The Untouched Heart

The Untouched Heart
Chapter 72 - I Look Old

“Honey,” Hendra entered the clothes room, “are you not ready? We can be late to worship.” I looked at him with a sad face. “Hey, what's up? Why are you crying?”

“I look like a sixty-year-old woman,” isakku. Hendra hugged me and his hands rubbed my back. It's been two weeks since he took off the cast on his right hand, so I can feel the warmth of his touch.

“You're just pregnant, Za. Some parts of your body enlarge, does not mean you turn into an old woman.” He kissed my temple. “Stop crying or you will sit even longer because you have to fix your makeup.”

It was easy to say all that, but I felt it. My stomach is getting bigger, so are my chest and buttocks. My face was covered with pimples and my hair looked stiff and not glowing. How can I attend a wedding with this appearance?

My gestational age is almost entering the twenty-eighth week and I am already so big. I can't imagine how big I'll be when I'm nearing childbirth. All the clothes in the clothing room have been replaced. My old clothes were stored somewhere else because I absolutely could not use them anymore.

Lindsey's son's wedding day has finally arrived. They do not dare to choose the concept of garden parties because during this October it rains almost every day. The wedding ceremony was held at the church where Lindsey and her family were registered. Only relatives and friends attended. After the event, we had dinner together in the hall of a luxury hotel.

“Thank you. You're all so nice. We are very helped prepare this beautiful wedding,”, said Claudia. Mother of the bride. He tried to learn Indonesian even though we said we could speak English fluently. He could already say his greetings and thank you very well.

“Thank you again, Claudia,” answer us simultaneously.

“Our offer to vacation together is still valid. The more the better. I'm sure Lindsey and Ed don't mind either,” he said who still hasn't given up on taking us on vacation with them after the wedding.

“It's best not. Zahara is pregnant and we don't want to go together in her absence either. Maybe next time. We plan to go abroad together someday,” said Darla. The woman did not look disappointed, her face even more sparkling.

“Please, come to our place. I will invite you to visit a nice place in our city!” said happy.

“Honey, did you make them hard again with your invitation?” mason, her husband. “Please forgive my wife. He was so happy to make new friends. Therefore he would love for you to come on vacation with us.”

“We understand, Mason. And he doesn't bother us,” I said defending Claudia.

“Oh, Zahara. I pray that my first grandchild will be a girl. Your son should be my daughter-in-law. You hear that? They will definitely be a very compatible couple. Handsome man and beautiful woman!” Claudia.

“You can't just ask my wife and ignore my opinion, Claudia.” Hendra suddenly stood by me.

“Hendra, you will regret if you do not approve of their relationship. Since I dare to guarantee, the two of them will be a couple that many people envy. Beyond what you've done in front of us.” Claudia challenged. Oh, dearGod. This woman's sincerity still often surprises me.

“You know, you can kiss and hug Mason whenever you want. No one would dare judge you here. I just never care what people say every time I touch my wife.” Hendra proved it by kissing my lips there, in front of my best friend.

“Oh, go. You just ruin the conversation of the women,” said Claudia half-shooing Hendra. We laughed when we heard it.

“I came to invite you to attend an event at my house, but since you kicked me out rudely, then I ..” said my husband half-jokingly.

“Thanksgiving ceremony for the content of seven-month-old Zahara,” replied Qiana.

“Oh. There is such an event here?” ask Claudia enthusiastically. We nodded our heads. He looked towards Lindsey who was sitting with her family. “We don't know where Lindsey will take us on vacation, so I can't decide anything now.”

“He will also attend the event. He won't miss it,” Darla said.

“Then, I will also attend,” said Claudia enthusiastically.

“I? Aren't you going to take me too?” ask Mason. I love seeing this couple. They are very relaxed like friends, but also do not hesitate to show that they are crazy about each other.

Hendra asked me to dance. I refuse to be the center of attention of many people. But he persuaded me until I answered yes. We just hugged and moved to the music. He was not bothered at all with my big belly that was between us. Friends also dance with their partners.

One more thing I hate most about being pregnant is the frequency of going to the restroom. I think I just got out of that place, uh, I have to go back. Hendra just laughed when he took me off to the bathroom. He offered to accompany me, but I refused. After all, he still won't be able to get into the women's toilet.

I'm grateful there's no queue and there's two empty rooms. I chose the closest. When I was done with my personal affairs, I cleaned my hands while looking at my reflection in the mirror. My cheeks are chubby, my neck is fat, I really look like an old woman. I took a deep breath and took it out slowly. Okay, it's just hormones. I am beautiful and young.

I kept repeating the sentence inside my head so that I would not suddenly cry when I rejoined my husband and friends. My hormones can't ruin the mood of this wedding. As soon as I got better, I came out of the toilet.

“Until when do you plan to hide your pregnancy from me?” A man standing in front of me blocked my steps. I raised my head and saw Aldo standing in front of me with an unhappy face.

“I don't hide my pregnancy from anyone.” I looked at him in wonder. What else does he want from me? Is our last conversation still unclear to him? And how did he get to be in this place?

“You didn't tell me, it means you hid it from me,” he said again. I tried to analyze the meaning of that strange sentence.

“Shortly. Do you think this baby is your son?” I looked at him in disbelief.

“Of course. Whose son would it be if not my son?” ask her with sarcastic tone.

“Wow. You've really gone crazy. You should check with a psychiatrist while you can still be helped.” I'd go crazy if I kept talking to him. He held my arm as I tried to walk past him. “Let go of me!” I brushed his hand off.

“You must leave that man, Ara. I won't stay silent anymore. I won't let him have you and our son,” he said threateningly.

“This is my husband's son,” I said in a stifled voice. He laughed cynically.

“Six years with her you are not pregnant either, who are you lying to? That's obviously my son. You were pregnant after we slept together,” he said slowly. I looked around with worry. And I saw Hendra standing behind me. Oh. No. gabe.
