The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 220 - Threats

~Hendra~

Missing my chance to make out with my wife. He put on an angry face and I couldn't persuade him with my kisses and hugs. He even forbade me to hug him while we slept. So, I waited until she was sound so that I could feel her near me.

Another woman, another woman. I'm tired of telling everyone that I'm married and not interested in having an affair. If men out there like to save other women to just be their passions, I don't. Zahara is enough for me.

Before I married her, I never got close let alone giving any woman hope. Then what does that woman think that seduces me at every turn? I am so grateful that I am not handsome, but somehow my lack of physicality is no longer a barrier for them to get close.

No matter last night she sulked, the morning she helped me put on the tie, I kissed her until we both had trouble breathing. I wanted to tell her that no other woman would ever manage to take me from her side.

“I don't want any more secrets,” he said with a sullen face. I smile.

“Iya, darling.” I kissed her forehead, then took her hand. “Come, it's time for breakfast. The kids must be hungry.”

“I've escorted them to the dining room before helping you put up a tie.” We went down the stairs together. “Don't forget to clear your schedule on Friday morning. We're going to Hadi's school and hear his report while studying there.”

“Not felt he would rise to the next level. TK B?” my many. Za. “Then two more years Dira's turn into TK A. Kids grow up so fast.”

Throughout that morning, I had to read through the stack of proposals from every department that every manager had examined and approved. Some I agree with, some more need fixing. I pressed one of the buttons on the intercom and asked Gista to come over.

The door of my room was knocked, I let her in. I asked him to take care of every proposal I had checked. He took the pile, then walked out of my room. Next, I need to check the proposals coming from outside my company.

A call to conduct business cooperation, a request for funding from social organizations, even a request for project assistance from the local government was sent to my office. I just want to work with those who are in one field with me or who offer a room to open a new outlet. Requests for funding assistance are usually not discussed because it is the duty of Mama. I ignored the project assistance proposal.

By noon, Gista reminded me of a lunch appointment with my colleague. Usually they talked about business cooperation as well, so I invited Gista to come with me. I need someone who can be a notary.

The waiter who greeted us drove us to one of the rooms. When he opened the door, I didn't expect that anyone else would be invited. I looked towards my two colleagues.

“We met Keva at the entrance. Since he came alone, we thought there would be no problem if he came to eat with us.” I saw my friend put on a bad face. “I'm sorry. Have we made a mistake?” I didn't answer.

The room consists of a table with four chairs. Since the three seats were already occupied, then I allowed Gista to sit down. I know the woman purposely emptied the chair beside her. I looked at the waiter and asked him to take one more seat.

The lunch was awkward, but I didn't care. We promised three lunches, they invited others who had nothing to do with us. Thank goodness I brought Gista with me. So, I can avoid the drama with my wife tonight. Because I definitely can't hide this meeting from him.

“You must have got the next project proposal from the governor. How did you respond?” tanya Keva shifted the subject. My two friends looked at me.

“We usually wait for Hendra's response. If this project can be trusted and benefit our province, why not? We will join you in giving funds.”

“Why depends on Hendra's response? You guys don't have your own opinion?” ask Keva to know. The two men looked at me again.

“Then I want to know. What is your assessment of the new project, Hendra? That could be my consideration as well to decide whether to help or not.”

“You're done eating, Gista?” I looked at my secretary's plate. He nodded while answering yes. “I and Gista pamit first. We have a meeting this afternoon, so I don't want to be late. This is my part.” I put some red money on the table. Both my friends felt guilty.

“What's wrong with you, Hendra? Why do you make everyone feel bad?” said Keva. “If you don't like me eating here with you guys, why don't you just be frank? What harm would it do if I joined? Do you have a secret conversation? If so, your friends would have banned me from eating here from the beginning.”

“See you later, friends.”  I smiled at my two colleagues. They nodded.

Gista walked first to open the door, I prevented him. Since when do I let a woman open the door for me? The cafeteria was waiting at the front door. I opened the door and let my secretary in first.

“Hendra,” call someone from restaurant direction. What else does he want? “I understand you rejected me when I was engaged to another man. But I'm alone now. Why don't you give me a chance?” Is he serious about that question?

“Sorry, Miss Keva. Mr. Mahendra is married. Zahara Aprilia's mother is the wife of the Father and they already have two children,” said Gista answered her question. Keva raised his hand so that Gista would not speak, but my secretary did not care.

“I'm not talking to you.” He's looking at me. “Are you not wrong in recruiting people? Why did you let your secretary be impolite?”

“You're being disrespectful. I don't want to talk to you, you still insist. I know what you did to my friends. You must be manipulating them so that they are forced to accept you to eat with us,” I said.

“I'm not manipulating anyone, Hendra. You can ask them yourself,” the challenge.

“Log in, Gista,” my orders to my secretary. He complied and got into the car.

“What does he have that I don't have? She is just a poor child who has no place in our class. I'm much better than him, Hendra. We are a compatible couple. Can't you see that? Leave her and marry me. We can build our business together at the peak of success together,” Keva told me.

“You don't have to worry about your kids. We can raise them together. Valeria would love to have two brothers. I love you so much, Hendra. Give me a chance to make you happy,” he said which made me nauseous. He's gone mad.

“I only love Za.” I got into the car and closed the door.

“Look at it, Hendra! I'll definitely marry you. If I can't have you, then neither can the woman! You hear that?” He patted my car window with both hands. His screams were not heard after Kafin drove the car away from the restaurant.

“Wow,” murmured Gista. “Mother Zahara's competition is heavy, yes. First Ms. Nora, now Ms. Keva. They are rich, beautiful, and unyielding.”

“Do you want me to fire now?” ask me with a sharp tone.

“Ah, no, Sir. Don'tdon't. Im sorry. Just kidding, Mr.” He grimaced showing his teeth to me. I nodded slowly to see her behavior. “But you can't assume the wind and then the threat. Father and Mother must be careful.”
