The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 85 - The Decision that Determines

~Za~

“Where is my grandson? Where's my little whiz?” my mother said as soon as she entered the sitting room. Hadi had just fallen asleep in my arms after being full of milk.

“Now my parents care more about their grandchildren than their daughters,” I tease Mama. She immediately hugged me, then asked to hold my son whom I immediately allowed.

“Have you had breakfast?” asked Papa who sat next to Mama and looked at her grandson's face with a happy smile.

“Already, Pa.” I smiled seeing they did not take their eyes off Hadi.

“Yesterday we found Adhyana and Naava,” Papa said slowly. I gave my full attention to him. “They don't want to talk to us at all. Although Hadi is their biological grandson, it seems your mistake is unforgivable.”

“They didn't hurt Papa and Mama, ‘kan?” manyworry.

“No. They wanted to see us but just kept quiet. Your mama and I tried to talk, apologizing, but they were flinching. Because the atmosphere was so awkward, we decided to go home,” replied Papa.

I nodded in understanding. They were acting the same towards me and Hendra. Maybe not to my husband. But because I came with him, they gave us silence from the beginning until we came home.

But it's no use anymore. Hendra and I will be separated. My relationship with my two in-laws will also end. They will be happy again later. Hendra will find a better woman, get married, have children, and forget me and Hadi. My husband is young, he can still have a few more children to carry on his family lineage.

“Mistress, there's Mr. Oscar,” Abdi told me. Why did he come home so early? I looked at my parents. Oh, dearGod. I-i know. This must be my business with Hendra. What do Mom and Dad say when they find out?

Yeah, nevermind. Sooner or later, they'll find out too. I stood up to greet the arrival of my husband's lawyer. I let him sit while waiting for me to pick up the file in the room. The document is still clean I haven't signed, I haven't read it yet.

I took out a pen from inside the drawer and opened it sheet by sheet to find a place that needed my signature. After confirming once again that I was writing in the right place, I kept my pen back and out of the room.

Mr. Oscar received the document and checked it page by page carefully. Not long after, he nodded in satisfaction. He put the map in his bag and said goodbye. He always works efficiently and effectively.

“Nak, what happened?” ask Mama to worry. “Why did your husband's lawyer come here?”

“What document is it?” ask Papa to want to know.

“Papa and Mama don't be mad at Hendra, yes. It's all my fault, not his fault,” I said slowly. “We decided to divorce.”

My parents' response was not what I expected. They were surprised, but that was it. They didn't ask any further questions, protest or anything. They just kept quiet. I feel guilty seeing them look like losers.

“I'm sorry. I've smeared Papa and Mama's good names. Me,” I said sorry.

“No, Ara. It's enough,” said Mama quickly cut me off. “We understand that this is difficult for both of you. This is the best road. Hendra loves you too much. It's impossible for him to take you back. Moreover, you slept with your ex, not an ordinary man.”

“I totally ruined my own life, yeah. I'm so stupid,” my sobs. “If only I would listen to the advice of Papa and Mama.”

“Honey,” says Papa broke Mama.

“No, Pa. I need to tell this to our daughter. As long as he still wants to listen and not be stubborn.” Mama looked at me seriously. “Do not be afraid of pain, Ra. You have to go through it to be able to achieve your happiness. You can't expect everyone to do exactly as you wish you were happy.

“You love Vivaldo, but he doesn't feel the same way about you. Her desire to get married is not as big as your dream to live with her. Then you forced him and urged him to ask for our blessing, of course he did not want to. Did he chase you like he does now? No. gabe. Then why didn't you just decide on her at that moment? Because you're afraid of heartbreak.

“Then you marry Hendra and hope she doesn't love you more. Thats impossible. The more you keep your distance, the more interested you become. And you're angry about it? Look, ‘kan, you fell in love with your husband but you didn't realize it. Because again you are afraid of heartbreak.

“I know you don't want to have another child after going through the pain of giving birth to Hadi. But hugging her and seeing her straight like this, you forgot the pain and expected a second child. Yes, ‘kan? If you're still afraid of pain, you don't deserve Hendra. Because you will be busy protecting your heart by constantly hurting it. He's a good guy. Even though you are my daughter, I do not allow you to hurt her anymore.” Mama said, firmly.

According to Mama's words, I decided not to come at all in our divorce trial. That way, the divorce process can take place faster. We don't need mediation, it's pointless. I couldn't meet him either, worried that I would kneel at his feet and beg him to come back to me.

When the news reached my friends' ears, they came to visit and comfort me. I've never felt so lucky in my life. When my former school and college friends questioned my every decision and blamed me for breaking up my relationship with Aldo, these three best friends of mine didn't. They continue to support me. Unconditionally.

“You know, I envy you,” said Qiana. I shrug my head to hear it. “Hendra loves you so much that he cannot forgive you. I don't have that much love for Helmut. I'm not even as angry as a wife who was betrayed by her husband.”

“Qiana, it's not too late to talk honestly with your husband. But saying that you don't love him is wrong. You love her so much and the fear of losing it is proof of that. As you dare to honestly say envy to Zahara, be honest with your husband and say you are angry and hurt because of his affair,” Lindsey said. Qiana nodded slowly.

“How next? Are you moving out of this house?” ask Darla.

“I was allowed to stay here, at least until I married another man or Hadi was five years old. I don't know what will happen after that,” I replied honestly.

“Then you take good care of your son. We will help what we can help. Even though you will no longer have a husband, you still have us, your best friend,” said Darla. I nodded my head. They hugged me and we cried together.

On the day of the verdict, I was not present at the hearing. But I asked Mr. Oscar to call me and let me hear the judge's verdict. And with one final sentence and a hammer knock, I am no longer Madam Mahendra Satya Mighty.
