The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 232 - Behind the Word of Love

The first report is about Keva's complete identity, from birth date, parent name, to education and last job. I was like reading a curriculum vitae of a prospective employee applying for a job.

I ignored some photos and captions, then my eyes were fixed on a forensic report. The name listed on the report is the name of Keva's late husband. I don't understand every detail written on some of those sheets of paper. So, I focused on finding the final result or conclusion of the report. I still don't understand the language.

The report I put aside. I chose one of the contacts on my phone and called Doctor Andreas. He was in his practice room and let me come anytime before eight. Good. I can ask her opinion later.

The next thing I read was the financial state of his company which is engaged in hospitality. This is something I can master well. I read the numbers on the first and second sheets. Wow, well, it's just fitting that he was so desperate to get close to my husband. The company is on the verge of bankruptcy but no one has realized it yet.

He covered it up by making false financial statements and got signatures from related parties. With that evidence, he borrowed considerable money from the bank. The thing he should not be able to do is because if the bank knew the true condition, they would not lend to a company that was about to collapse.

Keva really is the second Nora. Love talks, but their real purpose in approaching my husband is just money. This is why I don't want to secure myself with my husband's money. I don't know until when we hold out on top. It could be that one day we will also experience what they are going through, and I must be ready to go back to living simply.

“What is so interesting about all those papers compared to watching your husband in therapy?” asked Hendra who was suddenly in front of me. He was in a wheelchair and the nurse was standing behind him.

“Ah, forgive me,” I said while saving all those documents back into an envelope. “Come, we are back to the room now.”

In a moment, Hendra was already sound in his bed. Exercising and taking a shower makes it easier to fall asleep. I looked towards Sakti who was still sitting in her place. Understanding the meaning of my eyes, he nodded. I'm only gone for a while, so I don't have to worry about Hendra. Sakti will take care of it.

I'm heading to Doctor Andreas's office. Her nurse asked me to wait a little while because there was a patient being examined inside. I nodded and sat in one of the empty seats. The woman by my side greeted me, but I only returned the potluck. I don't want to talk to anyone.

When the sister finally let me in, I stood up and took the envelope with me. Doctor Andreas greeted me and invited me to sit in an empty chair in front of him.

“What can I help you with, Mahendra?” ask him politely.

“Ng, I don't know how to read the results of this report.” I took out the forensic documents, and gave them to him. “I hope the Doctor can keep it a secret from anyone. This is the thing my husband asked me to examine and I can't possibly discuss this with him. He won't be able to remember.”

“Mother don't worry. Sometimes Mr. Mahendra asked me to read him a medical report. I can keep a secret.” He read the report with a serious face. Sometimes he muttered until his eyes were round, then nodded slowly.

“Good. Whoever this person's name listed, he didn't die of a heart attack. But he planned to die from this disease.” Doctor Andreas gave the document back to me.

“Doctors mean, he intentionally made himself die of heart disease or someone intentionally did it?” I just don't believe it. He nodded slowly.

“Wow. I can't believe if anyone can do this bad,” I murmured slowly.

“Prinched circumstances can make anyone reckless, Mom. As a doctor, I've seen many things that don't make sense in normal humans.” He shook his head slowly. “From the date of the report, I suspect that the investigator has not obtained the perpetrator or the motive of the victim taking the drug.”

“So, I mean Doctor, someone asked for an autopsy to be done to the victim, then after the results came out, they did not have enough evidence to conclude whether this was purely a victim's act or someone else did it?” askaku.

“Or it could be, this report does not reach the hands of anyone and the victim is concluded to have died of a heart attack. I didn't know the man, but his name was quite familiar. I can't help with finding more information because this computer is overseen by IT. We the doctors can not carelessly open the website,” he said is not tasty.

“It's okay, Doctor. I can understand what is written on this report alone is enough.” I stood intent on saying goodbye to him. “I won't take Doctor much longer.”

“Tomorrow at eight in the morning, me and the neurologist will check on Mr. Mahendra. I hope you can come at the same time because we agreed that the patient's condition is good enough to continue treatment at home.”

“Really, Doctor?” much fun. He's nodding.

“Pak Mahendra will recover faster if he is in a more comfortable place. He can't wait to get home. His memory will also be faster back when he is in a familiar environment,” he said gave good news.

Thankfully, I don't have to leave the kids at home. We can get together again the whole family. Ara would also be happy to be reunited with the master she missed. I have to ask Yuyun to prepare her welcome tomorrow.

I brought the envelope back with me as I exited Doctor Andreas's practice room. Tracing the hospital corridor, I recalled our discussion. It is also terrible when the rich man ends his own life. But why torture yourself if you can die in a faster and painless way?

If Keva purposely ended her husband's life, that makes sense. Because not long after, he approached my husband and blatantly tried to get him to be his. But how to prove it?

Ah, no, no. It's none of my business. The home is the woman's own business. The victim has a family who can help him get justice if they want. I am a nobody and being involved in their affairs will only make them suspicious of my motives.

But Dr. Andreas said, it could be that they never knew the real forensic results. I looked at the envelope in my hand. I'd better find out first what happened to that guy. If no one knows about this report, I'll ask Irwan for help.

Hendra does that a lot. He never intervened himself dealing with people who were evil to him. If he does not hand it over to Irwan, then he entrusts it to Zach or Mr. Oscar.

Suddenly, my hair was pulled from behind. I used both of my hands to hold that hand so that whoever this person didn't pull me further and further. My body was violently thrown against the wall. I screamed in pain.
