The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 23 - Changing Thoughts

As the owner of the company, it was easy for Hendra to plan a vacation in a sudden time. I just need to contact his secretary by telling us the purpose of our trip, then the plane ticket to the inn was in order.

There was not much I could do on Friday because in the afternoon I had to go to the airport. Aliando took me in my car. Although Hendra can afford to pay for parking when the car is installed at the airport, I don't want to waste that much money. Besides, I also need Aliando to help me get my luggage and Hendra to the check-in counter.

The terminal where the airline we use is very crowded with passengers who will travel as well. Maybe because today is the beginning of the weekend. On Saturdays and Sundays surely many want to vacation or visit their relatives.

There was still enough time until Hendra arrived, I decided to wait for him while filling my stomach. I didn't eat anything before I left. After deciding to eat meatballs, I headed to one of the restaurants that provided the menu.

I was waiting with other visitors. When it was my turn, I ordered a bowl of meatballs and a glass of warm water. A few minutes after paying, my order was already served on the tray. I looked around and found a table with two empty seats.

Just ate a few minutes, my phone vibrated. Without having to look at the name on the screen, I knew it was a call from my husband. I brought the phone to my ear and my guess was correct. He asked where I was. After listening to my answer, she ended the phone call after saying love.

The needle on my watch indicates that she traveled long enough from the office to arrive at the airport. The traffic he was passing through must have been very jammed. I sped up my meal because as soon as she arrived, I needed to get better in the bathroom. And as I raised my head to look towards the entrance of the restaurant, I saw him.

“Hai, babe.” Hendra approached and kissed the top of my head. Then he sat on an empty chair in front of me with a smiling face.

“You didn't eat?” I looked towards the cashier whose queue had not been all the way before. It won't take long for him to get in line.

“Let's just on the plane. I just want to eat snacks.” He smiled meaningfully. “You know that you can wait for me in the executive lounge and eat whatever they provide there, ‘kan?” I round my eyes. Oh, aye.

“I forgot.” I know that every time we travel, we always get a first class flight. But I always forget that we can wait in a specially provided lounge with a variety of free amenities that can be enjoyed.

“Are you done eating?” tanyakanya. I nodded my head. “Come, we go there.”

“I need to go to the bathroom for a while.” I put the spoon on top of the bowl, then stood up while carrying my backpack with me. Hendra stood up.

“OK. I'm waiting at the entrance gate.” She wrapped her hands around my waist and then kissed my forehead. I smiled and rushed to the toilet.

We were not waiting in line with other passengers who were in a hurry to get on the plane. It will just exhaust our feet. As usual, we sat waiting until the number of queues was no longer long. Hendra grabbed my hand as we approached the airport attendant. After showing us our ticket and identification card, we were allowed to enter the gate to the cabin.

The first thing Hendra did once we were in the air was order food. I didn't want anything but I didn't refuse when she ordered the same menu for me. The temperature in the cabin was very cold, so for a moment I was hungry again. We ate together while enjoying the view outside the window.

“Ya?” my reply is impatient. I really want to know what he thinks of my work. He always gives an honest assessment of what I do.

“I don't like the end of the story,” he said without making small talk.

“Why?” manya curious.

“I understand that the female character has long been in a relationship with the main male character. Every relationship has problems. But the man always prefers to side with his mother or sister regardless of who is telling the truth and lying or how the real events of the story are told by the woman and the mother and sister of the character man.”

I don't know what the reason he didn't mention his character's name is more than to mention their position in the story. The name I use is easy to remember. But I did not cut him off or rectify him so that he could say everything he had in mind and not be disturbed if I interrupted him.

“Yes, towards the end of the story, the male character begins to open his mind and does not swallow any information from his mother and sister. But that tendency still exists. This was evident from the length of time he needed to trust the female character as he tried to convince the man of the true events. Though the woman not only spoke nonsense but also included witnesses and evidence.”

“Much different from other male figures present as third parties. Indeed, he is only a coworker and a good friend of a female figure. The love he feels and shows may also not be as big as the male lead, but he has always been a full believer in the woman he loves. On the one hand, it's a dangerous thing. But on the other hand, it will strengthen his relationship with the female character if he chooses the man.”

“Every relationship should be based on trust. Then find out the real facts. If nothing is not believed, over time it will kill the fire of love itself. What I can't understand, the male lead has known her lover for so long, but still can't know her well. On the contrary, the second male figure only knows a female character for a few months but already knows him very well.”

“I'm disappointed the female figure prefers the man she's been with but not always on her side than the man who has managed to show that she's seriously in love with him. I can already imagine how their relationship continues even how their married life will be. The influence of his mother and sister will slowly destroy their relationship.” Hendra shook his head.

“A woman will not buy a cat in a sack. Of course, the female character will prefer to be with a man who has long known him. The problems between them have been patterned, so he knows how to resolve the conflict between them, if the same conflict happens again,” I said with a little defensive tone.

“You are seriously using that as the reason?” asked Hendra not to believe it.

“Of course. Marriage is not a toy and it is not to be done for a day or two. But for ever. The second man is perfect from any side, but, Hendra, you know that no one is perfect. He must have a deficiency.”

“Yes, he must have a deficiency. But how can you be so sure that the male lead matches the female lead, if the woman never gives a single chance to the second character to prove her love? Don't you know that a good friend can be a good partner too?”

I was silent to the question. He's correct. I did not give any chance to the second character at all and directly directed the story that the male lead is the one that is more suitable to be with the female character until the end of the story.

They are good friends, the introduction of the two men will be as good as the main male character against the female character. But from the beginning of the story to the end, the second character never fails to show his trust to the female character. Unlike the main character who always believes more in the story of his mother and sister.
