The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 16 - Special Day

The sound of water from the bathroom drew me to my senses, I opened my eyes lazily. I looked at the side of the empty bed on my left side and then at the small clock on the nightstand. Five o'clock in the morning. I groaned slowly and got out of bed.

After preparing my husband's work clothes, Hendra appeared on the doorstep of our wardrobe. He kissed me and I went to the bathroom. A few minutes later, I came out and my husband waited patiently for me.

Understanding what I should do, I approached and placed a knot on his tie. He smiled at me. I raised my head and returned his smile. Of all the things he could do, the only thing he left to me was to put a tie on.

At first I thought he couldn't do it alone. Lately I have understood. He doesn't have a tie that stays put, it's all a tie that has to be concluded on its own. That means he can pull a tie. He just wanted to have one thing where he could depend on me.

Hendra is a very independent man. I was never obligated to do anything to serve him, he could do everything himself. Sometimes I choose her work clothes even though she never asked me to do it. Putting up a tie is a trivial thing, but for him it is an intimate thing.

“Later tonight wear your white dress I bought in Paris and the diamond necklace I gave you yesterday.”

She wiped the hair that covered my cheeks.

“For what?” ask me without stopping the movement of my hand that tidied up his shirt after finishing installing his tie.

“Did you forget today what day?” He wrapped his hands around my waist, then brought our bodies closer together. I frowned.

“Day Wednesday,” I replied slowly. He's laughing a little. I frowned, not understanding what he was trying to say.

“Our wedding anniversary day, dear. Today we even married for six years,” said Hendra in a happy tone. I smiled and shook my head.

“Then what does this have to do with wearing a white dress?” many wonder.

“We will have dinner at your favorite restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary,” he replied while kissing the tip of my nose. That's a tempting offer.

“But, Hendra, last night we just celebrated my birthday. Why don't we celebrate at home?” I sighed softly. After my birthday celebration last night, today I really don't want to go out.

“After last night our helpers worked hard to prepare for your birthday celebration, I want to give them a quicker break tonight.” She smiles. Oh. If that's the case, what else can I say? I also want to give them time to rest.

“Good.” I was touched to hear it. “How long do we meet at the restaurant?”

“I'll pick you up at home,” he replied. I nodded in agreement. “Thank you for making me happy for six years, love.” He looked down so he could kiss my lips.

“You have also made me happy, Hendra,” I said slowly. I don't love her, but she makes me happy with her love.

As soon as Papa told Hendra that I was willing to marry him six years ago, Hendra's extended family wasted no time. They hired the best event organizer in our city to prepare everything needed for the wedding.

In the midst of his busy life with work, Hendra took the time to meet me so we could

know each other. We chose the house and its furniture together. I am even welcome to choose a car for myself.

The honeymoon trip we also chose together, but Hendra left the decision entirely to me. If before I was so enthusiastic about walking around Europe, when it was in sight, I was not happy at all.

Our marriage blessing took place in a sacred manner in the church where Hendra and his family were a regular congregation. Only family and friends attended. The wedding reception went well too. The thousands of guests present were mostly acquaintances of the Hendra family. I had just first met directly with important and famous people in this country on the same day.

Since that afternoon where I saw Aldo kissing another woman, I have not wanted to see him since. Injured by her betrayal, I retaliated by not giving her any explanation regarding the end of our relationship. He was the first person to receive my wedding invitation.

Of course he chose to come to my wedding reception with the woman he kissed. Since my husband welcomed their congratulations with a happy face, I also did the same. I won't let Aldo and his mistress feel like winning have hurt me.

The next day, we went on our honeymoon. Our first destination was Paris. Hendra wanted to enjoy our first night in the city that many people call the epitome of romanticism. I

I gave myself up by force to a man I didn't love at all. Although she did not hurt me, I cried after having sex, while she fell asleep at my side.

I deeply regret the decision I made. Deciding to marry Hendra without a second thought has made my life suffer. That was the biggest mistake I ever made. And I never want to repeat it again.

I will never make a big decision in a state of anger or sadness. To this day I never do it again. The result of a decision taken in an emotional and hasty state has brought great regret to my life. I can't change it because Hendra will never divorce me. I will forever be in a marriage without love.

“Oh, yes. I almost forgot.” He stopped his steps near the door. “Papa and Mama invited us to lunch to celebrate our wedding day. No need to bother the maids, we can eat out, in the restaurant near my office. Can you join us?”

“Papa and your mama or me?” my question was to make sure because we called both of our parents with the same greeting.

“My parents.” He's laughing a little. I smile.

“Of course,” answered I agree. At noon today, I had no appointments with anyone. It's usually just lunch with my three best friends, and it's not today.

“You want me to pick up?” he said offer himself. I shook my head.

“No need. I can come by myself. Anyway today I have an appointment with salon.”

“Means done.” Smile expands.
