Chapter 55 - Ending Not Fun

Our vacation ended in no fun. Qiana had mastered herself well during the journey home. She did not quarrel with her husband or talk about things she saw in the hotel on the flight. Even until we entered each other's vehicles upon arrival at the destination airport he remained calm.

Darla was the only person among us who did not understand the cause of the change. So, I wasn't surprised when I received the incoming call from him. My husband and I just got to our house. Turns out he also contacted Lindsey so we could make a conference call. We told him what we knew.

“We have lunch at Qiana's house tomorrow? He definitely needs someone at the moment,” Darla said. Lindsey and I agreed. I volunteered to bring Qiana's favorite ice cream, Lindsey would bring us our favorite coffee, and we persuaded Darla to bring more fruit and spices.

By the time I got into the room, Hendra was done taking a shower. Then I did not delay to clean myself up either. The smell of delicious food greeted me as I came out of the bathroom. There is tuna and avocado sandwich on the plate. Hendra laughed to see me immediately sitting by his side and picked up the bread. I muttered softly feeling his delicacy in my mouth.

“You're going to the laundry and the supermarket tomorrow?” ask Hendra. I nodded my head. “How about we leave together, then Liando picks you up home?”

“Oke.” I nodded in agreement. “But what happened did you suddenly ask me to come with you?”

“Of course so I can stay longer with my wife.” He kissed my temple. I smile. “What do you want to eat for tonight? I'll tell Yuyun.”

“Anything. I'm full enough to wait until dinner is ready.” I showed my side bread to him. He stood up, then walked out of the room.

As per our agreement, I went to the laundress to drop off the dirty clothes with her, then dropped off at the supermarket to shop. I bought more groceries because we would invite both of our parents to have a meal together on Sunday. Hendra intended to inform me of my pregnancy that day.

Looking at the delicious ice cream array, I refrained from buying it. I'm meeting up with my friends this afternoon and I'm not carrying a special bag of frozen food. The ice will melt when I get home. The situation was definitely going to get worse when I arrived at Qiana's house, so I canceled my intention.

I turned around and someone suddenly kissed my lips. I took a step back and saw Aldo standing in front of me with a happy face. He looked towards the trolley I was holding, then looked back at me.

“You shop a lot as usual. How are you, honey? Long time ago we did not meet.” He took a step forward, I immediately put the trolley between us.

“Don't see me again, Aldo. Which of my sentences is less clear to you?” I said firmly. What's wrong with this guy? Why is he still coming at me, even sassyly kissing me without permission?

“You used to be like this too. Reject me until your heart finally breaks. Ara, are you inviting me to play with the cats again? Don't you think we're too old for this?” He tried to get back to me.

“If you don't go too, I'll yell calling security. We don't have any relationship, so leave. Don't ever see me again,” I said seriously.

“After the night we spent together, you said we didn't have any relationship? What's the matter? Is it because I'm just a regular employee and your husband is a wealthy businessman and you prefer him?” ask her with a wound full of eyes. I kept quiet to give him time to do what I asked. But he didn't leave either.

“Please ..!” I shouted without hesitation. He looked around us in panic.

“The man is bothering me. I asked her to leave but she didn't want to,” I said answering a kind woman's question that came closer immediately upon hearing my screams.

“Do I need to accompany to the security guard post to complain?” ask the woman again. I'm shaking.

“No need. Thank you very much. Importantly, he's gone.” I smiled at him.

“You should be careful when you leave the house. If you can, don't go out alone. He seemed serious about his words earlier.” The woman looked at me worriedly. I'm nodding.

While waiting for all my groceries to be scanned at the counter, I thought about what the lady had suggested. Ja. I can no longer go alone. Although I really liked this supermarket, it was time for me to move to another branch. A little further isn't a problem, as long as I don't see Aldo again.

When I got home, I let Abdi and Liando get all the grocery bags out of the car. After telling Yuyun how she should store every kind of groceries, I went towards Qiana's house. I had brought a special bag for cold food, so I stopped by my best friend's favorite ice cream cafe and bought two different flavors.

I arrived first followed by Lindsey and Darla. Things happen so rarely that I feel happy. We did not tell her that we were coming so Qiana was surprised to see us standing at her doorstep. But upon seeing the pouch brought by Darla's driver, she cheered happily. We're going to another party.

We had lunch with Italian food. I took the spaghetti first, then next ate the lasagna, and lastly enjoyed the pizza. Everything is delicious. Maybe because I was pregnant and hungry, all the food tasted good. As usual, Qiana and Lindsey were keeping their meals together, while Darla and I were eating as much as we wanted.

“The two of you should have taken care of our feelings more and not eaten that much,” complained Qiana. Darla and I laughed.

“I deliberately bought a lot of ice cream, do not think about diet. You have a swimming pool. Just swim every day, then what you eat today will burn into energy,” I said while putting a spoonful of ice into the mouth.

“Thank you guys for coming here. I'm sorry for making our holiday less enjoyable.” Qiana put down her already empty ice cream bowl.

“No words of thanks in friendship.” Darla gave a warning. Qiana smiled.

“Suspected that our husband is playing behind us by watching it directly is very different. I still can't believe Helmut was able to do this to me. We've been twenty years together, he betrayed me with a woman as young as that.” Qiana sobbing. We immediately sat by her side and hugged her.

“Helmut hasn't touched me in a long time, let alone kissed me. But she kissed the woman so hot she forgot where she was. He hasn't wanted me like that in a long time. I take good care of my body, take care of myself, I'm even being nice to him. Then what was my fault until he betrayed me? I just feel like dying. I don't want to lose my husband.”

“Qiana, you will not lose your husband,” Darla assured him. Qiana's cry broke.

“The woman is pregnant.”
