The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 156 - Lucky

“I really hope the girl is her,” isak Claudia in her husband's arms. “Poor Clarissa. What if he's alive and alone out there?”

They did not find the girl that Claudia had seen in the harbor earlier. My best friend admitted that she saw a little girl about five years old with blond hair passing by the gate. But as he ran towards the direction where he saw her, the girl was nowhere to be.

Mason and my friends have been trying to find him, too. Unfortunately, they could not go far as the ship was about to depart. And here we are, sitting together on a boat to the other side of the island.

The lake breeze was extremely cold even though the sun was shining with scorching heat. White clouds clumped in space occasionally blocking sunlight. And the water is so blue that it reflects the color of the sky. But sadness makes us ignore the beauty of nature around us.

Hendra brought Hadi and Dira near the fence so they could see the lake view. I could hear the happy screams of the children enjoying the strong winds and seeing nothing under the ferry. My husband held them both tightly.

“Grandma,” greet Charlotte. I looked back at my best friend. “Do not cry. Grandma can hug Polly so as not to be sad again.” He gave her the rabbit doll. Claudia smiling. He wiped his cheeks, then lifted the grandson into his lap.

“I'd rather hug you, Char. Thank you.” Claudia hugged her grandson and kissed him. We all exchanged looks and smiled with relief.

Arriving in Tomok, the driver drove a car for a few minutes to the inn Hendra was referring to. We went back to the hotel where my husband and I had stayed. I really like this place even I recommend it on my blog. Claudia is back. He immediately led his grandson towards the edge of the lake. We let the men take care of our room.

“This is what I call a vacation!” claudia was happy. He opened both of his hands wide while breathing a deep breath.

Hadi pulled me towards the wooden bridge towards the small island where there was a gazebo complete with seating. Friends follow us. Taking shelter in the gazebo, we enjoyed the lake breeze and felt closer to nature.

“This place is beautiful once,” whispered Qiana slowly. I nodded slowly.

“On weekends, there are usually many people staying here. Those who board the passenger boat can directly dock at the available place. They don't have a place where cars can go, so the ferry can't dock here either,” I explained.

“They have their own swimming place, so we don't have to worry about children.” Lindsey looked to our right side where there were stairs to get to the lake.

Hendra came to inform us that our room was in order and invited us to lunch. The food they serve is very good. It's not as good as Fahri's, but I won't complain. Claudia and Mason also did not mind the taste of the cuisine.

Our room was side by side, so the children slept in the room next to us. There is a door that becomes a link so Hadi and Dira do not have to fear being away from us. Hendra did not ask for our two beds to be replaced with larger single beds. He even took the opportunity to sleep together in bed for one person.

“How can I move freely while sleeping when lying this close to you?” I complained as we took a break.

“You never complain of sleeping this close to me in our big bed,” he said casually. “Sleep. Aren't you tired? I'm just tired of it.”

I relented and let him sleep holding me so tightly that I was not free to move. Usually I like our sleeping position, but the body is big. The size of this bed was only enough to accommodate his body. I was worried about falling when I moved a little.

But when he fell asleep, I did not get tired of staring at his peaceful face. He's not handsome, I have to admit. Vivaldo is my favorite type of man physically. Dicky was even more handsome. But I'm no longer interested in the outside. They don't understand. I'm no longer a teenage girl who loves men from their outer charms.

Although in the eyes of others Hendra was unattractive, his soul was extremely beautiful. Things that many will never understand. For them, he is an arrogant, selfish man, has no feelings, is willing to do anything to get what he wants. To me, he was a loving lover, a great father, and a responsible man. His looks can be deceiving, but he's great in bed. That will be my secret.

“Are you satisfied to admire my face?” ask Hendra who I think is still sleeping. I laughed hearing that. “Are you not tired, baby?”

“I can't sleep,” I replied honestly.

“Good. I'll move to the next bed.” I immediately restrained her body by tightening my embrace. She laughs.

“Then, why can't you sleep?”

“I'm thinking about how lucky I am to have a husband like you.”

“I've said often, you won't regret marrying me,” she said arrogantly. I let go of my embrace and intended to sit down, this time it was him who was blocking me from moving. “Why are you so easily angry? Anyway I said honestly.”

“Sayang?” my many. He mumbled slowly. “Are you not tired of living with me?” He shook his head. “Are you not interested in trying a new life with another woman?” He shook his head again. “Women named Nora is beautiful too.”

“You're prettier.” He opened his eyes and kissed my lips. “If you only want to discuss unimportant things like this, we'd better get up.” The sound of Dira's crying. “Hadi must have teased him again. I'll take them swimming.”

My husband helped the children change clothes, then they joined hands towards the lake. I locked our room and followed them. One by one my friends came. We sat together in the recliner looking at the beauty of the lake, while the husbands and children were engrossed in their water play.

“Why only Hendra, Gio, and Zach have good bodies? This world is indeed unfair,” complained Qiana. “I desperately keep my body shape, Helmut even does not care about his body getting fatter.”

“My husband has tried to get her to exercise together. Helmut always refused,” I said.

“There are other things more important to talk about than weight.” Darla pointed her tablet screen at us. “Nora, Dicky, and Vivaldo are found not guilty and not involved in any scandal related to Zahara and Hendra. Television crew and one of the employees of the IT section of the hotel claimed to be the mastermind of the leak of the CCVT recording.”

Qiana immediately took the tablet and read the news plastered on the screen. I sat by his side, reading it. Nora and Dicky denied that they met for handover CCTV footage of me and Vivaldo. They met just to discuss their new project cooperation. The meeting with Vivaldo also had something to do with the project.

Dicky also denied any involvement with Dira's abduction. He did not know the fugitive man. According to his confession, the man came to see him to threaten because one of the managers once offered him a job.

Vivaldo is suing behind the lab where DNA tests of him and Hadi were conducted on fraud charges. According to him, he did not know that they would lie to him by making false test results. He fully believed that they gave authentic results.

“I want to shred an arrogant smile in Vivaldo's mouth, pull his hair until he is bald, and break his arms and legs too,” Lindsey said indignantly. “If I could, I would like to twist the necks of Nora and Dicky so that they just die.”

“I also really want to strangle people at the moment. Zahara has been massively insulted in the media, insulted where she went, even to the point of being harassed in supermarkets, they just get away with it. I cannot allow this,” Qiana said.

“Of course we won't let them waltz free just like that,” said Darla agreed. “She has lost her baby because of the pressure they put on her. We won't stay silent.”

“There is one thing that happened that you may not know,” I said slowly. They set their sights on me. “On the day of my husband's company's birthday celebration, I almost gauli two men in the toilet corridor.”

“What are you?!” ask the four of them to be surprised. I immediately put my index finger in front of my lips. “Zahara!” their protest.

“I'm in shock, okay? That's why I haven't dared to tell you.” I explained the reason for my silence. “I don't want them to come off. I almost lost all my pride, I don't want them to be free of punishment. Being humiliated in front of a screen is not enough. They managed to avenge Hendra's every attack and escaped the snare of the law seamlessly.”

The five of them held my hand as I tried my hardest not to cry. My babies aren't the only things they took from me, they almost robbed me of the honor I've kept so well.

“I know how to make them feel embarrassed in public, while getting rewarded for each of their deeds.” Claudia had a serious face. “But we have to do it at the same time.”

“What do you mean?” ask Darla.

“The three of them work together doing all this. When one person is framed, he will tell the other so that his partner does not fall into the same trap. If we want to punish the three of them, then we should do it at the same time.”
