The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 210 - Funny Story

My husband laughed out loud as I told him what happened at his parents' house during the day. I pouted seeing my suffering turned out to be considered a joke by him. So obnoxious. I pulled up the blanket that covered my body and intended to get out of bed. But his hands moved faster.

“That's funny, dear.” She laughed so hard as her hands hugged me tightly. I pinched, hit, but the handle didn't loosen. “Shortly ... don't get mad .. I just need ...” He laughed again, so satisfied that my ears hurt.

“I'm very angry but I can't do anything. After all, my mother is my father-in-law. Your parents I need to respect. Once I got kicked out like that. I just need a calm atmosphere for five minutes to be able to finish the food on my plate. Mama even told the waiter to pack it.” I'm advancing my lower lip. He laughed again loudly. I nodded loudly.

He would take a very long time to recover from the attacks of his body system that was sensitive to humor. Hendra rarely laughed after this. So, I let it go even though my heart was irritated for mercy. He laughs at others, not problems. Did he laugh at his wife's misfortune too?

“Hendra! Enough already! When do you want to laugh like this? Your stomach and cheekbones can hurt.” Reminded him. She shut her mouth trying to hold back her laughter, but she laughed again loudly. “Let me go! You really don't understand how I feel!” I pinched his hand, he still did not want to let go of his embrace.

“Shortly ... my love .. wait a minute.” He took a deep breath and his laughter slightly diminished. “I really understand .. your feelings.”

“You don't understand my feelings at all,” I said annoyed. He twisted my body so that we could face each other now. She smiled, but she tried not to laugh anymore.

“I already know sooner or later you will fight again. How many times do I have to tell you not to come to my parents' house without me? You are wayward and feel can control your atmosphere and feelings.” He kissed my cheek. “I appreciate your efforts, baby. What you did today is right. Don't let my mom insult you again.”

The words always surprised me and I couldn't believe it. “Other husband must be angry if he finds out I did that to his birth mother.”

“Other husband? You have another husband besides me?” I rolled my eyeballs hearing him change the subject.

“It's enough chanting. I mean, the husband of another woman,” I said rectify.

“I'm not another man. I am the me. I know my parents as well as I know you. There will come a time when Mama is ready to accept that the two of us are back together. But not now. He still needs time. Be patient.” He kissed me again. “Are you going there tomorrow?”

I thought about it before giving an answer. “Maybe. I don't know yet.”

“Good. It's up to you to do what. I'll support you.” He kissed my forehead. I smiled feeling his love.

“Oh, yes. Mama's having a big celebration on Saturday. We were all invited,” I said remembering what Mama said. “And Mama said, no need to bring any gift.”

“Beres.” Hendra kissed me again. I looked at him confused. Why is he a little spoiled tonight? “What's up? Why do you see me like that?”

“Your attitude tonight is a bit different. Has something happened? Or is there a secret you're hiding from me?” manya suspect.

“I just want to please your heart. You've had a hard day, so I'll make you feel better.” He kissed my cheek with anxiety. I laughed amusedly.

“Honey, you don't have to do this. I'd better sleep in your arms. Kissing and making out like this doesn't help me at all. We are still undergoing this annoying fast.” I held her cheeks when she was still trying to kiss me again. I know that he was deliberately teasing me. “Tell me, how is Gista?”

“Can you stop teasing me and just answer my question?” I squinted my eyes.

“He is fine. Like most people who are in love, she is always smiling. I'm sure that's what you want to hear. He stares at his phone most of the day, but he still does his job well.” He finally answered my question.

“Thank God. Their relationship is still going well.”

“Tell Will, we're not home on Saturday. So, he had to think about where he was going to lead Colin.”

“He can leave it to us. I'm sure Mama won't mind one more kid coming with us.”

No matter that the day before I was kicked out of the house, I came again to accompany Mama that afternoon. Papa greeted me with a tired face, while Mama said nothing. He was busy talking to someone on his cell phone.

Papa then does the same thing when his phone vibrates. I looked at the two of them in confusion. Papa and Mama were seen speaking in a serious tone. From the conversation I was able to capture, they were talking to their relatives.

A waiter came in to deliver drinks for me and Dira. We thank him. Mama just ended her conversation with someone, her phone vibrated. He sighed softly, then answered the call after checking the screen.

“This is enough. Time for lunch. You also have to rest.” Papa took Mama's phone. “These two things for a while we just turn them off. They do not understand that you are recovering, instead call continue.”

I didn't ask them. Seeing their tired faces, I did not want to add to their burden anymore. We headed to the dining room, then ate the dishes served on the table in silence. Even when I accompanied Mama to do her light gymnastics in the room, she just kept quiet. Too tired to open his mouth.

There was no trace of anger on his face. He just sees me as usual. Nothing has changed. It seems we have the same thought. What happened yesterday wants us to forget and not be taken into account again.

Papa was sitting on a row with Dira sitting by his side playing with his doll when I walked into the living room. The television is on. Papa chose a news broadcast that aired economic developments in the country.

“You've slept?” ask Papa. I'm asserting. “She was worried that you wouldn't come today. Still he dared to expect your presence after his behavior yesterday. The more days I can't understand his mind.”

“It's okay, Pa. At least yesterday's incident made my husband laugh happily all night.” I rolled my eyeballs. Papa laughed a little.

“Did he mention about your stubbornness that keep coming here even though he has banned?” ask Papa to guess. I grumbled slowly. “Ignore him. He's just teasing you.”

“I don't want to discuss Papa's annoying son.” I glanced at the two phones on the table. “What happened? Why did Mom and Dad get a call from the family? Did Papa invite them to the event on Saturday?”

“Iya. We also started telling them about your mama's condition. They all protested because they were not told early. We just contacted two people, the news immediately spread. And our phones haven't stopped ringing since yesterday afternoon.” Papa sighed softly.

“That's why no family has visited Mama since entering the hospital even to this day. Why is Mama's illness kept a secret from our extended family, Pa? My condition also improved after surgery. But why just tell them now?”
