They just had a first date, Will already thought about marrying Gista at the end of this year? That's fast. I know that there is no limit to when the time is right for two people who want to get married. But he and Gista had only met twice. This decision is too hasty.
“What's wrong with you guys? I am a teenager, but I am not a teenager anymore. I know what I'm talking about and decide. You don't need to be surprised. After all, you know that Gista works in an environment that brings him to a lot of money men. If I wasn't quick to make her my wife, another man could have overtaken her,” she explained.
“You just met for the second time with him. Who wouldn't be surprised to hear you suddenly talk about marriage? You better not tell him that later. I'm afraid Gista will run away from you if you propose too soon.” I gave him a warning. She smiles.
“I know, Zahara. Don't worry about it. I will read his body language as best I can. I will only propose to her if I know that she is ready to marry me,” she promised. I sigh in relief.
We continued our journey to my parents' house. As I thought, the children were already sleeping soundly when we arrived. Mama says that the three of them are being nice, so is Ara. They also brush their teeth before going to bed. They should be wearing their own pajamas.
Hendra and I took the kids to the car, and Will got Colin in his car. We say thank you and good night to Papa and Mama, then go home to each of us. Hendra remained silent the whole way home.
“So, is that what you were worried about when you helped Will get close to Gista?” I asked when we were in the room and ready to go to bed. He looked at me questioningly. “You're afraid Will will take her to his country and you'll have to find a new secretary.”
“Iya. The process of finding a deputy secretary was much different from that of the chief director. I don't want to go through that process anymore. Gista had only been working for two months, still in the training stage. He has not yet fully occupied the position as a full-time employee. Just imagine if I had to find a new secretary again and wait until he got used to the rhythm of my work.”
“Hm ...” I approached and hugged her body. “It must be hard to get a secretary who can stand your harsh words and your impatience in completing any new project. Yes, it will be difficult to get women as tough as Sherry and Gista.” She laughs.
“Why did you name my former secretary?” tanyanya. My ex-secretary. Why should he call the girl's position parallel to mine as if she were his? I don't like that.
“Do not call anyone by my word. My secretary, my deputy, my employees, especially when what we're talking about is a woman. I don't like it,” I said without covering up my annoyance.
“Wah, well, my wife is jealous?” He kissed my forehead while laughing. “Alright, my dear, my wife, my love, I will not mention anyone else with that word again.” I smiled with satisfaction.
“About Will's plan, don't you think he's in too much of a hurry?” askaku.
“The distance from now to November is about six months. It's too soon to get married. But if they use each meeting to seriously discuss their future plans, then it's enough time to get to know each other. You know for yourself from our marriage experience. As long as we know each other, there is always something new we learn from our partner.” What he said is true. All right, I won't worry anymore.
The day we were waiting for finally arrived. Mom looked tense as we headed to the hospital. Today Mama will undergo an examination to find out whether the cancer cells return or Mama is free from the evil cells.
In order to avoid the long queue, we have already called Doctor Rahmad and Gerhard to tell the exact time of our arrival. Your surgeon did not find any infection or problems with the scar on your left chest. I never saw that part of his body. Only Papa knows and walks into the check room.
We waited for five minutes to see Gerhard. He was still consulting with other patients. The nurse let us in after the patient came out. Gerhard is doing better today. He no longer smiled excessively, instead being formal to me. Good though. Looks like Ara's barking is effective as well.
Mama consulted at length with Gerhard. Me and Papa just sat quietly listening to the conversation between them. Gerhard tried to use terms we could understand. Every time he mentioned a complicated medical term and we frowned, he explained it again in good and true Indonesian.
She asked Mama to follow the nurse to the next room to do USG. Unlike on my first arrival and Mama, she didn't wait until her sister called. He stood up and left me too Papa.
“I'll accompany your mama. You wait here with Dira.” Papa put my daughter in my lap. I nodded according to him.
After a while of waiting, they returned. My mother's face looked more cheerful. Seeing that, I was sure that the results of the examination were good. They sat back down and the doctor gave a prescription to Mama. He again reminded Mama to maintain a healthy lifestyle, keep thinking positive, and avoid heavy work. We left the practice room for the pharmacy.
“How was the USG result earlier, Auntie?” asku want to know when we wait for the number of the drug queue Mama called.
“Doctors did not find any residual cancer in my chest or lymph nodes. But I haven't been completely out of the threat, so I have to come again next month. I asked for mammography. The doctor refused, saying, I can only do the examination in the next five or six months. Hopefully the results will continue as well as this.” Mama smiled happily.
“Thank God, Aunt,” said I'm relieved.
“That doesn't mean we stop doing gymnastics every three times a day. Adhy will accompany me in the morning and at night, you still have to help me during the day. You don't have to come on Saturdays and Sundays. I don't want to be selfish. Your kids will want to be with you on weekends.” Mom looked towards Papa. “It's time to tell our family.”
“Are you sure, babe?” ask Papa surprised. Mama nodded her head.
“We can't hide this much longer. I'm ready to face whatever they'll say later.” Mama smiled, but Papa looked worried.
What's wrong with our family? As I recall, all my husband's relatives were good people. I rarely socialize with them. Whenever there was a family meeting, I couldn't leave my husband's side. So, I'm not close to anyone. Just saying hello to them. I often forget which is Mama's sister and which is Papa's brother.
“Tell Hendra. This Saturday we will have a celebration at home. Your friends are also invited if they can come,” Mama told me. Hearing that, I was reminded of something I had long wanted to do.
“What about my family, Auntie? Can my parents and sister's family come too?” ask me to vent.
