The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 226 - Stay on His Side

I've never dealt with the tacit investigation that Hendra's expertise was. He always knew what to check first, who to supervise, and so on. I don't know where to start. In that case, how would I know who was behind the accident?

News of the accident filled a variety of media, both electronic and online. I am so grateful that no one mentioned the name of the hospital where my husband was. But this is only temporary. I'm sure tomorrow the reporters will find out. They just follow whoever comes out of our house secretly who will definitely come here.

When we got home, the children and I ate in silence. Dira did not understand why we looked sad, so she called me and Hadi with happy faces. I don't know how to explain his papa to him.

Dira was able to sleep well, but it took me a long time to accompany Hadi in his room that night. He wanted his father to come home and be with us again. I promised that her papa would definitely come home, but when exactly depended on her own desire to heal.

May his love for me be great enough to give him a boost soon to recover.

Once in the room, I immediately opened the tablet and read some articles about head injuries. I was a little daunted when I found out that the bleeding could have left her with paralysis or losing one of her five senses.

Other articles even mention that recovery from bleeding in the brain can take a long time, depending on the patient's condition. Some even take years to recover as usual. Oh, dearGod. How'this?

No. gabe. I can't be scared like this. Hendra is still able to survive and surviving the operating table is what I was hoping for. If she had to experience paralysis and lose one of her bodily functions, I would still be by her side. It is not time to think about the bad. I have to think of positive things as suggested by the doctor.

We all gathered in front of the ICU room on Sunday afternoon, waiting for Hendra to open his eyes. I was by her side when she opened her eyes the first time, but she went back to sleep. The doctor said it wasn't something I should worry about.

His breathing apparatus and heart detector were removed because he was able to breathe on his own and his heartbeat was normal. The doctor only needs to know his condition when he is fully conscious to be able to decide whether to move him to the ward or stay in the ICU.

“How are you doing, Kafin?” I asked him when he and his wife came. I stood up and greeted them both.

“My head is still sick, but medicine helps to reduce the pain, Madam. My wife helped bring down my fever last night. I'm fine now,” said Kafin.

“Why did you guys come here? You should just rest at home as long as you haven't healed,” I said worriedly.

“He is getting sicker because he is worried about Mr. Madam,” replied his wife. “This is my husband's best attitude. While at home earlier he continued to worry about the Big Master.”

“Thank you, Kafin. Be sitting. We wait for him to wake up.” I shifted so that he and his wife could get to the empty seat.

Papa and Gista were seen talking seriously in one corner, not far from where I was sitting. They must be discussing the state of the company. For a while, Hendra will not be able to work and that means there is a void at the highest position. I'm sure Papa will replace his son for a while.

My next concern is Mama. If Papa returns to work, then no one can accompany Mama at home. He is also in the recovery stage. Moreover, Mama needs to check herself a few more days to know if her body is still clean from cancer.

A nurse came out of the ICU room, and told us that Hendra was conscious and all his motor condition was good. So, he was moved to the inpatient room. He asked us to come with him. We all sighed in relief.

Papa held Dira, while I held Hadi's hand. We walked together to the room where my husband was. I can't wait to hug and kiss her again. Ah, naw. The doctor won't let me do that. Mouth is where there are germs, I can't smell them today.

“This is still the beginning, Zahara,” Papa said. “You've seen how your mother-in-law's condition is after surgery. The same thing you will experience with Nak Hendra. That brain injury is not a minor illness, we don't yet know how long it will take him to recover. You have to be patient with him.”

“Iya, Pa,” I said according to. I've read a few articles about it, so, like it or not, I have to be ready for what we're going to do to help speed up his recovery.

The nurse stopped at a door and asked that only two people be allowed to enter. They all look towards me. I knelt down and spoke to Hadi. He'll have his turn to see his father later. The first to enter was her grandmother and me. He nodded according.

I looked towards my mother-in-law who was looking at me with teary eyes. Papa whispered something to her, then Mama took a deep breath. Mama nodded towards Papa before approaching me. The nurse opened the door and we entered the room.

The room was very clean and the incoming light was not too dazzling. The bed is on the left side of the room with a nightstand and small cabinets lined up on either side. In front of us was a window with a three-seat sofa under it. To the right of the room was a sideboard, a flat-sailing television, and a door that I was sure headed for the bathroom.

Hendra was lying down with his eyes closed. Is he sleeping again? I saw the infusion still on the left side of the bed. It seems like he has not eaten or wants to eat. Mama and I approached the bed.

My husband's face looks a little better. Scratches of broken glass on his face are not red anymore, the bruise is also not blackish anymore. Mama just looked at him, so I started first. I touched his hand. His hands feel warm.

“Honey, are you listening to us?” askaku. Both of his eyes moved. Not long after, his eyes opened. He looked up at the ceiling with a frown. It seemed like he was trying to recognize the circumstances around him.

“Hendra ..” Mama ventured by touching her hands as well. His son looked towards him. “How are you doing, son? Do you still feel pain? Do you want to eat something? Zahara brought some of your favorite foods cooked by Fahri.” He just kept quiet. My mom and I exchanged looks.

“Honey, we can't stay here long. There are many people waiting for their turn to meet you. We'll talk at length later.” I put the back of his hand to my cheek. “Thank you for waking up and coming back to me.”

She slowly turned her head towards me and I could not understand her eyes. I don't see any emotion there. There was no look of love, longing, or admiration that I had always seen in her eyes. He looked at me coldly.

“You can put my hand down now,” he said half growling. I was stunned for a moment. “What right do you have to touch me like this? And why are you in this room? I won't let you in. Are you guys cheaters? Hendra, Zahara, Fahri, who is it all ...?”

“Honey, it's me, Zahara. I am your wife. And you are Hendra. Husband.” I looked towards Mama. “And this is Aunt Naava. Your biological mother.”

“Wife? I don't have a wife. You are not my wife.” He looked at me with disdain, then turned to look at Mama. “And she's not my mother. You two can let go of my hand now.” Mama sobbing. Whatisthis? Why did he say that he had no wife and that Mama was not his mother?
