The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 74 - The Father's Rest

“Where is the little guy's room?” claudia asked cheerfully. Hendra let go of my hand and walked towards the stairs, escorting the men. I can only open my mouth. “They will work quickly. Don't worry.”

Following my curiosity, I walked up the stairs to the top floor. I heard the subtle footsteps of my friends who followed me as well. Hendra turned his head as I was almost nearby. We stood in the doorway and saw the men working quickly to install baby cots, cabinets, closets, baby-safe floor mats, and some toys.

Then they came out of the room and I went in to touch every piece of furniture and stuff. I opened one of the drawers and found there were so many baby clothes. In another drawer there is a new diaper for disposable. Claudia and Mason don't playfully give gifts.

“How? Do you like it? Anything else we need to add?” asked Claudia who was already standing in the doorway.

“Is this a bribe for us to let our son be your son-in-law?” asked Hendra in a joking manner. We laughed when we heard it. “Thank you, Claudia, Mason. All this is more than enough.”

“Sama-sama. My wife is happy to be friends with all of you. We want to give this as a gift. No other meaning. Of course we also do not mind if your son and our granddaughter really become a couple later.” Mason embraces his wife.

“Claudia, she is my granddaughter. How can you do this?” protest my mother-in-law. Claudia immediately approached him and hugged him. I smile at the smile.

“Tante, don't be angry. I really like Zahara because of that I want to give a gift to her son,”, Claudia said. “There are still other details I haven't had time to buy. Aunty will add, yes?”

“I'm not angry just because you will be my grandson's future-in-law.” Mama said meaningfully. Claudia looked at him in disbelief.

“Tante bless my plan?” tanyanya did not believe. Mama nodded quickly. Claudia cheers happy.

“What you need is the blessing of parents, not grandmother.” Hendra shook his head. We laughed together again.

After being satisfied to see the state of the room for the little one, we went down together to the bottom floor. Abdi approached and told Hendra that the men had left. He then walked to the inside of the house. We followed our friends back to the living room.

“What seven-monthly event is this that did not invite the father of the baby?” There was the sound of someone I knew talking from the front door.

Aldo stood in the open front doorway looking at me and Hendra with a triumphant smiling face. All the attention of the people in the front room was on him and I'm sure they heard the words.

“You? What are you doing here?” ask Papa in surprise. Aldo looked towards him.

“Tell the truth.” Then he looked at me. Papa immediately pulled the man's hand to follow him upstairs. “What's up, Om? Afraid anyone heard of the scandal in the Om family?” My friends immediately distracted the guests. I could only stand stiffly in place.

“I'll accompany Papa,” whispered Hendra. I immediately grabbed her hand as she let go of mine. “You are here only.”

“No. I have to come,” I said insist. I knew that my condition prevented him from walking faster towards the upper floors. But I have to come. Without having to search, we knew where Papa was taking Aldo. Sitting room. It's not just Papa. All three of our parents were with him in the room.

“Say, what is it that you came here for?” insist Papa. Aldo looked at me who had just entered the room. Hendra immediately closed the door behind me.

“The child in Ara's womb is my son, not Hendra's son,” he said presumptuously.

“What?!” asked our four parents in a surprised tone. They looked at me and Aldo in turn.

“Ara?” ask Papa to me.

“This is my husband's son.” I touched my stomach trying to protect her from the evil accusation. The child in my womb is my husband's son, not another man.

“My wife is right. This child is my son.” Hendra. Aldo smiled cynically.

“Where is the evidence?” tanyanya.

“Why do I need to give you proof?” ask Hendra.

“You've been married for six years and she's not pregnant. After she slept with me, she was pregnant with a child. Are you sure it's your son? What was? Why are you silent? Can't answer my question? You should divorce her. Because I won't let the two people I love live with you any longer.” Aldo said.

“You dream if you think this child is your son. I gave you a warning and you ignored it. Don't blame me if your son will live without their father for a long time.” Hendra looked at Aldo sharply.

“Always with that empty threat. I also have evidence that your family's efforts are riddled with fraud. Let's just see who will win at the green table.” Aldo looked at me. “Come, Ara. You come with me. They'll all torture you after knowing this. Only I will be able to protect you.”

“You have one heart. I've been working hard to fix things that have been destroyed. You came back and ruined everything. Was it my fault for you until you got this tired?” askaku.

“Ara, I love you. All I did was bring you back to me. Why don't you understand too?” He approached, Hendra immediately standing in front of me.

“Go away from this place immediately and shut the fuck up. If you don't get out of my house immediately, I'll report you for entering private property without permission. I have a legal authority that can get you maximum punishment. Please choose,” said Hendra firmly. Aldo defied my husband's gaze.

“I'll be back again. And at that time you better let Ara go and let me take her with me. She and the baby are mine,” Aldo said before he came out.

My body is shaking violently. Finish already. My history is over here. The secret that I kept as best I could was finally revealed as well. My efforts to get Hendra's heart again are now in vain. It was only a matter of time until our marriage broke down in plain sight.

“Ara? The darling? What happened, Son?” ask Mama with a sad face. “What did Vivaldo just say? You and him back together? Why did he mention that this child was his son?”

“We're not back together, Ma. And this is Hendra's son. Husband's son. Not another boy,” my words reassured him.

“I never taught you to hurt anyone. I don't want you to hurt a husband who already loves you so much. Hendra doesn't deserve to be treated like this, Ara.” Mama sobbing.

“Honey, calm yourself. You can't be emotional like this.” He hugged Mama, trying to calm her down.

“Hendra, I'm sorry. I failed to educate my daughter,” Mama told my husband.

“Mama?” ask me when I see Mama frowning while touching her left chest. Suddenly he fell. I immediately hugged him with Papa. “Don't do this to me, Ma. Ii'm sorry. I beg you, forgive me.”
