The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 75 - I Shame You

Hendra immediately grabbed Mama and took her out of the room. Papa followed. I tried to equalize the pace with them, but couldn't. Zach and Rasmi came closer as I was going down the stairs and helped me. I look around me. The house is empty. There are only my friends and their husbands.

These kind women must hate me now. Even Claudia who had just been so happy to give my son a gift and praise me would definitely not like me anymore. Everyone knows how dirty I am. Dirt that should be shunned.

Kafin drove the car carrying my husband and parents, while Zach and Rasmi took me and followed them not far from the back. I could only cry in the arms of my future sister-in-law. If something bad happens to Mama, I'll regret it for a lifetime. I'm the one who's been causing Mama's pain again.

“Sister, you're pregnant. Don't make it difficult for yourself with negative thoughts. Mama's gonna be fine. Mama is a strong woman,” Zach reminded me. “So, you also have to be strong.”

“You still think of me as your brother after hearing Aldo's talk?” I just don't believe it. “I've embarrassed you.”

“I wouldn't even be surprised if it was true that the child was his. You've loved her for a long time. I don't know what made you finally agree to marry Hendra, but we're the same, brother. It is not easy to let go of someone we once loved. No matter how painful the wound he has inflicted,” Zach said. I sobbed.

“I'm sorry. I beg you all, forgive me,” I said.

Arriving at the emergency department, we immediately looked for Mama in every room available. The nurse immediately asked us out when we entered the right room. Only Papa is allowed to remain in the nursery. My husband came closer, I immediately retreated away from him.

“Honey, I'm not mad at you.” He smiled at me. I looked at him not understanding. “The man intentionally did this and you are innocent. Stop blaming yourself, you also do not need to stay away from me.” When he approached me again, I did not dodge. My tears broke while inside her arms.

“I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Hendra,” my isak begs for his forgiveness.

“I've forgiven you, baby. Had enough. Stop apologizing,” whispered.

After checking on Mama's condition, the doctor scolded us all. Mama's condition could be worse if we arrived late. We were asked not to give him bad news or excessive happy news that made his heart work harder than usual.

The mother will be treated for several days until she is stable enough to be treated at home. We were all told to go home so we could rest. Hendra rents a room in the hospital for Papa so he can be the first person to come when Mama needs something. Zach and Rasmi go home to take Papa and Mama's needs from home.

The happy day turned into a disaster. I really hope from today everything can go normally. Recovering as before. My relationship with Hendra can go on as usual. Parents can calmly look forward to the birth of their first grandchild. My friends also feel the happiness that my little family has.

But everything was destroyed. My mother got sick because of me. My two in-laws didn't even bother coming after me to the hospital. They must hate me and my family so much right now. My friends must be ashamed of my actions and I will not be surprised if they do not want to see me again.

The view in the courtyard of the house dismissed my bad thoughts. My friends' cars are still in our yard. Hendra helped me out of the car and we got into the house together. My friends welcomed my arrival. They all looked at me worriedly.

“Is Her Aunt okay?” ask Darla to worry.

“Mama is fine. He will stay a few days in the hospital until his condition is stable.” Hendra answered.

“How about you guys? Are you guys okay?” ask Lindsey.

“We are fine.” Hendra let go of his hand and grabbed my shoulder. “You must be tired. Sorry, it made you wait.”

“Thank you very much, Qiana,” said Hendra.

“Zahara, are you okay?” ask Darla. I ventured to raise my head and look at him. I nodded slowly. “We'll come again tomorrow. I'll bring you many of your favorite fruits and spices.”

“I will bring a lot of ice cream,” said Qiana chimed.

“And I will bring cake as well as bread,” Lindsey said.

“What are you talking about?” claudia asked confusedly.

“We will come here tomorrow and mention what food we will bring,” replied Lindsey. Claudia seemed to think for a moment.

“I'll bring pizza! I won't miss your dinner party tomorrow,” he said girang.

“Why? Why do you still want to come? Aren't you shy about being friends with someone like me?” I can't hold my sobs anymore.

Friends came closer. Hendra let go of his embrace so they could hug me. I can only cry. I lied to them. When they were so honest in telling me their problems, I covered up my flaws instead. My Aibku was exposed in front of many people.

“Hey, the wrong one is that man. He has no right to humiliate you in front of so many people in your own home. You should have kicked him out or reported him to the police. Everyone makes mistakes and that is normal. You are just a human being, Zahara.” Claudia tried to cheer me up.

“I'm sorry. I apologize to all of you,” my sobs.

“Enough, stop crying. You need a break. Pay attention to your health as well as your baby. We'll talk about this tomorrow.” Darla wiped my face. They also appear to shed tears.

They took turns hugging and kissing my cheeks. Hendra and I stood on the porch until their car came out of our yard. My husband invited Abdi and all the workers to rest, and we walked up the stairs.

Hendra said nothing about today's incident. He just told me to clean up, then get ready for bed. But I can't sleep. I could just sit on the edge of the bed, waiting until he finished his bath. The scent of soap immediately filled the room as the bathroom door opened.

“Why don't you lie down?” tanyanya. He sat next to me.

“Are we okay?” I looked into both of his eyes.

“We are fine.” He caressed my cheek. My tears came out hearing that sentence. “Are you afraid I'll stay away from you again because of this?” I'm nodding.

“I was scared when I woke up tomorrow, you've been going out of town again for a long time.”
