The night was getting late, but Salwa was not yet conscious which made Fauzi become so worried and very anxious now. He waited for his wife to wake up, even though the night was getting late.
The doctor who examined Salwa said that there was nothing serious about Salwa. Salwa had only been traumatized for a moment after learning something very different from what was on her mind.
Previously Fauzi intended to contact his parents and also in-laws, but seeing Salwa's condition with his thoughts that are somewhat strange, making Fauzi refrain from telling this to their parents. Fauzi wanted to ascertain the true state of Salwa first before informing him of the Salwa accident.
Farhan and Nina had to retreat when the day went on this afternoon. They could not stay longer to accompany Fauzi to look after Salwa, remembering that Nina was pregnant and their son, whom they now have at Farhan's parents' house, had to be picked up.
“Sayang.. Come awake.. You want until when to sleep continue dear.” Fauzi said as he clasped his wife's hand tightly.
He was so unsettled to see his wife unconscious. His tears trickled back, all the bad possibilities approaching him, making his fear even more so.
“I'm not a dick, I'm a bad husband. How can I let you go like this, baby? What kind of husband am I?” Fauzi cursed himself. He felt so guilty about what happened to his wife at this time.
Fauzi bowed, and continued to kiss his wife's hand with tears flowing more and more.
“Fa-Fauzi..”
Fauzi was surprised, did the voice he heard really belong to his wife?
“Sayang.. Are you awake??”
Salwa who was conscious tried to get up and sit by leaning back.
“Pelan-pelan darling.” Fauzi said he helped his wife.
Salwa sat down with the help of Fauzi.
“How are you feeling now?”
“Slightly giddy.” Salwa answered with a weak voice.
“After I call the doctor.”
“No need..” Prevent Salwa.
Fauzi turned back around after he had already rushed to call the doctor.
“You want to eat, baby? Want to drink??”
Salwa.
“You're cold, would you like me to take a blanket?”
Salwa nodded back.
“Fauzi.”
“Iya darling?”
“Fauzi, what exactly happened?”
“About what dear??”
“About everything. Same story me, what really happened”
Slowly Fauzi began to tell me about what had happened all along. Fauzi said that they had been married for 7 years, even though they had broken up. Fauzi recounts how they met again in the hospital for the first time after a long separation, until Salwa mistakenly thought about Afifah at that time. Fauzi passionately told how those who began to approach back after the breakup, how he had difficulty approaching Salwa back because Salwa always mistaken.
Sometimes Salwa smiles listening to Fauzi's story, Fauzi even laughs when he tells funny things.
“So I am now?”
“Now you are my dear wife, we are finally moving into our own home. You finally decided to quit your job and you opened.”
“I have my own Pharmacy right at home?”
“Iya darling. We also have children now.”
“Mikayla.”
“Iya, Mikayla our daughter.”
Salwa was silent for a moment, and began to be confused.
“Mikayla is in school now, you send Mikayla to school every day and I pick up” said Salwa slowly.
He himself was confused, where his memory was and why it now appeared on the surface.
“Ka-you remember that, baby?? You-you really remember??”
Salwa turned to look at Fauzi, and still showed how confused she was at being able to remember what she could not remember before.
“You work in Farhan's company, right?”
“Iya dear yes.. Do you really remember everything?” Tanya Fauzi enthusiastically saw Salwa who slowly remembered one by one in his life.
Salwa nodded and looked at Fauzi with her teary eyes. Although he was confused from where his memories were, but there was a sense of excitement that he felt when he could remember everything.
“A-I was confused and like I was dreaming.” Salwa said in confusion.
“You're really reminding me, baby?? You remember everything??”
Salwa nodded and smiled with her eyes beginning to glaze over.
Fauzi hugged Salwa, the feeling of happiness he had now seemed to melt the surface.
However, not long ago Fauzi was happy, he was back in the face of worry.
“Why?” Salwa asked puzzledly looking at Fauzi whose expression suddenly changed.
“Sayang.. You remember this, and will forever remember right??”
“About what?”
“About our lives, ourselves, me, our children and everything”
“You mean?” Salwa asked in confusion.
Fauzi was again worried and afraid to be disappointed because he had hoped for more now.
“You won't forget again, will you, baby?”
“Forget what? Maybe it was because I ran out of an accident so my memory was a little disturbed and remembered the events in the past. But now I remember that I'm your wife and we have a child. I've realized that this is the time now, I'm not delirious anymore about the events that happened in the past”
“Bu-not that I mean dear. I mean about something in your head, that could wipe everything”
Salwa's forehead is wrinkled. He still could not understand about what Fauzi said.
“What eraser? I'm sick?” Ask Salwa.
Fauzi looked at Salwa for a moment, confused about whether he could tell Salwa. Fauzi then nodded confirming Salwa's question.
“I'm sick what?”
“Al-Alzheimer” Fauzi replied hesitantly.
Salwa was so shocked to hear what Fauzi had to say. How could her husband say something so horrible.
“Al-Alzheimer?? I have Alzheimer??” Salwa asked clarifying what she had just heard from her husband.
Fauzi nodded back. He had regretted because he had told the truth about the disease suffered by his wife. Fauzi only realized the consequences of what he would get when he told the truth to his beloved wife. The last time when Salwa realized his condition suffering from Alzheimer's, he cried bitterly blaming himself, even asked Fauzi to look for other women because he felt ill as a wife. Salwa even ran away from home when she realized she had Alzheimer's and knew she had no way to recover.
“I have Alzheimer's? A disease that can forget everything?” Ask Salwa to clarify once again.
“Iya darling.” Replied Fauzi who could not hide his sad expression.
Salwa was really surprised to hear what Fauzi said.
“Ta-but, I remember everything. I remember you, me, our daughter, my job and whatever it is, I remember everything” explained Salwa. She still hoped that it was possible that her husband had mispronounced the illness or misjudged it.
Fauzi looked at Salwa with an indecipherable look. Fauzi himself is confused as to whether what happened tonight is real, or whether his wife can continue to remember everything that happened tonight. Fauzi sincerely hopes that this is true.
“Ka-if I have Alzheimer's, it means I can't recover and that means I can't remember everything. But I remember” now
“Yes dear, I also hope that you can remember this all forever, not just tonight it's just”
Salwa was silent for a moment, with her mind beginning to think hard to digest what she had just heard from her husband.
“Ja-so all this time? I'm being forgetful?”
Fauzi. Fauzi himself was still confused as to whether something like this could be said to his wife. But seeing the now fine-looking saltwa, Fauzi made even more hopeful that his wife was now cured.
“What have I forgotten? And since when have I been like that?”
“Sayang.. Do you really remember everything now?”
Fauzi did not answer Salwa's question, and again asked to confirm his wife's memory.
“Iya.. I remember that we were married and had children. Fauzi, that was maybe I was just a dream so it couldn't be different. It's not because I forgot that until you thought I had Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's sufferers are not like me, they do not forget certain parts or their minds go back to the past like what happened the same I was” explained Salwa at length.
Salwa tries to convince Fauzi that what happened to him just now is not something that can be considered as a person suffering from Alzheimer's.
Yes, Salwa was aware that she had strange thoughts before. I don't know what happened to his memory so he thought that what had just happened to him, was what happened a few years ago.
But, Salwa did not realize that she was previously an Alzheimer's patient. He did not feel at all that he had experienced extraordinary symptoms of forgetfulness so that it could be said to be Alzheimer's. Although what happened was that he was indeed an Alzheimer's patient.
Fauzi was silent for a moment. The way Salwa explains how Alzheimer's patients are, is exactly how he usually gives information about a disease to his patients, it made Fauzi even more hopeful that what was happening to his current wife was a sign of recovery.
“Fauzi, Alzheimer's sufferers not only forget themselves, children, family and others. But they also slowly lose their verbal abilities, thinking skills, and even speaking skills because they have trouble composing sentences from what they want to say. They can't even live without other people or interact well with others. So do you see me like that now?” Ask Salwa to make sure.
Salwa explained at length about what happened to the patient. She still can't accept her husband thinking that she is Alzheimer's, considering that she is so conscious and so good at saying what she wants to say.
“I remember we were dating from High School, and I.” Salwa stops for a moment when her memory of the affair she once had. “And me.. I once cheated” Salwa said slightly lowering her tone.
“You remember that problem?” Fauzi was surprised.
Is it true that this is a sign of his wife's recovery.
“Yes, I remember. We broke up and didn't meet for a long time. But in the end we meet again.”
Fauzi. He who had previously felt happy, was worried again. The thing Salwa was telling me now was the thing they had just discussed. Fauzi told Salwa.
“Ta-but that's what I discussed earlier dear.”
“Then, about me who once broke up because of your mergokin with another girl. I remember when I was performing art and you didn't come. As I walk the same way, I mergokin you again with another girl. That time will be angry and ask to break up right??” Salwa tries to convince Fauzi that Fauzi's memory of him is wrong. Salwa was so aware of herself that she remembered everything that it could not be said that she was a Alzheimer's.
Salwa argued a little about Fauzi. What he was going through now was very different to that of Susaann Fauzi. Salwa recounted some things as proof that her memory was fine.
Hearing Salwa say that, made Fauzi confused. He did not know whether Salwa who spoke clearly as she is today could believe that it was a sign of his wife's recovery, or just a memory that came to the surface, as before.
Late at night, Salwa, who regained consciousness and showed herself as a healthy person, continued to explain to Fauzi about her condition.
It seemed, they would have a long time this time, to uncover all the things that the two thought were different. No drowsiness approached the two, due to the confusion that both roared them at this time.
