Chapter 170 - The Final Preparation

I felt a little jealous of the attention Mama gave Nora. He made a mistake and Mama quickly forgave him. Not with me and my mistakes. I quickly took my mind off the bad stuff. I have enough pity for myself. If I can only have Hendra, it's okay. He's enough.

“Good.” Claudia relented.

“I'm hungry. We have lunch?” I asked when I heard Hadi and Colin's voice entering the house. They tidied up their belongings and we headed for the dining room.

“I was so happy to watch that press conference. Nora deserves it. Although I'd rather see him in jail.” Qiana smiled in satisfaction, then sighed softly.

“His family is quite influential. It is not easy to punish him if the problem is only about defamation.” Darla chimed. “But seeing him confess his deed and apologize, that was enough. He humiliated Zahara, then he was humiliated.”

“But I don't understand. Why can Zahara's case be horrendous, whereas she's not?” lindsey was confused. “I didn't read no slanted comments about him. Lindset shakes his head not understanding. “Nora's crimes are bigger than the mistakes Zahara made. I understand that he still needs time to forgive our best friend. But why did Aunt Naava keep siding with the woman?”
