Chapter 258 - The Beginning of the Great War On Earth (3)

Gina and Gus arrive in a room that looks like a laboratory.

The room looked very messy like it was left in a great hurry.

Realizing that, Gina and Gus immediately rushed to check around the room, who knew they could still catch up with people who might just give them information.

The room had several branches and it made Gina and Gus waste quite a long time examining the entire room.

"You found something?" gina asked Gus as they had already returned to the main room after finishing inspecting all the other rooms.

Gus shook his head.

"Is the only way out of that gate possible?"

"Well, I think it's like a Dungeon. There's only one gate in and out."

"Then, they might run away knowing we came to this place." Gus.

"I think so."

The two eventually decided to examine the objects that were all over the room in that place but there was not a single clue they found.

There are only old papers and notes that are similar to mathematical, physical, chemical and biological formulas, which they do not understand at all.

Gina then remembered that Miyuki could definitely understand the meaning of those writings. So, she asks Gus to help her take photos of all the sheets they come across.

"Are you done?" asked Gus, who had just finished taking pictures on the last paper in his hand.

"Yes. Let's get out."

The two eventually went towards the gate, but Gina suddenly stopped as she sensed an extremely faint magic energy from a place.

"Gus... Wait." Wait."

"You found something?"

Gina did not answer that question. He went towards one of the walls of the room and examined a small crack that emitted a magic aura.

Feeling that something was behind the wall, Gina finally kicked the wall until the secret door in front of her collapsed.

As the wall shattered, they could see a very dark passageway behind it.

"Let's check it out" Gina asked as she turned on the flashlight on her smartphone.

They continued walking through the dark passage until they finally arrived at the front of a door, which opened as Gina pushed it slowly.

How surprised Gina and Gus were when they arrived inside the room from behind the door, when they found that there were many humans sleeping inside the large tubes containing turquoise water.

What made Gina even more surprised was when she saw one of the people who was very similar to Hunter who had fought with her.

"Why is he here? Wasn't he fighting me out there?"

The tubes did not only number in the tens or hundreds. Gina and Gus guessed, the tubes containing the humans even numbered in the thousands.

Gina and Gus walked on until they almost arrived at the end of the hallway, as Gus gave a startled cry as he recognized the face of one of the humans inside the tube.

"G-gina..," so surprised, Gus got goosebumps and called out to Gina stammering.

Gina immediately turned her head and looked in the direction that Gus pointed out and she immediately reacted even more surprised than what Gus showed.

"Dad?!"

"How's this? What do we do?" Gina looked panicked when she didn't know what to do.

"Is it okay if I destroy it?" ask Gina to Gus.

"Don't be rash. We don't know if this tube might keep your dad breathing or not. We better get upstairs and check it out first." Gus gave advice.

Gina agreed to that, and they looked for a way to get up on that tall tube.

But, their steps came to a halt when they heard a sound like the sound of objects slamming and they saw the door where they entered was already tightly closed.

Not finished with the surprise, they also heard the sounds of cracked glass.

Gina and Gus spontaneously turned towards the sound and saw some tubes near them begin to break.

Greenish water began to flow out of the tube cracks, until finally the tube broke completely.

Praaaannggg...!

It's not just some of those tubes that are broken. They also saw other tubes starting to break apart and the water that had previously been inside the tubes had now flowed out and started flooding the floor of the room.

Gina and Gus jump out of the water, worried that it might contain harmful substances that might harm them.

However, when more tubes began to break, they could no longer avoid the water that now began to drown the two Hunter's calves.

From inside one of the broken tubes earlier, the figure of the man who was not wearing a piece of cloth began to open his eyes. He then plucks out all the hoses connected to his body, before finally attacking Gina and Gus brutally.

"Gina, careful!" exclaimed Gus while trying to grab Gina's hand that was still glued to the face of her attacker.

"He's..."

"just ignore! He seems to be hypnotized!" exclaim Gus, remind Gina.

Hearing that, Gina finally jumped up and lunged at Steven Stewart, then hit the man right at the nape of his neck. He remembered, Miyuki told him that hitting at that point could awaken someone from hypnotic magic.

But, his punch only threw Steven. The blow did not resuscitate him at all.

Steven stood up again, then attacked Gus who was nearby.

Andnggg!!!

Gus instantly activates his barrier and it makes Steven's fireball attack fade beyond the blackish smoke that Gus forms.

While they were still busy fighting, some of the tubes began to crack and break until the place was now flooded by the liquid coming from inside the tube.

"Gus, let's break that door and get out first!" Gina, now separated from Gus, was among the tube-men who had just come out of the transparent tube.

But, the tubes that were at the end of their exit passage suddenly broke all over. In fact, the tubes near Gina and Gus also began to rupture.

The water began to flood the room. There was no more room for them to move because they were now beginning to sink, and were also dredged by hundreds of human tubes.

"Gus! Come here!" exclaimed Gina, while trying to fend off the attacks from the tube man who came towards her.

Gina tried as hard as possible to overcome and break through the attack to reach Gus. He knew Gus could not swim.

Having skills as a Hunter and swimming is unrelated. He was worried that Gus would drown if he did not help him immediately.

Gus, who had just been silent in his place while activating protective magic, began to go near Gina when he heard Gina kept asking him to come closer. But, the tubes began to split again until more and more tube people came out and surrounded him until he now had difficulty moving

The water is now getting higher to more than half of the height of the room.

Gina looked towards the door where they had entered earlier and saw that the door looked solid, not being destroyed by the flood that filled the room.

Gina continues to swim closer to Gus while fighting his strange besiegers as he knows them.

As he faced off against a woman, he finally remembered that the woman was one of the Hunter from the Association who was in the days of his father's leadership.

"Hasn't he been killed when the dungeon broke a few years ago? Why are the people who should have been killed in this place?"
