The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 69 - The Weakness Is Date

“Stupid! My heart almost stopped worrying about you,” whispered Hendra in my ear. He sounded very angry, but I didn't care. I tightened my embrace. He loosened his embrace, then framed my face with both hands. Not caring about the people around us, he kissed my lips for so long.

“Kak, please. How long do we have to sing this song for Brother to blow his candles?” lamented Zach. “You can continue kissing later. We're all hungry.” His words were greeted with laughter from everyone.

Hendra kept his face away from me without letting go of his embrace. He followed and blew out the three and two candles that were on the cake until they went out. Everyone took turns congratulating him while giving him the gift they had brought. Hendra laughed receiving gifts from everyone. She definitely did not expect to get a gift at this age.

“And this from us.” I gave him a small box. He loved watches so much, so I bought him the latest collection from his favorite watch brand.

“Thank you.” He lowered his head and kissed my lips. My heart is jumping happy to have twice gotten a kiss from her tonight.

“You can open one more gift tonight in the room. If you want it,” I say slowly. He looked at me for a moment. What the hell is he thinking?

“You better eat and stop making us all envious of your affection.” Darla pushed my body, while Lindsey and Qiana together pushed Hendra's body closer to the serving table. “Love will not fill your body.” I laughed hearing that.

“Thank you for preparing this surprise party,” Hendra told my friends.

“Don't thank us. These are all your wife's ideas. We just helped bring a little food.” Qiana glanced at me.

“Cannot be. You also know that he is weak against dates.” Hendra frowned in disbelief. We all laughed. My friends left us, my husband still looked at me asking for answers.

“Did you forget that I could put an alarm on my phone to remind me of today?” many rhetorics. He nodded in understanding.

We filled each plate, then sat down on one of the empty couches. Everyone was enjoying their food. Some eat while standing and some sit. There were even those who did not hesitate to sit on the stairs.

“You are busy preparing all this, it is only fitting that you did not send any message to me this afternoon,” said Hendra slowly. I smiled hearing it. It turned out that he read even expecting a message from me even though he never replied to it.

“You are waiting for a message from me?” I half teased him. He was stunned for a moment.

“I'll say hello to Papa.” He stood with a red face and moved away from me.

Our relationship will slowly improve. Today a lot of things have happened more than I have experienced in the days before. He hugged me, kissed me, and talked a lot with me. I didn't follow him and let him keep his distance from me. He needs. If I insist on sticking to her all night, she won't feel comfortable.

Lindsey, Darla, and their two husbands are having a serious conversation. Maybe Lindsey is asking Darla for advice on what else they need to prepare for her child's marriage. The wedding will be held on a large scale because the bride-to-be is her only child and her parents want to give their best for her.

My mom and dad sat down with both of them. Even though Hendra was chatting together, he listened more. I was happy to see the carefree face of our four parents. Hopefully they are healthy until their grandchildren are born and can play with them later.

What six years has blinded my eyes? I have everything and I continue to ruin what life has given me. I married a man who loved me very much, both in-laws who loved me, the necessities of life were always available, even I could get anything I wanted in the blink of an eye.

The people who looked enviously at me never made me think of being grateful before. I was angry and thought they were just judging my life from the outside. Though I myself am busy looking for mistakes in my life that is almost perfect.

At ten o'clock, one by one the guests start to leave. Hendra and I drove them all to the porch. Their drivers came to pick up their employers. Hendra laughed a little at it.

“So, here's how they hide that there are people gathered at home. They told their driver to go far.” He shook his head.

“If you see their car earlier, then the surprise will fall apart,” I said. Hendra grabbed my shoulder and kissed my temple.

Abdi closed the door and locked it after all the guests came home. Hendra escorted me to my room but he didn't come in with me. He's headed to his own room. I did not complain or protest against his decision. If he still needs time to sleep with me again, then I will give him as much time as he needs.

I put on one of my nightgowns and turned off the entire room light before approaching the bed. After putting my silk coat on the back of the chair, I rushed inside the blanket. I deliberately set the air conditioning temperature at the lowest point I could tolerate while inside the blanket. That's why I quickly lay down.

The door of the room opened, the dark room became bright for a moment. My heart started to beat faster. Hendra's coming. The door was closed followed by footsteps approaching the bed. I didn't move at all and waited for what he would do.

The blanket moved and he lay behind me. One of her hands wiped my hair, then she kissed my neck, down on my shoulder. Since he didn't stop doing it, I turned towards him. We met looking at him for a moment. With the help of the rays from outside the room and my eyes that were already used to the dark room, I could faintly see them.

My eyes closed again as he kissed my lips, enjoying every sensation caused by his touch on my body. Even though his right hand was still being digips, I was not bothered at all. I helped him do everything he could not do on his own because of his limitations.

When the two of us were ready to let go of the longing and become one again, he stopped. I opened my eyes and looked at him sitting on our bed. I covered my body with a blanket feeling the cold air make me shiver. Or maybe it was his cold gaze that had made my body tremble.

For a while we just sat facing each other. Seeing him just sitting still, I helped put his pajamas back on. I approached and hugged her body. He just kept silent, not returning my embrace.

“I'm sorry,” he said in a hoarse voice. “I can't do this.” He kissed my hair, then distanced himself from me. Without saying anything more, he put on his clothes and walked out of the room. Leaving me alone.
