Forever Love

Forever Love
Second Court

This morning the atmosphere of the city of Y is quite cool because from dawn it has been rained and now there are only raindrops left from the trees that drip little by little. But it cannot withstand the activities of the workers and lessons that have crowded the streets.

A middle-aged man was sitting in his car by the driver heading to the police station. He came down wearing a mask and sunglasses while occasionally paying attention to his surroundings. Just as he was about to enter, a man in a suit his age called out to him.

“Mr Alvindo, good morning. You came early,” said.

“I just want to make sure that everything will be fine and we will win the case. You are my mainstay lawyer, please make sure I am not disappointed in you,” said Mr. Alvindo full of emphasis.

“Of course all I will try to turn to attack them,” he replied.

The two entered at the same time and asked for permission to meet with Mr. Handoko. The man came in a black and white uniform because he was called back to court because a new additional case would be revealed.

“Alvin, this is your flagship lawyer, right?” ask Mr. Handoko after he sat down.

“Yes. And hopefully we can win. I've made this plan well and I hope your people can help us well too. Mr. Gavin this is your rival, isn't it?” said Mr. Alvindo glanced at Mr. Handoko and Mr. Gavin alternately.

Mr. Gavin smiled faintly while Mr. Handoko simply nodded.

“Pak Gavin can leave us both, there is an important thing I want to discuss with him?” ask Mr. Alvindo politely.

“Ya sure.”

Mr. Alvindo looked at his lawyer who went out and talked to some of the police who served there.

“Five days ago I got a subpoena from the court as well as the police station to check on me. The evidence they have also dragged my name. After being examined at this police station, I was still declared free but under surveillance until the court ruled. If we win then I won't go to jail and take care of all our business but you because of your case in Qania then you should be ready to go to jail for the next few years,” said Mr. Alvindo seriously.

Mr. Handoko heaved a heavy sigh. “Yes I know. But are you sure we can win this case?” his question was doubtful given that there was some evidence in Qania's hands and some of their old cases known to Qania so it was not impossible if Qania also held the evidence.

“Almost one hundred percent. I've got the key. The old man and his grandson are in my grasp. His son who was languishing in prison was pressed to keep his mouth shut. They will be brought to witness later in court. I've been pressuring them to be on our side. I do not know for sure what evidence they have, but I believe we can turn things around,” replied Mr. Alvindo then he clenched both hands.

“You are quite cunning and very great. You hold their keys and I salute you. Please win this case so that my sentence does not increase,” said Mr. Handoko then smiled a grin.

Mr. Alvindo smiled faintly then they were both speechless with their own thoughts.

Unlike in the residence of Mr. Erlangga, they enjoy breakfast in silence and look like they are in an atmosphere that is not okay. Several times the spoonful of food stopped in front of Qania's mouth and then he exhaled and put the food into his mouth.

This morning the family of Mr. Erlangga complete with his brother, the mother of Maharani and Mr. Agus Setiawan who had breakfast there and will leave together to the court later.

After breakfast they gathered in the living room and slightly discussed the matter of the trial later.

“Whatever the result we have been very grateful to Mr. Setya Wijaya and Qania who have been willing to help so far,” said Bu Maharani.

“What can it mean as pessimistic language, Rani?” papa Setya asked a little.

“Yes how should I, Mas? I feel like I've fallen into a state of affairs. Let Angga be calm in nature there and let the punishment of God will repay them,” replied Bu Maharani.

“Sekian time passed apparently your sister has changed greatly from being stubborn to so sensitive and easily succumbed yes,” ledek Papa Setya.

“Hahaha, it was all because her husband was so soft on her and could turn the stone head into a jelly head,” timpal Mr. Erlangga which made Bu Maharani snort while Mr. Agus also laughed.

“You! From the first always compact bully me,” grumbled Bu Maharani.

Laughter was heard in the room. Mr. Erlangga's wife only smiled and laughed occasionally. The shy woman rarely raised her voice unless she really had to argue.

“Already, we better be ready now because we have to go to court. And remember whatever the result is today, we've all tried. If God has not willed to punish them in this world, then believe that God has prepared a punishment for them in the hereafter. Optimistic only if all this is a path that has been arranged by the Almighty,” said Papa Setya reminded by his wise speech.

“Hahh, Mas Setya is right. But it's not fair that they win. I will be an inner torment if I know they won and the criminals can breathe fresh air while we are crowded because of their actions,” said Bu Maharani with teary eyes.

Pak Agus who saw the look of his wife's sad face immediately grabbed him.

“Mama don't be sad gini. Papa knows it would be unfair if evil won against good. But if God has written the fate line, what can we do? Mama must be patient and more spacious chest,” said Mr. Agus while rubbing his wife's shoulder.

Maharani ma'am just nodded. Then he approached the husband trying to find calm and strength from the body of his protector.

It turns out that true, this Maharani is just his case that looks proud and untouchable woman but when he was with the closest people he just looks so sweet, spoiled and fragile. He could not pretend to be happy in front of his family. He wants to share his grief with his family. While me? I am a good actor because I am always able to perform in front of my family by showing false happiness so that I do not look sad. I forgot one thing if family is a place to share. They will understand my feelings the most. I'm claustrophobic if I have to keep this alone.

Qania could only smile bitterly thinking of her who was so good at pretending to be happy in front of her family. He remembered his family who always asked his feelings but he always denied and said that everything was fine.

All right, well, once this case is over I'll share all my sadness with all my family. I'm tired of keeping it to myself. I want to go home and hug Mama while pouring out all my heart. I wanted to tell Mama that your son is not okay. Your son is so lonely and so full of deep yearning and so many more things I want to share with Mama and Papa. Ma, Pa, Qania initially felt able to pretend but eventually Qania realized that all of that actually made Qania tormented. Qania was still Pa's child.

“Already Ranj, strengthen your heart and let's get ready to go to court. It will take time to get to that place. Whatever it is believe that the results will never betray the effort,” said Mr. Erlangga.

“Mas, what if they also hold that principle. Results would not betray her efforts. They are also trying to make us drop,” peekik Bu Maharani.

“Rani ...” Mr. Erlangga could only sigh his brother's name, he could not deny his words. He could never be angry at his only sister.

“Yeah, don't be mad at him. He loves Angga so much. You grew up three and he was the closest to Angga because almost the lifetime of Angga, he was the one who took care of her after Mother died at the age of Angga who was still ten years old. Father himself is the story of this to Mother. So Dad don't mistake Rani,” said softly Mr. Erlangga's wife.

Mr. Erlangga looked at his wife then sighed. “Iya Bun, sorry Dad.”

. . .

Papa Setya's car and Mr Alvindo's car entered the parking area simultaneously. Those who got down from the car looked at each other with Mr. Alvindo but only at a glance then they chose to enter while Mr. Alvindo waited for the group from the field to take Mr. Handoko.

Entering the trial room made Qania's heart flutter. He rubbed his palms to relieve the nervousness. He still remembered the words of Bu Maharani earlier. Said ‘how’ it filled his mind cavity.

All the participants of the trial were present there and Papa Setya was ready at his place with Mr. Erlangga. Initially who will sit as a complainant on the case of Pak Angga is Bu Maharani. But seeing his fragility earlier made Mr. Agus ask that his brother-in-law alone replace him.

The awaited trial began with the judge reading out several demands from the victim's family along with the evidence. All that makes those in the courtroom can not feel calm especially Pak Handoko and Mr. Alvindo.

All these crimes are known to them. I suspect, if the Angga case is open then other cases will also be revealed. All because of Handoko. Just try to hear that he wants me to destroy all that evidence then there won't be today. Mr. Alvindo was upset but continued to show a calm face.

The first to speak was Mr. Alvindo. He said that all of them were engineered documents because he did not feel he had any business with Pak Angga let alone get into a conflict to kill someone. His lawyer chimed in and they spoke casually like there was no burden.

“Her honorable judge, I really have no special relationship or special issue with that journalist. Why I am associated with his death and his assistants. I am not a person who likes to play smart. If indeed my name is listed in the document, you and the prosecution should first examine the data that is on you. Do not make such accusations. If Pak Handoko's case is indeed true of Qania's sister, it is a fact. But for this case, you can ask Mr. Handoko or sister Qania himself. What is it and why can this case of many years just unfold,” said Mr. Alvindo casually but looks very authoritative.

Wh-what does Alvin mean? Don't tell me he wants to throw a rock hide his hand.

The victim was certainly flabbergasted by the words of Mr. Alvindo. Qania and Papa Setya. They glanced at each other and only they understood the intent of their gazes.

“Good thank you. Please the whistleblower to give his response,” said the judge.

“Thank you your majesty. From our side, the beginning of the murder case of a journalist who until now has not been found its existence. Why do we say this is a murder? That's because we have evidence of CCTV footage of the last time the car was driven by the journalist. Following again came a man who claimed to be the brother of one of the victims by carrying evidence that is separate documents that are likely deliberately separated so that later when investigating this case only people the trusted one will be able to collect everything.

“More, when news about Mr. Handoko who was arrested by the police, there are parents of victims who contact us and provide some more documents and evidence that finally after being collected the results lead to one crime that underlies the murder of the journalist.

“In all the available evidence, the journalist turned out to know their actions that committed money laundering, murder, harassment and somehow let alone.”

Exposure from Papa Setya is quite long to make the judges discuss for a moment.

“Please your honorable apologies, I am also curious about the evidence mentioned by them. Can you show us the evidence so we know if they are just speculating or if it is true,”, said Alvindo lawyer.

The judge asked Papa Setya to show him the evidence. The first video shows Mr. Handoko coming with Mr. Alvindo and several sturdy men to Pak Angga's office. There they met and threatened Pak Angga not to interfere in their affairs let alone publish news about their case. But because Pak Angga still insisted on maintaining justice, they beat him as a warning.

The next video shows Mr. Angga was in the car and was calling and soon the door was opened and three people entered. Two on his left and right side and one sitting in front facing towards him.

“What is this?” ask Mr. Angga.

“Give me the documents. Otherwise your life will be drifting!” said the man on his left side.

“Oh so you are the man of Pak Handoko and Mr Alvindo?” guess Mr. Angga.

“Do not ask much. If you want to be safe, hand over the documents now. Or just tell me where you keep it. And if you still insist then your lover is the bet.”

“Do not touch him asshole. Any parent who can hurt their own child. Don't make it up,” said angry Mr. Angga.

“Hahaha, anything for money and job. Now quickly tell me where the document is or you will first hear the news of your lover's death before you catch up!” threatened again.

“Job! Don't fuck him. He has nothing to do with any of this. You guys just bullied me. I'm sure his parents wouldn't want to hurt his daughter for the sake of treasure and the throne. No need to lie to me. If you want to kill me but don't expect to find the document!” said Mr. Angga.

“Oh yes? Then what is this?” ask the man on the right side by giving a cellphone that might display a photo of Pak Angga's lover.

“Crazy! This is totally insane! His parents are too strong. All right, let him go and I'll give you the documents,” said Mr. Angga gave up after seeing the photo.

“Tell where the document is!”

“In my office.”

They grinned and then called someone.

“Pak documents are in the office. Then what are we doing this guy?”

“Good Sir.”

Unexpectedly, after calling the person directly stabbed Pak Angga's stomach with a dagger until he pulled blood from his mouth. Pak Angga was very surprised but could not avoid it again until he was taken out of the car.

After the video finished playing, the face of Mr. Handoko increasingly paled as well as Mr. Alvindo. He didn't think they had CCTV footage of the car. Mr. Alvindo felt it was in vain to have taken hostage Mr. Jayadi and his grandson and threatened Mr. Nizar. He did not know that the evidence in the hands of the other party was very accurate and also fatal for him.

Maharani returned hysterically watching the video where her beloved sister ended up due to a document.

“You guys are absolutely barbaric! Because your own fault sniffed but killed him. You killed my sister whom I raised with my own hands. The insolent! Even being imprisoned for a lifetime would not be enough!” mad cry Maharani Bu accompanied by his cry.

Papa Setya tried to calm Bu Maharani down and give her strength. Bu Maharani stared fiercely at Mr. Alvindo and Mr. Handoko alternately. If Mr. Handoko looks increasingly nervous, then Mr. Alvindo has managed to normalize the look on his face.

“Your highness, I want to ask the plaintiff first,” permission lawyer Mr. Alvindo.

“Please.”

“Thank you. Well Mr. Setya Wijaya, I will not doubt the results of the CCTV footage. But I'd like to ask you, have you properly reviewed the recording? It could be that they are the other party's submission on behalf of my two clients. They are great businessmen and envy from various parties of course there are and can justify any way to bring them down. Have you met the men in the car? Or is the person who provided the CCTV footage one of them?”  ask Mr. Alvindo's lawyer.

Papa Setya smiled faintly. This was the question he was most waiting for. If it is not wrong assessment then they will present Mr. Jayadi or Mr. Nizar.

“I got it from someone,” Papa Setya lightly replied. After all he would only go with the flow of their game first this time before taking out his weapon again.

“So you get from someone? Is this guy? Please assistant Revan bring in those people,” pinta mr. Alvindo's lawyer.

Sure enough, once the door was opened, Mr. Jayadi and Mr. Nizar were brought in by Revan's assistant. Behind him was Mr. Herman who came with a bruised face.

Mr. Erlangga who saw Mr. Herman was also there became increasingly shrivelled.

Has Herman been caught spying in that office? Mr Erlangga.

Unlike Mr. Erlangga, Mr. Handoko actually smiled happily because his assistant this time was very reliable.

Good Revan, you're the most reliable. After you Setya Vijaya, this time you will lose and the situation will turn against you.

Papa Setya looked at Qania who was also looking at him. They understand each other and provide support.

Mr. Alvindo is the most relaxed in this regard. He has their Aces so he can currently position himself as a party in the rank one.

“Sorry to interrupt your majesty. Sorry for interrupting the proceedings as well. But this time I came with witnesses as well as victims for the case alleged to Mr. Alvindo and Mr. Handoko. And I came from the plaintiff to strengthen their lawsuit,” said the outspoken assistant Revan who made them all surprised, especially the defendants namely Mr. Alvindo and Mr. Handoko.
