He ended our marriage, and then I got the job to determine whether or not we were together? So selfish. If he doesn't want us back together, so do I. Just look at who can survive later when we split again once back to Jakarta.
I quickly finished my chocolate bar and put the empty mug into the sink. I said good night before I went into the room. Hendra retaliates or not, I don't care. I closed the door and immediately lay down to sleep. Even without cleaning my face and teeth first. I'm upset.
Waking up in the morning, I wanted to cry because the children had forgotten me completely. They no longer went into the room to wake me up as usual. The sound of their happy laughter followed by the ugly puppy's salute further irritated me. I don't care if I'm labeled as a selfish mother, but I just want my kids to be happy with me!
“Good morning, Mama!” sapa Hadi. I didn't like that kind of greeting, so I approached her, hugged her, then kissed her all out. He laughed happily.
“Mama! Mama! Brother!” Of course Dira also does not want to be ignored. I hugged him and kissed him on my cheek.
“Come, Pa. Why is Papa just silent?” Hadi pushed Hendra's body closer. I stopped laughing and we looked at each other awkwardly. “Sini, Pa.” Hadi hugged me and then pulled his papa's hand to imitate what he was doing.
Hendra did not refuse anymore. He hugged the three of us. I held back the tears that urged me to come out. Which immediately collapsed upon feeling her lips on my forehead. My spontaneous actions had even produced results that were beyond my expectations. Yeah, God. Can you stop for one day?
After breakfast together, that day Hendra took us to the next tourist spot. I read the name of the place we were going. Like the brand name of the yoghurt drink. Hendra held Dira, while I held Hadi's hand. After Hendra bought the ticket, we went in.
The place was beautiful, clean, and the air was very fresh. Since today was Friday, there were not many visitors in the place. Hendra let me and Hadi walk first. We went down the stairs and met a big bridge to cross the river.
Hadi cheered happily and slightly pulled my hand to approach the bridge. I laughed and followed him. I took two big steps, the bridge swayed. My heart was pounding fast and my hair was bristling. Whatisthis? I immediately clung to the iron on my left.
“What's up, Ma? Come on, let's go,” take Hadi. I saw him wryly. He wasn't afraid to feel his bridge sway?
“What's up, Za?” I heard Hendra talking behind my back. He approached. The wood I stepped on seemed to shake violently. I held on tight with both hands. “Don't say you're scared.” Were it not for my heart pounding so hard that I would have gladly tugged at the end of his smiling lips.
“Ma, come. The bridge is safe and strong. Mama don't be afraid.” Hadi held my hand. “Mama can hold on to me.”
“Ma-mama is not afraid. Mama ha-just a little dizzy.” I tried to vent. I took off my grip and returned to holding Hadi's hand. But my left hand was still holding on to the iron bridge. He smiled and we stepped back. Hendra stomped his feet near me and my footing again wavered.
“Hendraa …! Hendra, what are you doing?! I could fall! This bridge is fragile. I must have fallen into that mighty river. I must be dead. Stopit! Hendra, hentikan …! You insolent! I'm gonna kill you! I'll haunt you for life if I die!” Instead of helping me, he laughed out loud. Finish my history.
“It's a very pleasant entertainment.” I felt a huge hand encircle my body. But I did not release my grip on the iron of the bridge. “Release your handle. I'll carry you.”
“No want! You must have planned all this. You want me dead. Yes, ‘kan?” I did not dare to open my eyes in fear. Oh, dearGod. Why doesn't this bridge stop wobbling? I could fall and die by a boulder in the river.
“Let go of your handle and go up to my back. I won't say it again, Za. It's your last chance,” he said made me even more afraid of being left on this broken bridge. I opened my eyes. He gave his back to me. I quickly wrapped my hands around his neck and hooked my feet on his body.
“Mama!” said Dira was happy. I can't repay him. I closed my eyes and felt Hendra straighten up and start walking. My heart doesn't stop beating. Even his steps felt dull. We must have fallen.
“Spirit, Ma. We are already in the middle of the bridge,” said Hadi with a happy tone.
“I would rather die than open my eyes,” I said in a trembling voice. She laughs. Hadi kept mesmerizing in amazement making me curious. I slowly opened my eyes and looked around me. Vaaah …. Hendra's right. The view is so beautiful. Now I can even hear the rushing river under us.
At the end of the bridge, he dropped me off. My legs were a little wobbly, so I held onto him. I looked up at the bridge we passed. There were lovers walking behind us. They laughed when they saw me. So obnoxious. I've never been humiliated like this.
“You should always be on the lookout for the people around you. Because I'll kill you when we get back to the villa later,” I said threatening Hendra. “You know that I am afraid of this kind of bridge but you didn't tell me before I stepped on it.”
“This once-in-a-lifetime holiday I will never miss, Za.” He's laughing a little. She brought her face closer and whispered, “After giving birth to two children, your chest is big too.”
“Shoppers you.” I growled in annoyance. He immediately covered Dira's ears with his hands.
“Do not kotori my daughter's innocent thoughts with the words umpire so.” He walked away from me laughing with satisfaction. How regrettable. I wanted to say it again, but I held myself back. “Come, Hadi. There are many animals that you can see here.”
Hadi was so happy to see the bird in the big cage we first came. Hendra did not refuse when our son wanted to feed the rabbits. Dira asked to be taken down from his papa sling, wanted to touch the long-eared animal.
Hendra offers Hadi to try milking the cow, but he refuses. He was satisfied enough to see the animal moving its mouth through chewing food. After seeing and feeding the animals for the sake of the animals that were in that place, we returned to where we had come earlier. This time, it was not over the bridge.
“Why when we came earlier we did not go this way alone?” my protest. Hendra laughed a little.
“And missed an opportunity to see you out of control?” He laughed contentedly. I looked at him sharply. I will definitely repay her actions today.
We entered a place that we had just passed. There are a lot of big akuriums in it. Hadi cheered happily and mentioned the names of the fish he was familiar with. Hendra read the name on a board near the achurium to name an unknown fish or aquatic animal for our son.
Satisfied around, we ate lunch at the restaurant available at the place while enjoying the view of the river, hearing the swift flow of water, and breathe the fresh air around us. Our appetites increased so much that the food that Hendra ordered could cost us four.
After buying some snacks as well as fresh milk in various flavors, we returned to the villa. The children immediately slumped in the back seat because of fatigue and satiety. I asked Hendra to turn off the car cooler so we could open the front window. He complied with my request and a cool breeze got into the car.
Hendra held Hadi who was still sound, while I carried Dira when we arrived. Almost approaching the terrace, I raised my head and saw a woman sitting on one of the chairs there. His face looked familiar.
“Father can't fire me unilaterally like this,” he said who ignored me and looked towards my back with watery eyes. Now I know him. Secretary Hendra.
“There's nothing more we need to talk about. You better get out of here before I call the police.” Hendra gave me a little nudge to keep going. I obey. The woman blocked my steps.
“Did you fire me because you were worried that I would hinder the return of your relationship with Mom? I'm not going to do it, sir. Let me keep working for you. I won't try to tempt you again. But do not force me to stop loving Father,” said the woman with a clear face.
Whahuh? This woman loves Hendra?
