The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 18 - Our Anniversary

After driving Hendra's parents away in the parking lot, I pressed a button in my hand to unlock my car door automatically. Husband approaching. Her hands wrapped around my waist and she lowered her body to kiss my lips full of affection. I smiled as I cleaned the lipstick that was on her lips.

He looked at me for a moment, his mouth open wanting to say something but he locked his intention away. He opened the car door for me and helped me get in. Hendra waved his hand as he escorted me away. What did he want to say just now?

I got a complete treatment for hair and nails at the salon. I enjoyed the moment my scalp and shoulders were gently massaged. A fragrant and gentle fragrance emanated from my hair after the hairdresser was done with his task. My fingernails and feet look clean and glowing. I asked for my nails to be pink so as not to contrast too much with the color of my clothes tonight.

Arriving home, I only had a few minutes before my husband came home. I took a shower and changed clothes. When Hendra came home, I immediately greeted him. He kissed me and took my hand with a smile on his face towards our room. When Hendra took a shower, I prepared the clothes on his request.

Half an hour later, we were in the car. Hendra drove his own car out of our yard, we didn't go with Kafin. The journey to the restaurant was quite quiet. We can get through traffic without encountering a long traffic jam.

Entering the downtown area, we had to move slowly. Almost twenty minutes of time we spent looking for an empty parking space inside the mall. After parking the car, Hendra turned off the engine and got out first. He turned around and opened the car door for me. I received his hand.

In the elevator, we didn't have to cram because there weren't many people using it. Arriving at the destination floor, we walked through store after store until we reached the destination restaurant. Upon hearing Hendra's name, a servant led us to the table that had been ordered. I smiled at my husband.

We got a table in front of the stage. I ordered my favorite food. One large piece of meat with three different seasonings and one large glass of beer. Hendra smiled and ordered the same thing. When the waiter left us, I looked around me enthusiastically. My eyes were round as several people went up onto the stage. I looked towards my husband. He just smiled meaningfully.

Curious, I saw the five men and a woman preparing the musical equipment and sound system. Our first ordered drinks were delivered. He sipped his beer and muttered softly praising its delicacy. This restaurant-made special beer is very delicious and does not contain much alcohol. The only beer that doesn't make me nauseous when I smell it. The opening music of the song began to play. I round my eyes as soon as I recognize the music.

“Hendra, this is my favorite song,” I said slowly.

“I know.” He smiled at me.

After the first two songs were played, our food was delivered. I smiled happily at the meat that was in front of me, accompanied by refined potatoes and lettuce. We ate in silence while enjoying the songs the band played on stage.

“Ah, this song!” pekikku happy. Hendra laughed a little.

I looked at my husband carefully. Five songs played and all my favorite songs. It was neither coincidence nor accidental. Surely Hendra has ordered everything in particular. Every time we eat at this restaurant, the band plays different songs. Rarely was my favorite song.

“You ordered all those songs?” I just don't believe it. He smiled when he agreed. “But why not one of your favorite songs? It's ‘kan our wedding day, not just my birthday.”

“I ordered, then I chose the song,” answered meaningfully.

“Thank you, Hendra. It's a very pleasant surprise,” I said sincerely. He took my hand on the table.

We enjoyed each other's meals while listening to songs that added to our appetite. As the food on my plate was running out, Hendra offered to order again if I was still hungry. Refused it. One portion of food is very large, I will not be able to spend one more portion.

Feeling him touch my hand, I turned to him. He wanted to say something but seemed hesitant. He took a momentary breath. “I know that I never discussed this with you and instantly promise to give you what Mama asked for.” Hendra looked at me seriously. “Honey, do you mind if we have children?”

I swallowed heavily. I'm really not ready to talk about it right now. But he chose the right moment. We are celebrating six years of our marriage. It was not a short time and not just the people around us, I was sure that he was beginning to miss the presence of a child.

How am I supposed to answer that question without making me feel more guilty? I won't back down now, so I won't stop taking that drug. But I don't know why I feel uncomfortable if I have to lie to him.

“I don't mind,” I finally replied. Slowly her face turned cheerful, she let out a sigh of relief.

“I don't want to force you to do something you don't want. You will play a big role in our child's life. You are the one who will carry it in your womb. So, it would be very happy if you also want it,” he said happily.

“Do you want it?” askaku.

“Iya! It would be nice to see a little Za running around the house, feel her spoiled in my arms, I want to have a child with you, Za.” His eyes sparkled happily. “I'm glad you want it too.”

The servants came to take our empty plates. Then they brought a plate containing two pieces of black forest cake with the inscription Happy Anniversary on the edge of the plate using arbei sauce. The band sang a wedding song for us. I smiled happily. At the end of the song, the people in the restaurant clapped their hands while looking at us.

When the calm returned, I stood up and went up on stage. I whispered something towards the singer and smiled receiving the microphone she thrust at me. Hendra just looked at me confusedly. The opening music was played and my husband shook his head. I sang one of his favorite songs. The song she sang for me on our wedding day.

The band's singer pulled Hendra's hand and took him on stage. The song is a duet, so singing it alone is not easy. With the woman's persuasion, my husband was willing to go on stage and sing with me.

Applause filled the restaurant as we ended the duet. After thanking her, we got off the stage. Hendra helped me sit down before he sat back in his chair. We enjoyed each of our black forest pieces.

“How about this weekend we go on vacation?” ask Hendra.

“Agree!” happy say. Vacationing to a new place is a lot of fun for me. Besides being able to enjoy the scenery and facilities offered, I can make articles about the tourist attractions.

“There's an idea where we should go?” tanyakanya. I thought for a moment, there are still a lot of good places we haven't been to, where should we go this time, huh? My husband laughed a little. “No need to rush. You can tell me by Friday morning at most. Booking tickets and hotels will not be difficult even in the last seconds.”

“Good,” I'm happy. He really understands me.
