“Hai, Zahara. I thought I was your friend. Why didn't you invite me to this show?” ask Dicky. He extended his hand to me.
“You weren't invited, so that means you're not his friend. Why are you coming?” Hendra immediately stood between the two of us, blocking the man from walking closer.
“To my knowledge, Zahara is the host of this. Who are you to dare to be disrespectful like this?” dicky asked Hendra. Is he serious about that? This house is Hendra's house, not mine.
“You need to be polite, Dicky.” Helmut. “Hendra is the host in this house. And if you don't know, they've made up. Please, don't bother Zahara again.”
“Nown? They're still divorced, so I still have a chance to get close to Zahara,” Dicky said. She's staring. “Za, are you serious about making up with people who have wasted your life for the past five years? I am always present in your times of joy and sorrow. Where is he? Out there with another woman. Don't you know?”
Before Hendra could say anything, Helmut placed his hand on Dicky's chest and pushed him out of the room. The man protested but did not make any fuss. Qiana looked at me apologetically. How else, what happened has happened.
“Did my wife ever give her hope? Just a little.” Hendra looked at my best friend, one by one. “He looks very sure that his feelings are reciprocated.”
“Zahara never gave him hope. She repeatedly invites him to talk or meet, Zahara always rejects him. Always,” Darla replied firmly. “You can see how diligently Aldo approached him first. Same with Dicky. There are still other men, but they have given up.”
“There are still other men?” Hendra looked at me in protest. “I think there's no more secrets between us, baby.”
“It's not a secret.” I rolled my eyeballs. “You've known for a long time that there are a lot of men who are interested in me. That's why you kept me so tight during our time together.”
“Is there any other man besides that man that I need to be aware of?” Hendra looked back at my three best friends. They shake their heads.
“How about you?” Darla crossed her hands in front of her chest. “Is there another woman out there that you give hope to? I heard from Qiana, recently you were seen with a young, beautiful, and rich woman in a restaurant.”
My two friends did the same. They crossed their arms in front of their chests. “I don't have time for women. What Qiana saw was the woman my mother approached me with. But I'm not interested in him.” Hendra wrapped his hands around my waist. “You already know that there is only one woman I love in this world.”
“Oh, yes?” ask Darla suspiciously. “The woman will not keep trying if it is true you never gave her hope.” I'm laughing a little.
“I'm welcome to the bathroom for a minute.” Hendra looked at me with a clear face, but I couldn't hold back any longer. He had to face my friends who questioned his loyalty when we were separated. After all, he himself started the topic.
Using the bathroom in our room will take longer, so I decided to go to the toilet behind the house. The voice of the conversation between the two men stopped my steps. Dicky and Helmut. Why is that guy still here?
“Please, go, Dicky. What you're doing is not right. Hendra and Zahara did not invite nor did they want your presence here. How many times do I have to say this?” tanya Helmut sounded frustrated. I hid behind a pillar to hear their conversation.
“There are a lot of people in this house, why am I the only one who got kicked out?” ask Dicky offended. “I'm disappointed in you, Helmut. You should have told me that you were coming to this house. Not even cancel our plans and then secretly come here.”
“What do you mean? They invited me, not you. Why did I tell you about this show?” ask Helmut confused. “Listen, from the beginning I always said that Zahara is not for you. She already has a husband. You don't talk like I'm pushing you closer. Even when we were campaigning, I strictly forbade you from approaching him.”
“No, Dicky. You can't go back there.” I heard footsteps approaching me. “Ah, Liando, help me. Sakti, you too.”
“Let go of me!” dicky Protest. They then passed through the pillar where I was. Liando and Sakti half dragged Dicky out of my house. Helmut rushed to open the front door, then closed it again. I hid myself so they couldn't see me.
What's this problem again? I never gave her any hope, why would she behave like that? Hendra could have misunderstood if he had been here listening to them talk earlier. What is there to me until a man is possessive? She's not even my lover.
Hendra was the only one I allowed to do that to me. I understand more and more why he would rather be hated by people for being too protective of me than risk letting them just shake hands with me. Dicky and Aldo are proof of that.
Do I have to dress shabbily and be mean to everyone so they won't be attracted to me? Every time I'm friendly to the opposite sex, they assume that I'm attracted to them?
Someone hugged me from behind making me scream in surprise. “What did my wife do in this place by herself? Hiding so your friends can interrogate me as much as they do?” I laughed hearing that. He kissed my cheek. “You better be prepared to accept the punishment tonight.”
“Hendra, do you seriously do it every night?” many surprised.
“If I could, I want to do it all day. But my wife's body will not be strong enough to bear it. Just twice have you fallen asleep.” He put his hand on my cheek, then pointed my face at him so he could kiss my lips.
“Mama! Mama! Papa!” The sound of the children approaching us was followed by a dog salakan. Hendra complained softly about having to end our kiss. I laugh. “We're done swimming.”
“I'll help Hadi, you help Dira.” Hendra steals one more kiss before climbing the stairs leading upstairs.
Finished helping Dira take a shower and change clothes, I took care of the personal thing that had been delayed. Hendra and Hadi picked us up so we could go downstairs together. I saw my friends walking out of the room where the show was.
“Hendra, Zahara, something's going on. Come on, hurry, we go to the family room,” said Darla in a hurry. Hendra and I exchanged looks. We took the children with us to the room they were going to.
Lindsey immediately turned on the television looking for a channel out of nowhere, then stopped at a show. I read the big writing on the screen. “Press Conferences - Random PHK.” As soon as I saw Sherry's face, I turned towards Hendra.
“Father Mahendra Satya Perkasa of Satya Perkasa Group has sacked me unilaterally for no apparent reason. I have worked as an employee at his company for over seven years. My work is very good, even the HR department found no reproach. I have reported to the Provincial Labor Service for this case to be followed up. I invite my fellow journalists to watch over my fight for justice.”
“Wow, Hendra.” Edu looked at my husband with a look of admiration. “I hope you are ready in this war and save the evidence to fight his statement.”
“Dealing with employees who do not accept the dismissal, then coupled with involving the relevant agencies, you need a miracle to win, Hendra,” added Giovanni.
Edu and Giovanni are businessmen too like Hendra. They must understand that what my husband is facing is not an easy thing. The woman really did not give up. He failed when he came to meet Hendra at the villa. Now he uses another way. What would happen if his request to return to work as my husband's secretary was granted?
