The Marriage Order

The Marriage Order
Lunch Invitation

I don't think the time for the wedding day is getting any closer. Today I met again on Sunday. The time that will run the next two weeks makes my heart beat faster.

I'm looking in the mirror in front of the dresser. Looking at the reflection of my shadow that is increasingly visible. Some small acne spots popping up due to stress, ugly.

Aunt Meri called me. He invited me to his house for lunch.

My eyes glanced at the table, I was tempted by the two jewels waiting to be worn at this time, a pearl bracelet and a pair of diamond earrings are gifts from two men who still have blood ties.

Sir Reynand could have liked me to such a reckless manner. But Sheryl ... Brother Baruna also gave the earrings with love. You must be insane now. It's still morning and you're even comparing your fiancee's gift to another man's.

Immediately, my choice fell on a pair of earrings that Kak Baruna gave me yesterday. I put the pearl bracelet back in the box. I don't want to see it.

Drrt-drrt-drr!

My phone rang, Brother Baruna called me.

"I've arrived. Come on down, baby."

"Okay, baby," I answered hurried out of the room.

I stood in the living room, facing him. Sister Baruna got up from the seat looking at me with a warm smile. He hugged me and we kissed.

"You're so beautiful today, baby," she said.

"So pretty even if you have acne like this?" I asked with a sour face.

"of course. Acne appears only a sign if in your body something is not balanced. Either your mind or maybe your hormones."

"You speak like a health worker, baby."

Brother Baruna just laughed a little at my words.

I laughed and praised, "You're always good-looking to me."

After that, our foreheads clashed with each other staring deeply and revealing a small smile. Suddenly Mom and Dad came to us. We pulled our bodies together.

"You're leaving already?" ask Papa.

"Yes, Om."

"Bar, be careful on the road. Greetings to both your parents. Maybe later in the afternoon we will come to visit your Grandfather," said Aunt Rini.

"Yes, Aunt. We're leaving now" said Baruna again. Me and Brother Baruna then shook hands with my parents.

We walked out to Kak Baruna's car parked in the yard. Not long after that the car slowly left my residence.

"You're a good fit to wear earrings from me" he said.

"Of course, your choice is never wrong. I love these earrings" I replied. "By the way, how's grandpa? weren't weuman?"

"Yet. I died this morning and there has been no significant development. The father is waiting for her."

"I'm so sad, baby."

"Have it, maybe it's the way."

I'm nodding. Baruna's sister was still focused on the view of the road in front of her. I started playing the phone to get bored.

Half an hour later, we arrived at Kak Baruna's courtyard. I saw a car I knew parked there. Mr. Reynand's car. I sighed, my two days off had to meet him.

Aunt Meri welcomed the two of us as usual with her warm smile and embrace.

"Finally arrived too. Let's help Auntie in the kitchen." He pulled my hand.

The deg!

Auntie, I can't cook! Is Aunt Meri testing me before I take care of her son's needs?

I looked back, my face pale. Brother Baruna laughed crisply at the look on my face.

Huh .. Why is Baruna just silent? This time I saw it as useless. I'm so embarrassed if I'm found out I can't do anything.

I passed through the middle room where my eyes caught the figure of Mr. Reynand playing his phone. Brother Baruna who was walking behind me turned towards the man. Now it's just me and Aunt Meri walking into the kitchen.

God help me!

I approached Reynand who was sitting on the sofa in the living room. His attention focused on the smartphone screen in the hand. He didn't realize I had been sitting nearby, looking at him with a question mark. What brought him to my house this morning?

"Old time, Rey?" my many.

He was shocked to look at me. Her cold eyes as usual made me never think this man could fall in love.

"Yes, that's fine."

"Tumben to the house. Aunt Aina knows you're here?" my many.

"No!" he answered and looked back at his phone.

Oh, my God, he almost made me bleed. Questions that were as long as a train, were answered with only one word.

"Okaya I stay first" I said as I got up from the sofa, stepped out of the room.

I haven't stepped out of the room yet, she called me, "Bar!"

I turned, scrunched my forehead in wonder. His eyes turned serious.

"Gue will compete in a healthy way" he said.

"Not given up yet?" ask me with a slightly dismissive tone of voice.

"We'll see later" he said, relaxing.

I put my shoulder down and walked away. Reynand just smiled wryly looking at my reaction that looked underestimating to her.

I went into the kitchen. Seeing three women are busy working shoulder to shoulder making some dishes. They are Mommy, Bi Rindang, and Sheryl. My mother just made a lunch like this. Chefs and others will exist. Why do I have to fight in the kitchen?

My gaze was then diverted to Sheryl who was frying fish while holding a large pot lid as a shield so as not to splash hot oil that exploded in front of her. Sometimes he screams in fear. I laughed seeing his behavior.

You made me love you more. Whatever you are now. You can cook or not. It's not important to me. You are still you. You're the one I love, Sheryl.

Reynand PoVs

Twelve o'clock in the afternoon ....

My eyes were getting tired of looking at the smartphone screen in front of me. I put the smartphone in a small bag. Long enough to be in the waiting room. I also stepped out of the room.

I haven't stepped out yet, Aunt Meri approached me. He took me to the dining room to enjoy lunch. Coincidentally, I was specially invited by him for a lunch together. Surprisingly, I did not reject the invitation.

"Rey, let's eat. The food is ripe," he said kindly.

"Yes, Auntie" I replied.

I followed him from behind. Arriving at the dining room, I gasped to see the lovers were already sitting waiting. I should have known, Aunt Meri couldn't have just invited me one. Yes, Sheryl .... We always meet.

I stepped awkwardly towards one of the dining room chairs. The six pairs of eyes followed my steps which immediately sat down the body. I show a cold face. The mood became quiet.

"We're just four?" my question while looking towards Aunt Meri.

"Yes, your father is still waiting for your grandfather in the hospital."

"Oh ...."

"Let's accompany Aunt to the hospital, yeah. Auntie wants to bring him some food."

I turned my eyes towards him. Aunt Meri sounded very gentle and friendly to me. He did not hesitate to ask me for help, his rival's son.

"Why see aunty like that?" ask Aunt Meri confused.

"Bun, Reynand just found out that you can be like that in front of her," Baruna's repulsive chirp made my face look embarrassed.

"You don't have to be sad because we are one big family" he added later, smiling warmly to melt my frozen heart.

"Ehm .. I mean yes, I just found out this family is so warm" I said smiling awkwardly.

They all looked at each other and laughed at my strange words before them. I glanced at Sheryl who was laughing. She's so sweet.
