Chapter 196 - The Air of Peace

Annora and her family came down an hour later. They are already clean and fresh. We accompanied them to eat. The children asked for a fruit salad, then I asked Yuyun to serve it. Hendra and I just asked for a glass of water. We were still full after dinner with us.

Fahri cooked Indonesian food at their request. During their stay at the hotel, they rarely eat local food. Hotels serve more western cuisine that has become their daily food in their own country.

“Hmm …. The air of peace is refreshing, huh?” annora took a deep breath. I laughed hearing that. “I'm so grateful to be able to find that woman's weakness at the right time. He won't be able to interfere with your lives anymore.”

“How can you convince her family that Nora is not her parents' child? Did you secretly do a DNA check and then give the results to them?” aska I want to know. Annora shook her head slowly.

We didn't stay awake for too long because everyone was already sleepy after a few minutes we sat together in the sitting room. Helping the children perform their bedtime ritual for a while, Hendra and I entered our room together. We cleaned our faces and brushed our teeth together in the bathroom.

“Are you going to London anytime soon?” let me just remember that serious conversation I had with Xavier.

“Not anytime soon.” My eyes looked at his chest as he undressed. A floating T-shirt covered my face blocking me from enjoying the sight for longer. I threw the shirt back at him. She laughs. “You want to come?”

“What children will also come with us?” I opened the dress I was wearing and felt her looking at me with her hungry eyes. What we can do, we can only make each other tempted but can't go too far. The drama ended as soon as we put on our own nightgowns.

“Bby. This will be our next holiday trip.” He suddenly lifted my body and carried me to the bed. I screamed softly, then laughed with her. I put my hand around her neck and kissed her lips. “What do you think?”

“I agree! When is the plan we will go?” I shifted after he put me in bed. He opened the blanket, then lay down by my side.

“If there are no obstacles, maybe next month. We should see the progress of Mama's recovery first. Later this month the doctor will check if any cancer is back growing. If not, then we are safe to go. If you find any cells left behind, you know that you will need you as long as she undergoes chemotherapy or radiation.” I'm nodding.

“Speaking about Mama, I forgot to tell you. Nora will never come again to disturb our lives. Mama told him never to come again.”

“Finally, Mama's eyes were open as well. Is there a new woman that Mama has prepared for me?” He's laughing a little. I looked at him in disbelief.

“You also suspect that Mama will prepare another girl for you?”

“I'm worried. What if you will be interested in one of them later?”

“Mama seems to be using the next new strategy. She brought me closer to one of her doctors,” I said quietly.

“Which doctor?”

“Doctor Gerhard.”

“Your SMU friend? Let it. You don't have to be offended by your attitude or your words. Okay well? Because it's not important. The most important thing is that I choose you.” He hugged me tightly. I smiled happily. “I love you, baby.”

“I love you more.”

That morning, Hendra left earlier than usual. There was an important meeting he had to attend with the other businessmen in the mayor's office. Hadi went to school as usual and he reminded me of my promise to take him to see his grandmother. I nodded in understanding.

Annora and her family woke up longer than we could understand. The time zone in their country with this country is seven hours different. They should still be sleeping when we have started the morning activity. They wanted to go to Mom's house. There was still enough time to catch their flight back to London when we had lunch with my in-laws at their home.

Liando and Sakti drove us in two cars because we couldn't be in the same one plus all three of their suitcases. After all they need one car to drive them to the airport later. Xavier refuses but Hendra forces him to accept the favor.

My two in-laws welcomed Xavier and Annora with happy faces. They had known the couple long before I knew them. Seeing that Liam and Jax had already grown into handsome teenagers, Mama was endlessly staring at them in awe. I laughed seeing Papa could be jealous too.

“I'm happy to see Aunt recover quickly,” Annora said cheerfully after hearing Papa and Mama's story about Mama's health condition. “Om is very good to accompany Aunt and take care of her as well. Xavier wouldn't bother like this for me. He would have preferred to hire a nurse so he could keep an eye on his company.” Annora glanced at her husband who was just laughing.

“We came here to see the state of Aunt Naava. Why are you talking about me, baby? Are you that loving to me that you can't forget me for a second?” Xavier seduces his wife.

The door was knocked and a servant came in to tell him that lunch was ready. Mama replied to call us again when Hadi arrived. The woman complied and walked out of the room. We continued our casual conversation.

Not long after, the front door opened, a sign that a guest was coming. I glanced at my watch. It must be Hadi and Colin. It's past their school hours. The door of the room opened again and the presence of the woman confirmed my conjecture. But there was another voice that caught my attention. Crying sounds.

Hadi and Colin appeared in the doorway. My son came in with a guilty face, and Colin was sobbing. Will won't like it when he finds out that his only son is crying when he's not around. We all exchanged glances not understanding.

“Colin, what's wrong? What happened?” askaku who stood up then approached him and Hadi. He just cried as much. “Hadi, what happened in the car? Why is your best friend crying?”
