“Did that doctor do something that made you feel angry or scared? Are there the same emotions you feel as when Vivaldo threatened to kill you?” ask Hendra. I remember how I felt this afternoon.
“Maybe I'm a little upset. Gerhard went into Mama's room to check on her condition. His eyes sparkled happily when he saw me. So, I reminded him not to do that again.” If I don't remember wrongly, that's when I first heard Ara's salakan. “I've had a lot of problems because of Vivaldo and Dicky. I don't want the same thing to happen again.”
“Golden Retriever can recognize human emotions well. I love you and all of us. He proved it by helping you when Vivaldo hurt you. He does that because he feels the emotions of all of us who are angry at the same time frightened. I locked him in the living room, but he managed to get out on his own.
“Thank God I didn't lock the door, just shut it. It turns out he can open it himself. So, the same thing that pushed him immediately ran up to you to protect you, dear. Because of that once again, Ara is fine.”
“What is harmless to him? What if one day he bites people, then he is forced to be injected to death?” manyworry.
“He won't hurt innocent people. Don't worry.” Hendra hugged my body. “Come, sleep. I have a lot of work and meetings tomorrow.”
On Saturday, we went to my parents' house. The children would feel more comfortable in their homes at night than we would have left with the servants. Tonight we'll have a meal with Gista and Will.
Mama asked about my mother-in-law's condition, I told her about her latest development. Too bad we haven't been able to take Papa and Mama to see them. I'm afraid my mother-in-law wouldn't like to see my parents visit her. I know that Papa won't mind because our relationship is fine. My mother has not forgiven me.
Will came right at five o'clock in the afternoon. Colin soon joins Hadi and Dira who are playing on the carpet. We told Papa and Mama to go to dinner together. Gista's house was not far from my parents' house. But she refused to be picked up at home, so she waited for us at one of the stops.
Me and Hendra sat in front, so Will could be alone with Gista sitting in the back seat. Will talks a lot about his admiration for Gista and the plans that will be carried out while with him. They sat together, but he was silent. My husband and I exchanged meaningful views.
We stopped at one of the nearby restaurants so as not to wrestle too long on the road. Hendra grabbed my hand as we walked from the parking lot to the dining area. The restaurant is also quite famous because there are only a few tables that are still empty. It wasn't exactly seven o'clock at night.
The waiter took us to a table for four. Me and Hendra sat side by side so Will and Gista had to sit next to us. I watched Gista's movements. It seems he doesn't mind sitting with Will. He instead acted casually choosing a meal with the man.
The handsome Will and the beautiful Gista are truly a physically compatible couple. Hopefully they will also fit emotionally. Hendra dehem slowly caught my attention. I looked up and smiled looking at her pouting face.
“Did you forget that you were dating your husband?” whispered. “Do I have to compete with Will to get your attention?”
“What do you want to eat, baby? The fish menu looks good, do you want to try it? Or do you want shrimp? Oh, this squid looks good.” I opened the menu book in front of us. He looked at me in disbelief. “What's up?” I pretended not to understand.
“I'm sorry, baby. I momentarily forgot that we were fasting.” I put on a face feeling innocent. He brought his face closer.
“Do I need to punish you before going to bed, baby? Hm? Is that what you want?” Her breath tickled my cheek. I'm laughing a little. A Deheman caught our attention.
“Hopefully you do not forget that it is not just the two of you who are at this table.” Will looked at me and Hendra in turn. Gista who sat by his side laughed a little.
Hendra mendehem slowly. “Are you guys ready to order?” He raised his hand for a servant to come and record our order.
My husband and I decided to order a package of chicken meat complete with rice and vegetables. He shook his head slowly for sure because he remembered my proposal to eat seafood. Waiting for the food to come, I wanted to clean my hands for a moment in the bathroom. Gista came with me. I was planning on leaving her with Will.
Seeing no one in the toilet, I approached the sink to wash my hands. I look at my appearance in the mirror. Still neat. Gista cleaned her hands by my side. He smiled happily. The kind of smile I had never seen before on his face.
“What's up, Gista? What makes you so happy?” I asked in a relaxed tone, not wanting to give the impression that I was very curious to know the answer.
“I am reminded of my debate with my sister, Bu.” He walked to the dryer, then placed his hand on the bottom of the object. “I always dreamed that someday I would marry a stranger. My brother laughed at my dream. According to him, it is impossible because I have no acquaintance of strangers.”
Oh, dearGod. I tried so hard to hide my triumphant smile. Gista wants to marry a stranger? This is very good news! Does that mean Will has a big chance of getting his heart?
“Nothing is really impossible in this world if we want to try, Gista.” I blinked my eyes at him. The girl laughed a little. “But are you happy this way because Will or are you thinking of another foreign man?” Suddenly I became a whistle. I forgot that not necessarily the smile was meant for the man.
“Mother don't mention her name too loudly. If she gets to hear this, she'll think that I'm not a good girl.” He turned his head towards the door, worried that someone was listening to our conversation. “He's a widower. For so long living alone, he must have loved his wife so much. I'm not sure a guy like him would be interested in a woman like me.”
I really had to refrain from laughing happily and jumping around on the spot hearing her statement. “Gista, your age is quite far away. Ten years. Are you sure that doesn't matter to you?”
“Married to an older man is even better, Mom. Like Mom with Mr. Mahendra. I hope to be spoiled by husband.” She blushed in shame.
“My age and Hendra's not that far. It's only two years different. After all, would you leave your homeland if he had to return to his country later? Are you ready to get away from your family if he brings you to America after you get married?” Ouch. I'm flabbergasted. Seeing him suddenly speechless, I gulped heavily.
