“Hey, don't look at me like that. I'm not stalking you.” He raised both his hands.
“Your friend, Al?” asked a man standing by her side.
“Iya. Ah, you guys please go home first. I will be with my friend,” he told the man. I saw several other men and women waving at Aldo as they passed us. Alright. He's not stalking me.
“You'd better go home with them. I have no plans to be with you tonight,” reject me while continuing my steps towards the exit.
“We are old friends and you act like meeting your mortal enemy.” Of course he ignored my words and walked by my side.
“Men and women don't make friends anymore after they marry another. I have a husband that I have to keep his reputation, Aldo,” I said firmly.
“OK, okay. I won't bother you anymore.”
“And what are you doing here? Are you letting your own children again at home without adult supervision?” I just don't believe it.
“After meeting them, do you now care about them?” tanyanya full of search. I just kept quiet, didn't rub it. “They've been living with my parents. Yesterday they insisted on staying with me even though I made it clear that it was impossible. After they felt it was hard to live with me, they wanted to go back to their grandparents' house.”
“It just so happens that we are discussing them. I want to thank you.” He stood by my side as I waited for Liando to come and pick me up. “What do you want to eat? I'm the one who bought.”
“You have thanked me. That's enough.”
“I've been a lot of trouble for you that day. I beg. I don't like feeling indebted to anyone. One treat from me and I will never bother you again,” he promised. I considered his offer.
“You promise?” many ensure.
“Appointments.”
“Good. Follow me. I've booked a place in a restaurant.” My car stopped right in front of me. I went in and didn't care if he could follow me or not. It's even better if he doesn't find where I'm having dinner.
“Mistress, haven't you just met Mr Zach?” ask Liando confused.
“Iya. The man just happened to meet,” I honestly. “Do not worry. If Hendra finds out, I'll bear everything.”
“Good, Mistress.” Liando drives the car. All the workers were very afraid of him, but I had never seen my husband scold a single servant who was in our house. Maybe he did it when I wasn't with them.
Arriving at the destination restaurant, an officer helped open the car door for me. I invited Liando to come eat with me, he refused. So I gave him some money so he could buy food for him.
The restaurant was already crowded with visitors. I mentioned my name to the woman standing guard, then she asked her partner to take me to the table that was prepared for me. Even though I came alone, I deliberately ordered a table for four people.
I was ordering food and drinks when Aldo walked into the restaurant. He must have asked me that woman because she was pointing at me. Aldo looked around as he walked closer to the table where I was. After sitting down, she ordered her food and the waiter left us both.
“This restaurant is very luxurious. Your taste has changed since you got married,” he said slowly.
“No. I paid,” he said insisting. I drank water in my glass, then looked around me. Thankfully, no one recognized me in this place. But I have to be quick, who knows the next visitor recognizes me. I don't want any misunderstanding between me and Hendra if they tell him.
“Some times met, I did not see your husband. Where the hell is he? Why would he let you have dinner here alone?” tanyanya wants to know. I'm just smiling. “Good. No personal questions.”
“We'll only have dinner. No more.” I reminded him back.
“Kids ask you. They say you are very kind and remind them of their mama.” She smiles. “You will definitely be a very good mother, Ara. Looks like you and your husband don't have kids yet?” I just kept quiet.
Our ordered drinks were delivered to the table, he no longer talks about personal matters. I only listen when he talks about his job and how he got to where he is today. I knew he wanted to open his own business by working as a private employee to raise capital. I don't know why he works in government.
My stomach cheered when my order came. I immediately enjoyed it and let Aldo talk to himself. Only when he was discussing food did I come to give my opinion. Almost all the menus provided by this restaurant have been tried. He kept discussing the safe topic so I started to feel comfortable.
“It is fitting that you like to eat here until you order the table first.” He let the waiter who came to pick up an empty plate in front of him. “But the price, I will not be able to eat in this place once a month.”
“You can tell your boss about this restaurant. Doesn't he always invite you to come with him whenever there's a meeting?” I said make a proposal. He rounded his eyes.
“Really too! And I can eat good food for free.” He nodded in agreement. I smile. “I'm glad to see you finally laughing again. You're too young to pout all the time like you were.” I didn't respond to it.
“And I'm happy, I made you laugh.” He looked at me with a serious face. I went back to being careful. I don't like that tone of voice. “You are a good, smart woman, you should spend your time with a man who can make you comfortable being yourself. I often ask what our relationship would be if we were still together.”
“I won't discuss the past with you.” I picked up my bag that I had placed on the sofa by my side. He touched my hand on the table, I immediately pulled it.
“Have you never thought the same thing? Would you never think of me and how our lives would be if we were married?” ask again with a persuasive tone. “Come back to me, Ara. I love you so much. Give a second chance at our love. Give one last chance. I know that you still love me.”
“Are you crazy?” I looked at him in disbelief.
“Iya. I've gone mad. I'm crazy because of you. I haven't stopped thinking about you since we met again. I don't believe in coincidences. Look how often we meet accidentally. This must be the path given to us to get back together,” he said trying to convince me.
“I'm married, Aldo. You can talk this easy because your wife is dead. I don't have that freedom, I already have a husband,” I said firmly.
“The husband you don't love.” That sentence was like a hard slap to me.
“I don't want to discuss this with you anymore. We better not meet again. Don't come near me whenever we cross next time. You promised.” I stood up, put the money on the table, and walked towards the exit.
“You left me to marry a man you don't love. Now we have another chance and you still want to throw it away too? Wh-wh-what for? Why torture yourself like this, Ara?” He followed me until I got out of the restaurant. I did not stop my steps and walked while looking for my car. “Don't say that you love your husband.”
I hate that phrase so much. I will not fall in love with someone who has ruined my happiness and the plans I have made for my own life. During my life with her, I could not even do anything of my own volition.
I don't know what Aldo saw on my face, but when he kissed me, I kissed him back. He just kept his face away when we both had trouble breathing. When he took my hand, I didn't refuse. He took me to the parking lot, approached a motorcycle. There is only one helmet. He put it on my head and put the hook together.
I sat in the back seat and held on to her body. Then I felt the wind blowing strong as we had already joined the other vehicles on the main road. He parked his motorcycle for a moment, helped me take off my helmet, and took me into a building. I raised my head and looked at the writing above the main entrance. Hotelis.
