The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 225 - He Must Live

Hendra lost so much blood that they needed a donor. Fortunately, Hendra and Zach's blood types are the same. They had no trouble getting blood for my husband. The operation went on for quite a while and we are both concerned about the situation.

I'm sitting between Zach and Rasmi. They each hold my hand. I stopped crying, but my tears fell. I know that Hendra is not dead, and I shouldn't feel this sad. He's still fighting on the operating table.

“Doctor!” exciting Zach. I immediately turned to him, then to the direction he looked. A man dressed in green stood in front of the operating room door.

I stood up but my legs were limp. Zach held my hand, I thanked him. We approached the doctor with our family. The doctor looked at us in wonder. Our numbers are indeed very large, especially my friends and their husbands also came.

“Ng, who is Mr Mahendra's family?” ask the doctor.

“I,” answered me, Zach, my parents, and my in-laws simultaneously. The doctor rolled his eyes.

“I'm sorry, I mean, who's Mr Mahendra's wife?” The man corrected the question.

“I, Doc,” answer me quickly. The man smiled at me.

“Operation succeeded. The bleeding in his head we stopped. To help recover faster we induced Mr. Mahendra. For a while we'll put him in the ICU. We discussed this with your family doctor over the phone.

“Sir Mahendra is healthy and young, so hopefully his recovery will be quick. But I can't say more for now. We need to wait until the patient is aware to know what are the side effects of the accident.”

“Can we see it, Doc?” askaku expectantly.

“Bby. Only one person per visit. The nurse will come as soon as you can see her. I hope you all go home after seeing Mr. Mahendra's condition because he won't wake up until tomorrow afternoon or afternoon.” The doctor saw us all. “I excuse me.”

“Thank you very much, Doctor,” I said slowly. She smiles.

“It's been my duty, Mom. You must be strong and think positive so that your husband is also encouraged to recover soon.” I nodded to hear it.

We sat back and waited for the nurse to come and let us see Hendra's situation. Even though the danger was over, we were still worried because Hendra was in a coma. Thankfully, at least the operation went well.

When a nurse came out of the ICU, she mentioned my husband's name. I approached Mama and let her see her son first. She looked at me in disbelief, but with watery eyes, she followed the nurse into the room.

Papa immediately greeted Mama who was sobbing as she walked out of the room. I gave Papa the next chance, but he refused. He wanted to calm Mama down first. I braced myself and entered the room.

The nurse showed me the clothes I should wear with gloves, headgear, and a mask. After I put on all that, she pointed at the special sandals I could wear that were on the floor. I obey.

The room was very large with several rooms filled by sleeping patients. Hendra was in a special room with glass surrounding his room. The nurse opened the door and I entered.

I almost fainted seeing how he was. There were so many needles plugged into his skin, then the monitoring machine was on his left. Bandaged head. I couldn't see any other wounds on her body because she was wearing a special patient gown. I didn't dare touch her either, worried that I would hurt her.

“Hey, stupid husband. I told you, take care of your emotions. Look, what happened to you for not obeying my words,” I said quietly. “When this is purely an accident, I accept. But if someone intentionally harms you, you see. I will definitely reply tenfold.”

I quickly wiped away the tears that almost fell on my cheek. “Please laugh. Laugh as you like. I know that you think I am a weak woman who only dares to give empty threats.”

Yeah, God. I miss fighting with him again. Seeing him just be quiet like this I felt like I was dreaming. The mighty, intelligent, vibrant Hendra was lying helplessly on this couch. After several hours of not hearing her voice, I had to wait a day to see her open her naughty eyes.

“I have to go now. I love you so much, baby. Don't make me wait for you any longer. Come back to me soon,” I whispered before coming out of the glass chamber.

One by one my family went to see Hendra. Everything came out with an increasingly sad face. I-i understand. Hendra who we know is healthy and energetic was only this time in a state of illness. So, it was not easy to see him in a helpless state.

“We will also go home after seeing his condition and pray for his recovery,” Lindsey said. “Hendra needs you when he wakes up. And he needs you to stay in good health.”

I obey their words. Kafin went home with his wife. He needs to rest. He's on holiday on the weekend anyway. I asked him to obey whatever the doctor ordered him to recover immediately, his health insurance will pay all the costs of his treatment until he recovers.

Liando's taking me home. The house is still empty. I asked Liando to rest and do nothing until he woke up. Then I headed to my own room. Five years I've been lying alone in this room, but it feels different when it comes to being alone again.

After cleansing myself, I lay down and tried to sleep. My body is tired, my soul is too, maybe those two reasons that make me slumber. Because when I wake up, the digital clock shows at one o'clock in the afternoon.

I pushed my body into a sitting position and looked around me. Like a flashback to a movie, it happened in my head. I remember what happened last night until this morning before I went to bed. Before I started to cry thinking about the circumstances that befell us, I immediately cleaned my face and brushed my teeth.

After changing clothes, I headed to the dining room. I heard the sound of the television in the living room ringing. Looks like the kids are there. Abdi and Fahri immediately served me by serving food on the table.

“Thank you. Have the kids had breakfast and lunch?” askaku.

“Already, Mistress. I need to tell you that Sakti is guarding the Great Lord in the hospital,” Abdi said. I looked at him confused.

“For what? He is in the ICU room, no one will be able to enter keeping him inside.”

“Government Mr. Adhyana, Mistress,” the answer is brief. “The accident is still under investigation, so there needs to be someone on guard if someone deliberately wants to harm Mr.”

“Good.”

“Mistress, if you don't mind, we'd like to take turns going to the hospital to see the state of the Great Lord,” he asked in a reticent tone.

“You don't need to ask for my permission. Go awayl. Then who will be on guard tonight?” my many.

“Liando asks him to be on guard tonight, Madam.” I nodded to hear it. If they've decided, I won't interfere.

Since being honest is better than lying, I took the kids with me to the hospital that afternoon. Along with Abdi and one of the security officers who wanted to visit Hendra. We were silent all the way. So too with Hadi. Only Dira was still asking about the things that caught her attention outside the car window.

Mr. Oscar helped get permission from the hospital for the kids to come in. I'm just going to bring Hadi to see his father's situation, while Dira is still too small. I'm afraid he'll get a disease when he gets into the ICU even though the room is sterile.

I let them get into the ICU first. When they came out, they gave the same expression. Their faces looked pale as if they were seeing ghosts. Hendra is fine. He should be fine. I won't let him get away from me.

The nurse invited me to accompany Hadi when it was her turn to enter. I helped her put on a special dress and all her gear, and then we were escorted to the glass room. If this morning his face and body were covered with bluish bruises, then this afternoon it looks blackened. The scratches on his face were red like blood.

Hadi cried to see the state of his papa. I tried to comfort her that her dad would be fine. The critical period is over and he will recover soon. He was worried about seeing needles, bandages, and breathing apparatus covering his nose and mouth. After I explained, he calmed down.

“How about the results of the police investigation at the scene, Sir?” I asked Mr. Oscar when we got together with them again in the waiting room.

“Temporary conclusion, it was just an accident. They found no indication of the intentional nature of the car or truck tire tracks. But these results could change after seeing CCTV footage later,” he said. I'm not satisfied to hear that.

“I'm not sure this was just an accident, sir. Kafin has never been careless in driving,” said I disagree with the interim conclusion.

“I know, Mom. Zach and I suspect the same thing. We even discussed with Gista to know who would like to harm Mr. Mahendra,” he said agreed.

I know who would want to harm my husband. There are a lot of people out there that I know don't like as much as their rivals. But only this one person has been consistently present in my husband's life lately. The thing is, I can't accuse without evidence.
