The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 41 - Loss of Inspiration

I tried to write something on my blog since morning but my mind was deadlocked. Usually inspiration flows smoothly every morning after I fill my stomach and my nausea goes away. I don't know why I couldn't concentrate this morning.

Some of the articles I had exhausted, a book on my reading list had arrived at the last chapter, videos and music support ideas I had played, still did not help me get inspiration.

The door of my room was knocked, I let her in. Yuyun came carrying trays. I glanced at the watch, it was ten in the morning. Time to eat a snack. I touch my stomach, I don't usually feel hungry. After replying to my thanks, the woman walked out of the room. I took a piece of bread and bit it.

Hearing the sound of vibrations on the table, I immediately looked towards my phone. I picked it up and read the name on the screen. I sighed softly. Mamma. I put the bread back on the plate, then sipped some water before answering the call.

“Hai, Ma,” my cow.

“Hai, darling. Hopefully I don't bother you,” said Mama with music that sounded behind her voice.

“No, Ma. Is Mama following the show?” manya curious.

“Iya. There was a meeting with the director of the music school who was going to hold a fund night concert. I've all seen their training,” he replied. “I'll be quick, I called you for fear of forgetting if I put it off. Can you come with us to this concert tonight? You must be lonely because Hendra is out of the country.”

I never stopped thanking you for being given such understanding and kind-hearted in-laws. “Can, Ma. Where and start what time?”

“We'll pick you up at home around five in the afternoon. Wear official clothes but do not be too flashy,” replied Mama.

“Good, Ma.” I smile at the phone screen as soon as the phone call ends. Attending a music concert? That would be so much fun.

The phone I just put on the table, when it vibrated again. This time it's Darla's call. Not only did Darla's name appear on the screen but also Lindsey and Qiana. I greeted all three of them. To make it easier for me, the phone I put on the buffer device on the table. So I can have a snack while chatting with them.

Lindsey had just finished a dinner with her would-be outfit and met up with their acquaintances who owned a bag shop. Lindsey was invited to look around the store even though it was closed and welcome to buy if anyone caught his attention.

I heard Qiana yell hysterically whenever there was a bag she liked from the one Lindsey described. He and Darla both bought two bags. I'm not interested in buying one. But Darla forced me to vote as a gift from her. Because I don't really understand the model of a good bag, I invite those who choose it for me.

Quite a while also we did a conference call because my watch almost showed at twelve in the afternoon. I have lunch soon. I stared at my laptop screen which was still pure white, there was not a single word I typed.

I'd better eat, then rest. Today inspiration is not on my side. I turned off the laptop and took the phone with me as I exited the room. The door I just closed when the phone in my hand shook. I looked at the screen, then smiled.

“Hai, Hen!” sapaku.

“Hai, dear,” reply. “Something seems to miss me.” I immediately pouted hearing that sentence. She laughs.

“Have you arrived?” I asked as I walked towards the dining room.

“Iya. I just got to my hotel room and the first thing I want to do is hear my wife's voice. How are you doing this morning? Are you still nauseous?” tanyanya's worried.

“I know you just want to keep me calm,” he said seriously. Of course there was nothing I could hide from him. “Nearly twelve o'clock there. Are you going to lunch?”

“Iya.” I opened the dining room door. “I'm already in the dining room.”

“I'll accompany you to eat.” He sounded like he was walking from one room to another. “I'm hungry and there are some biscuits, bread, also chips on the kitchen counter.”

“Then, I have to take my phone buffer tool for a while.” I went back to my room and grabbed the cell phone brace on the desk. Putting the phone on the table when activating the speaker will make my voice sound far away.

As long as I eat, he talks more. I was glad to hear him tell me about the situation on the plane. He told me about a woman who tried to get him to talk even though he said he didn't want to talk to her. I could already imagine the emotionless cold expression he had aimed at the woman.

The part of her that was gentle and understanding was only directed at me. The first three years we were married, my father and mother-in-law were still shocked to see his expression that they rarely saw. They teased Hendra that he was subdued under my charms. My husband never rubbed it. He never showed his love for me in front of everyone.

If the women are not disturbed by his cold attitude, different from the employees in his company. They were very disinclined to him. I rarely come into his office and see how he works. But every time I accompanied him on the celebration held by his company, I could see his employees trying not to be around him.

Sometimes I feel sorry to see those who jump in surprised when Hendra calls out their names. He just wanted to introduce them to me, not to scold them. Hendra did not seem to mind the attitude of the employees. Perhaps it is better so, so that they do not take it lightly even though they are the same age as them.

“Are you sleepy?” I heard him yawn a few times.

“Iya. I can't sleep on the flight.” He was silent for a moment. “You know I can't sleep without you near me.” I didn't understand what that sentence meant. I always thought of it as a cheap mole until I experienced it myself last night.

“You want me to sleep?” Yuyun entered the dining room, I allowed her to clean up the dining table. I took the phone off the back.

“Are you not going to write your latest articles or fiction on the blog?” Just as I was walking out of the dining room towards the top floor, Hendra did the same. The sound of his feet clashing against the floor.

“You will not believe this, I have absolutely no inspiration whatsoever for me to write.” I'm laughing a little. Hendra took a surprised breath. “It's true.”

“Since when have you lost your writing inspiration? It was a very rare thing.” he asked in disbelief. “Don't say, I was your source of inspiration all along. Since I was going far away, then your inspiration also traveled far.”

“I will not accompany you to sleep.” I turned around and intended to go down the stairs.

“OK, okay. I won't say anything more.” I heard a noise I don't know what he was doing. “I'm ready for bed.” Oh, he's lying on the bed.

“You can't sleep before cleaning your teeth, Hen,” I said reminded. He complained slowly. “Wake up and brush your teeth if you still want me to sleep.” As fast as lightning he woke up, and I heard his quick footsteps followed by the sound of the door being opened. I laughed when I imagined him running.

As proof that he was brushing his teeth and washing his face, I heard the sound of water and his murmur brushing his teeth. Then we lay together in each other's beds. For a moment, he was already heavily sleepy, so was I. And I felt her embrace in my body. “I love you so much, baby.”
