The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 142 - Public Opinion

I stared one by one at the people sitting with their heads bowed in front of me. The police officer said that according to the evidence on the supermarket CCTV footage, the three men were suspects who had physically abused me.

The man was finally shown squeezing my butt, the first woman holding my hand, and the last rubbing my back. Gone were already the arrogant and ridiculing faces they showed me yesterday. The three of them did not want to look at me.

“The three of them were found guilty. Mothers only need to sign this affidavit to continue legal action for their actions against Mother.” A letter was placed in front of me. I looked towards Mr. Oscar. He nodded slowly. I looked towards Hendra.

“The decision is in your hands, dear.” She smiles.

“I actually do not want to extend this trivial issue. If only yesterday you immediately confessed and apologized, I believe we do not need to be in this place. But I don't want the same thing repeated. I forgive you, Mother and Father, but the legal process will continue. Please, respect others and do not touch their bodies without permission again.” I signed the statement.

Hendra helped me to stand up and we came out of the room. I'm grateful that no journalist kissed this incident so we could leave freely. Kafin drove me home first before heading to my husband's office.

The people who live in these apartment buildings do not really care about people they do not know. I'm grateful that there hasn't been any incident with the person who ran into me in the elevator. They don't even bother looking at my face.

“Serious once. Was looking at what, Yun?” I asked while approaching him who was staring at his phone screen. I filled the water in a glass.

“Social media, Mistress. Until now people have not stopped cursing Madam.” He shook his head.

“Curse how?” I looked at his phone screen.

“Does Madam not have a social media account?” tanyanya surprised. I'm shaking.

“Hendra won't allow me. You know how strict she has been in looking after me since we got married.” I sat in the chair beside him. “What are their curses?”

He gave me his phone. I saw everything on that screen. There was a news about me suddenly disappearing, not being seen again at home. Only Hendra occasionally managed to photograph them when coming and going from his office building.

Then in the comments section, there is someone who, by his name, is not a person I know. He told me at length about the importance of a wife to remain faithful to her husband. Next, the words I had heard were written by people whose names I did not know. Palicur, the cheap lady, the hypocrite, told me to just die, even cursing so that my life would never be happy.

“Wow. Do people use social media to do this?” many confused.

“No, Mistress. Ignore their comments. There have been many cases where their comments were used as evidence to report them to the police, they cried apologetically. They were originally not all their spicy comments in the media.” He shook his head slowly.

I saw the evidence earlier. Two women who insulted me to touch my body as they pleased in public, once taken to the police station to account for their actions, could only bow. They didn't even dare look me in the face.

Sometimes their words still ring in my head, their touch still made me shudder, the man's sneaky smile still reflected in my eyes. But I immediately pulled him off. I won't let them win by being weak. I have to be strong. The media has not stopped telling me bad things. Our fight is long.

Back to school with Colin. Dira was happy to see her brother play with her. But she was a little afraid of being near her brother's friend. I accompanied them to play after closing the door again. Yuyun and Liando return home.

Towards the peak of his company's birthday, Hendra often went out early in the morning and came home late at night. I only met her while cleaning myself together in the bathroom in the morning. He came home at night, we were all gone.

To avoid being chased by reporters, my friends and I could not meet as usual. But we were quite satisfied to be able to chat via video call. Qiana was busy with her wedding anniversary preparations. He had already spread out the invitations, ascertained how many guests would come, and rented a place that could accommodate everyone.

I was amazed by his hard work. She could still prepare such a big event in the midst of her busyness accompanying Helmut as the council wife. I haven't even had time to prepare anything because I can't go here and there to prepare for our wedding anniversary next month.

Darla is happy because her daughter is finally pregnant and she will soon become a grandmother. He had already prepared two names for men and women. We try to digest and understand his happy expression. Realizing what he wanted to say, we cheered happily. Daphina is pregnant with twins!

Lindsey is happy because they just returned from a trip to Norway. I was a little jealous when she told me how beautiful the country was. They spent the night on an island close to a clean lake until the reflection of old buildings in the city was clearly visible in the water. They also visited the cathedral and the famous old church there. Charlotte was thrilled when they visited the famous glacier there. He can play in the snow.

That happy conversation had to break down because of me. When it was my turn to speak, I could only share unpleasant news. Who has to change schools. But he loved his new school and was happy with his friends and teachers there. I was the one getting the unpleasant treatment at the supermarket and the bullying I received online.

“Oh. You're not gonna believe this. I heard two women talking about you at a restaurant while I was having dinner with my husband. They are two respectable women but the words that come out of their mouths disgust me.” Darla has an angry face.

“I immediately scolded them and told them to shut up. They didn't accept it and we fought a mouth war for a while. If it wasn't for Gio pulling me away from that place, we might be craving it because their words hurt me. They do not know you but cursing so.” I smiled hearing it.

“I also did the same when attending an event at the hotel with Helmut,” said Qiana did not want to lose. “They are the wives of councilors, her hobby is gossiping. I wouldn't be mad if they were just talking about you and Hendra. But they even vilify you and say bad things about you.”

“Heran. I rebuked them well, they were angry with me. I fought alone because the other mothers defended them. I know they are also cheating hobbies. Why do you have so many enemies, Za? Is there anyone who might have influence behind the issue of your affair?” tanya Qiana was suspicious.

“People who have influence?” Darla murmured softly. “You have a point too, Qiana. The issue has been going on for weeks, but journalists are still chasing people close to Zahara and Hendra. Their home is also still mobbed by media.”

“You mean, this influential person has something to do with reporters?” ask Lindsey. Darla rounded her eyes.

“You're a genius too, Lindsey! Ja. This issue must have something to do with people who can control the media. Just think, if this issue continues to be left, the marriage of Zahara and Hendra is on the edge. When they split up, who would benefit from the situation?” ask the mysterious Darla.

“Vivaldo?” lindsey and Qiana said. “So she can get close to Zahara?” added Qiana.

“But he won't be able to drive the media, Darla.” I looked at him confused.

“Try to think again who I mean,” said Darla. I thought hard.

“Oh, Oh! I knew! Men are shameless. Me and Helmut will talk seriously with her,” growled Qiana. Who are they talking about?
