“You focus on healing first. I won't treat you like my husband, if you can't remember I'm your wife,” I said firmly. “Although we are husband and wife, I will not touch you intimately, so stop seducing me like that.”
“You are fierce also to people who are sick,” he said with a pouting face. I would normally kiss her lips, but I wouldn't do it now. He doesn't remember who I am.
“Goodnight, Hendra.” I opened the door of the room, and left him to rest.
Sakti and Liando immediately stood up as I approached them. I asked Liando to take good care of my husband. She nodded obediently, then me and Sakti walked together away from the door of the room where my husband was.
Our bedroom was empty in his absence. But the feeling of being tired from so much information I had to receive throughout the day made me sleepy. I fell asleep as soon as I laid my body on the bed.
I woke up in the morning to the laughter of the children near me. My eyes are heavy. Unable to sleep anymore, I opened my eyes and met a clear pair of eyes in front of me.
“Mama!!” exclaim Dira happy. I laughed hearing that. Seeing her lying down with me, I immediately hugged her body and kissed her cheek.
“Good morning, Ma!” it was Hadi who hugged me from behind. I hugged them both and showered them with kisses. They laugh happily.
“Have you guys had breakfast? Who helped you guys take a shower?” I just realized they were already fragrant and changed clothes.
“We've had breakfast with Grandpa and Grandma. I took a shower myself, Ma. Dira assisted by Grandma,” Hadi replied proudly. The door opened, we looked there.
“While, what are you doing?” pekik Mom. “Grandma said, don't wake Mama. Let him rest for a little while. Why are you waking up so soon?”
Suddenly, Ara jumped onto the bed. “Ara! Don't!” myrag. But he didn't care, he approached me and kissed me as he pleased. “I haven't had a shower.”
“Better so. After she finishes greeting you, you should take a shower immediately. Your breakfast will be prepared. Do you want a specific meal?” mama asked while taking Dira from my arms.
“No, Ma. Whatever Fahri has prepared I will eat.” I laughed when I felt Ara breathing in my hair. “It's enough, Ara. I have to shower now.”
Mama comes out of the room with Hadi and Dira, while Ara stays in bed. He must be missing his master. I don't know if Hendra can remember a few new things this morning.
After my parents and I persuaded them, Hadi and Dira finally agreed to stay home with their grandparents. I can't take them every day to the hospital and get Zach or Mr. Oscar involved for clearance. Hospitals are not suitable places for children. I don't want them to get sick.
My father arrived at the hospital first. They waited until I came to enter the room to see their son's condition. But before we could get into her room, a nun approached me.
Doctor Andreas asked me to meet him in the neurologist's office who would help me read my husband's MRI. I followed the nurse to the doctor's office with Papa and Mama.
“Good morning, Mahendra. Please sit down,” welcome Doctor Andreas. He also invited Mom and Dad to sit down. In front of us, behind the desk the neurologist had hung the results of Hendra's MRI head. The doctor explained what was in the picture to us.
“So, in conclusion, there are no problems in the head, brain, or nerve tissue shown through the image. The operation worked well, there was no more blood clot. We also took the time to check on the state of the patient this morning.
“Seeing from the slow return of some memory, we don't have to worry about anything. His memory will return. Maybe not everything will be remembered, and that's normal. We also as healthy people forget some important memories because it has long passed,” said the doctor calmed my heart a little.
Hendra did have amnesia, so my guess was wrong. I was hoping he would laugh and greet me this morning and tell me that he was just joking. I hope that he just wants to scare us all.
He just remembered some things about himself, parents, and work. Does he remember anything about me? I hope he remembers the good, not the bad. Yeah, God. I'm so sorry I treated her so badly in the first six years of our marriage. How will he respond when that memory returns?
“So, he can already remember us, Doc?” ask Mama in a happy tone.
“Already, Mom,” replied the neurologist.
The two doctors gave us some advice for Hendra to be comfortable as long as his memory slowly returns. They also gave us some bans that we should not have done that could have prolonged his recovery process. We obey their words.
Mama wanted to meet her son first, so I invited them to come in. I waited in the sitting room with Sakti. The television in the waiting room was on and was airing a news broadcast.
I smiled seeing they finally knew where Hendra was being treated. I won't be able to go home quietly later. I turned towards Sakti and she immediately understood the intent of my gaze. He just shook his head slowly.
Papa came out of the room and invited me to meet my husband. I immediately stood up, then found him and Mama chatting casually. It has long been felt to see them able to speak peacefully without arguing.
“Ah, see him, Ma!” Hendra smiled so happily when he saw me coming. “Do you believe that I am married to Za? He rejected me many times but the miracle was real! She's my wife, Ma! What did I say? We will definitely marry.”
“You remember that incident?” mama asked, looking at me and her son.
“Sit here, darling.” Hendra patted the edge of his bed. He remembered me? But why did he remember such a far-reaching part? “Iya. I remember that I loved her very much, unfortunately she already had a boyfriend. I don't know what happened so he prefers me.”
“You've been married for twelve years, Son,” Mama said.
“Iya, Mother. Za said that to me last night.” He looked at me with a frown. “What's up, baby? Why don't you sit by my side. Last night you wanted to sit here with me.” I also obey him.
“Have you had breakfast and taken your morning medicine?” askaku.
“Already. It doesn't taste good. Did you bring lunch for me?” He looked at my hand. “I'm not sure I'll appetite hospital food again.” Mama laughed a little that I was sure because she remembered her own actions.
“Ng, yes. I brought food. Fahri has prepared a special menu for you.” I showed it to the door. Sakti's guarding our food box. He glanced behind me.
“Oh, yes? I like the fish. Hopefully he cooks the same menu.” He looks so cheerful. It was very different from his attitude last night who was still careful. This is Hendra in the first year we got married. Hendra I haven't hurt by my betrayal.
Yeah, God. If remembering me for the first time made him this happy, would the same be true when he remembered my betrayal for the first time? Will he be angry when he finds out that Vivaldo and I slept together six years ago?
