The Goddess Of War

The Goddess Of War
Chapter 186 - The Fire Clan Elves

When Peral had just come out of Sylph's tent, one of the Elves who had just arrived in front of Peral's tent immediately turned their head and ran a small towards Peral.

"What's wrong?" asked Peral who was feeling confused when he saw one of the clan leader's trust bodyguards was in his territory.

“Master Peral, leader asks you to meet him.”

"What?" Peral was a little surprised.

It was only two days ago that he met the clan leader and was asked to continue patrolling along the river, guarding the clan's defense.

Usually, the leader will not call the commander who has been given the task within a period of several months afterwards.

“What does the chairman ask me to face now?” ask Peral.

“Ya, sir.”

Peral kept quiet for a while, thinking about what possible important things the clan leader had until having to call him in the morning blind like this.

"Is there a problem?" ask Peral to the messenger.

"I don't know, sir. The leader just asks to call you."

Peral finally nodded. “Alright, I'll go with you.”

The two then went towards the largest tent which was a little far from the tent Peral and Sylph were in.

When they got there, Peral did not see any troops around the tent, and he could now feel a little relieved.

Previously, Peral was worried if there was news of attacks from other clans to make the clan leader call him early in the morning.

Peral's worries are not without cause. The loss of shelter belonged to the Fire Clan, making them extremely vulnerable to the attacks of other clans.

They now had no forest to hide themselves from the ambush of the opponent. Until, if there were another clan coming to attack, they would certainly be very difficult to defend.

Peral then entered the tent of the clan leader. He was a little surprised and embarrassed when he saw that the veteran commander of Legalos was already there before him.

"I'm sorry if I'm late." Peral said, with a slightly flushed face in embarrassment.

The clan leader and senior commander immediately laughed when he saw that Peral seemed to feel such guilt.

“Sit down, Peral,” Zobyr, the clan leader, immediately let Peral join them in a simple seat that did not show the usual luxury, from the room of a clan leader.

“How about the woman?” legalos asked, after Peral had sat nearby, predating the actual clan head also wanted to ask the same thing.

“She hasn't woken up, Mr. Legalos.” Sahut Peral's.

“Any, how can any creature fall asleep for so long if he is okay?”

Peral quietly took a deep breath, confused to answer or comment on Legalos questions, which he himself did not know the cause.

Although Zobyr was also somewhat curious, he knew that they all did not know what caused it. So, he did not want to ask any further questions about the prisoner.

Zobyr finally started talking and said his intention was to call Peral to meet him.

"Preals. The leader of the Land clan and the Ice Clan has already contacted me and we have already set a meeting date between the clans.” Zobyr.

Hearing that, Peral's countenance turned more serious.

"You're right." Zobyr kept quiet for a while, then continued, “I actually don't want to send any of you there, but we don't have any other capable members as representatives.”

Peral nodded slowly.

He knew, meeting between clan envoys was very dangerous. There could have been one of the clans setting up a trap to get rid of their competitors.

Usually, warlords are not chosen as emissaries. Each clan did not want their warlord to be outside the territory of their own clan.

The cause is none other than the existence of war zones that can at any time isolate their territory. So, warlords must continue to be in their territory, just in case and they are usually only allowed to go as far as the border area.

Normally, Kalan Api would send Fael, Eleanor and Glynka as emissaries. Unfortunately, they were presumed to have died in a mission to spy on the Wind Clan that had been wiped out while the clan's territory was within the war zone.

Knowing the demise of the Wind Clan, each clan ended up being more intense to train forces and keep their warlords from being sent into battle in other territories.

However, the meeting that the three clans were going to do this time was extremely important, so the Fire Clan was forced to send one of the trusted commanders of the clan leader to go there instead of choosing one of the elders to replace the duties of Fael, Eleanor and Glynka.

“When is the meeting, chairman?” ask Peral.

“Only two more months before the forecast period occurs. So, we the chairmen have had an agreement to send the envoy to neutral territory in one week,” Sahut Zobyr.

Peral nodded. He knew the only option was himself. The clan could not possibly allow Legalos to go to the meeting.

“I will go," said Peral, before the clan leader ordered.

“No. I summoned you here precisely to ask for a feud so that you can lead the soldiers to guard our territory, replacing Legalos.”

"What?"

“I'll be going. The leader called you to ask about your ability to guard our territory should our territory suddenly enter the war zone.” Legalos, explaining.

As a veteran warlord, Legalos has both fighting experience and fighting power over Peral.

All this time, the territory of the Fire Clan had already been 2 times within the war zone. Legalos had always managed to eradicate the hunting nation and destroy the magic pillars to keep their territory safe.

Hearing that, Peral was of course very surprised. He had absolutely no problem if he had to go to a meeting and was trapped by the other clans there.

He would rather die alone in an opponent's trap, than sacrifice the entire clan if he became the leader of the war in place of Legalos.

Peral placed more importance on keeping his clan safe under the command of Legalos who had unquestionable combat experience.

“But..., I still have no experience fighting inside a war zone,” said Peral, in a disapproving tone.

Peral has just replaced her retired father. He had fought in a war zone, but only as the leader of an archer's squad.

In addition to his lack of experience, Peral is also worried because the hunter nation seems to be getting stronger. It was proven from the destruction of the Wind Clan that did not leave 1 member as a successor.

"I believe you can lead the soldiers much better than me, Peral." Said Legalos, giving confidence to the young man who was identical with his daughter.

Having no other choice, Peral eventually accepted the heavy responsibility, although he had many doubts.

Three days later, after the preparations were well done, Legalos and his two trusted bodyguards finally set off towards the central plains. Neutral place that is usually used as a meeting place between clans.
