The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 34 - Preparation of Operations

Hearing her love words was much more painful than receiving her abusive treatment last night. Hearing her sad voice made me uncomfortable compared to hearing her cold-pitched threat. I didn't like the feeling I felt in my chest when I heard the sincerity in his voice.

That's why I turned around and covered her mouth with mine. I don't want to hear her say love anymore. It's better if he keeps hurting me and hurting me. All of this will be easier for me to go through if he treats me badly. I don't want her kindness and love to make me change my mind and love this marriage.

“Honey, please don't do this,” he said in the middle of our kiss. He won't be able to reject me, he always wants me. “Please, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you last night. But don't do this.”

“Didn't you want us to have children?” I touched his face and looked into both eyes. “You have given me what I need, now it's my turn to give me what you want.” Hendra looked me in the eyes and stroked my cheek.

“Do you want me?” tanyanya expectantly.

No. gabe. I would never want her, crave her, nor would I expect this marriage to go the way she wants it to. I will never fall in love with him. I will not let my heart be his. So, I chose not to answer him and kiss him again.

In keeping with my promise to Papa and Mama, I picked them up that morning and we went to the hospital together. Hendra's right. Aliando is no longer my driver. Only on that one day. I can go wherever I want.

We went to the doctor who used to treat Mama, and he told us about the procedure we had to do before the ring could be installed. There are some checks that you have to go through.

I enrolled Mama to take all the examinations requested by the doctor. Me and Papa patiently accompanied Mama to walk from room to room for X-rays, blood tests, and other tests that I could not take her name.

Waiting for blood test results longer than other examinations that can be read directly by the doctor. We were advised to come back the next day so that Mama would not be too tired. I took them to lunch at the hospital cafeteria before driving them home. Mama looks so happy, I'm so happy about it.

After driving my parents home, I also returned home. I don't want to delay going home because I don't want to get stuck in traffic at the employee's commute. Waiting for Hendra to come home, I took my time by checking my blog and writing about my first experience accompanying Mama through the process of preparing for the installation of a ring in the heart.

When I fell asleep, I heard Hendra's voice telling me to wake up. I opened my eyes and then yawned long. He just laughed. I saw that he had changed his clothes to a creamy V-necked sweatshirt, not his work suit anymore.

“You're home? What time is it?” I glanced at my watch. The needle shows eight o'clock exactly. Considering I've missed dinner, my stomach feels hungry.

“Sorry, there was a sudden affair at the office, so I came home a bit late. You must be hungry. Come on, let's eat now,” take him. I comply.

We headed to the dining room and the food was on the table. I drink water to help me get rid of the drowsiness. Hendra helped to scoop rice, fried chicken, and vegetables onto my plate. I thank him.

“Did the examination at the hospital exhaust you?” tanyanya slow. “I came home earlier did not have the heart to wake you up, so I took a shower first so that you can sleep longer.”

“The examination is not much. We came home after lunch.” I yawned slowly. Bizarrely. Why am I so sleepy? “I also didn't realize I was asleep in my room.”

“Good. Be eating. Then we go to bed soon. Tomorrow you're going to the hospital again, ‘kan?” tanyakanya. I nodded my head.

“Mama is very happy today. The doctor is very positive that you can undergo a ring installation operation if all the results of the examination do not show any significant obstacles.” I smiled remembering Mama's happy face all morning.

The next morning, I was surprised to see a construction worker at Papa and Mama's house. I turned off the engine and got out to see what they were working on. Papa left the house with Mama, then greeted me. I took off my sunglasses.

“Is there a leaky roof, Pa?” ask me when Papa helped Mama into the back seat of the car.

“No. Hendra sent them. He said he wanted to improve the house to make it more comfortable for us to live in,” said Papa in a proud tone. I smiled hearing it. Papa got in the car, then I turned the car around and sat back behind the steering wheel.

“When we redeemed the house, his messenger informed us of your husband's intention to renovate the house. But because we were going to the hospital, yesterday they just came in the afternoon. It was just to look around what needs to be repaired in our home,” added Papa. I nod my head.

“And this morning there are a lot of things coming and the handyman will work. Hendra said, the house can be entrusted to the foreman. There will be no items missing from the house. Therefore we are quiet leaving home.” Papa sighs in relief.

“Your husband is very good. You should have conveyed your needs to him. He sounds very happy to be able to help us.” Papa looked at Mama.

“From now on, Papa and Mama can say anything to him. I will not ban it anymore. Hendra's right. He was your son too since he married me. Do not hesitate to say anything if Papa and Mama need his help,” I said slowly.

“Really?” ask Papa not to believe.

“But please think about me whenever Papa and Mama need something.”

“Son, we will not utilize his wealth or kindness to our personal advantage,” Mama said with her hand on my shoulder. “Not only you, we also have self-esteem. We will only come to him when we are powerless again.”

I touched Mama's hand on my shoulder. “Thank you, Ma. I trust Papa and Mama.”

The doctor gave me happy news. You can immediately undergo the procedure of mounting the ring. I was relieved to hear it. The quickest schedule he could give was two days later. We immediately agreed to the schedule.

You are asked to get enough rest, keep a positive mind, eat a healthy diet, and not do things that can make you tired. Papa promised the doctor that he himself would make sure that Mama would follow all his advice. We just laughed when we heard it.

On the night before the day the ring was set up, I came to their house to eat together. I asked Yuyun to cook a healthy meal for heart disease sufferers. My two in-laws came with snacks. Hendra and Zach also followed after they got home from work.

We ate together and joked as usual. Not afraid at all of Hendra's threats, Zach still dared to mock me. I returned the favor as best I could before complaining to my husband who again laughed instead of defending me. And of course my mother-in-law was present as a helper by giving her son extensive advice.

My husband asked me to come home when I saw me yawn, but I refused. He finally insisted that we should go home soon because Mama also needed a break, as I yawned for the second time. I finally complied. My two in-laws also came home.

He asked Kafin to drive my car home, while he drove his own. I sat on the driver's side. I opened the window by my side and waved to my family as Hendra drove the car away from the front of the house.
