The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 3 - The Last Warning

Not long after, a woman came in carrying a tray filled with a teapot, a cup, and a small plate. The plate containing a piece of chocolate cake was placed on the table. As soon as the cup was placed in front of me, I saw that it was tea. From the smell, I can guess it was rose tea.

I thanked her and she left me back. I took a cup and sipped the tea. Hm. I can rarely find rose tea as delicious as this. Unlike the room in my house, this house has a air conditioner. Being rich is good, you can buy and pay anything so that your life is more comfortable.

The door of the room was finely knocked and then opened. I turned my head and saw Hendra standing with a reddened face and sparkling eyes. Her hair looks damp, maybe she just finished taking a shower.

Today she is wearing a low-necked V-shaped black T-shirt. Her long sleeves rolled up to her elbows, revealing her filled arms. Unlike her usual appearance, for the first time, I saw her wearing jeans. I put the cup back on top of the saucer.

“Zahara? I'm so glad to see you see me. No need to stand. Please sit. You want to eat something? Are you hungry?” He looked at the table and at me.

“I don't need anything. We need to talk,” I said in a serious tone.

“Oh. Sure do. Of course.” Hendra sat on the sofa opposite me. He placed both of his hands on the arm of the sofa nervously. “You are so beautiful. Alright. Ng.... what do you want to talk about?”

“When did you last meet my parents?” ask me without further ado.

“Mm. When my parents and I had dinner at your house. I remember I proposed to you and,” she replied cheerfully.

I immediately cut out the sentence. “You're sure it's the last time you met my parents?” I squinted my eyes. I don't believe in that answer.

“Iya.” He frowned, looking confused.

“Then when was the last time you spoke to them?” ask again.

“On the same day. When we had dinner at your house,” he replied without hesitation.

“If you think you can lie to me, Hendra, you need to think again. When was the last time you spoke and met my parents?” ask again. This time with a louder voice.

“I'm not lying, Zahara. I met and talked to them one last time when me and my parents had dinner at your house.” The man's forehead was still wrinkled. “What's up? What without me realizing I've done wrong again?”

“Iya. Huge mistake. You shouldn't have proposed to me again. You know I already have a boyfriend. What's in your head until you dare propose to me? You even did it in front of our family. I've rejected you before, why are you doing it again? Why, Hendra?” sue me pissed.

“I fell in love with you,” he said sincerely. So sincere that I feel sick.

“Fall in love? You call that love?” cut me not believing. He had a serious expression.

“Iya. Believe it or not, I love you. It's not just the guy who can love you,” he said as he looked into both my eyes.

“So, just because you love me, you proposed to me. Didn't he? Even if I don't love you? Even though I have a boyfriend?” my attack.

“You've been dating for a long time and you're not married. You're still a free woman, Za, which means there's still a chance for me. So, why should I refrain from conveying my good intentions?” He lifted one of his shoulders. I hate hearing him call me Za. Our relationship was not that familiar so he could call me by that name.

“Do you mean? I love Aldo, Hendra. We're getting married soon. It's none of your business why we haven't been married yet. That doesn't mean you still have a chance to be with me. All you need to know is one. I have rejected your proposal. Time and time again. So, stop interrupting my life,” I said firmly.

“What do I not have that Aldo has?” his challenge.

“Oh. That's an easy question. A bunch. He was handsome, kind, hardworking, loved me wholeheartedly, loyal, always trying to make me happy, never forcing his will on me, friendly to everyone, loving his family. I can spend one daily just to talk about the advantages.”

“I also have all that.” he said not to lose.

“Oh, yes? Have you ever been in a mirror? Your nose is too big, your eyes are narrow, your lips are too thick, your skin is too pale and above all, your height is too intimidating for me. You are selfish, always use all means to get what you want even if it is by forcing, arrogant, arrogant, have no sympathy, like to look down on others. I can also spend a day talking about what you lack. Oh. One more thing. I don't love you. So, stop dreaming, Hendra,” spray me.

His face changed from serious to sad whenever I mentioned his flaws one by one. I almost backed away feeling guilty. Scant. But I did not retreat and continued forward and maintained my expression remained firm. I want him to step down.

“Good. Your message is pretty clear. I won't bother you anymore,” he said quickly. I'm speechless. I looked at him in disbelief. That easy? She's surrendering?

“Can I hold on to those words?” I still don't believe it.

“I always hold my own words,” he said firmly.

I saw his lips shake. His eyes that had originally shone upon me, now looked down and avoided my gaze. His hands clenched on both arms of the sofa. I don't like to see him so happy, but I'd rather not see him sad anymore.

I feel guilty for hurting his feelings. But I have to do it. Otherwise, the man will continue to think that he still has hope with me.

“Thank you. Excuse me,” I said standing up.

“Good.” He stood up. He opened the door and let me out of the room first. I thank you for your courtesy.

We walked to the front door in silence. With flat heels, the top of my head is only parallel to his shoulder. This guy is too tall for my taste. A man smiled at us near the front door, the man who had opened the door for me when I came. The man opened the door for us. Hendra frowned looking towards the front yard of his house.

“What are you riding here?” tanyakanya.

“Bus,” my answer is short. Does he think everyone in this world is as rich as he and his family? I don't have a private vehicle.

“Nearby stop distance is quite far from here. Let me take you to stop.” He turned around, intending to go inside the house.

“So I got on ojek. Its alright. I can stop passing ojek,” prevent me. We just said goodbye to each other, did he forget?

“But ...” He looked at my feet and then at the fence.

“No need to bother. I'm used to walking, Hendra,” reject me again. She closed her lips and did not argue with me anymore. “I go.”

Walking for a few minutes, I arrived at the front gate. A security guard opened the fence for me. After thanking me, I went out and looked around. No sign of a motorcycle taxi. I walk to the main road. Hearing the sound of a motorcycle engine, I looked up. A motorcycle repairman. I smiled seeing no passengers behind him. In less than five minutes, I arrived at the destination stop. It's time to meet my girlfriend.
