looked at him who was staring at me through the front mirror. I followed the direction he saw, then sighed softly. A woman stood in front of the car, blocking us from entering. Why did he come here? What else does he want?
