The Marriage Order

The Marriage Order
S3 Endless Sweet Moments?

Sheryl Pov's

Before returning home, Reynand and I decided to take a walk around London. The cold daytime weather did not dampen our intention to return to the apartment. Anyway, it's our last day here. The place where I spent the last one lonely and miserable year.

We walked down Buckingham Palace Road, St. James Park, and Parliament House on the banks of the River Thames, which divides London. Still walking on the banks of the Thames, Reynand clasped his hands as if he didn't want me to go away from him.

I looked towards him. Due to the change in temperature, her white skin made her flushed ears appear prominent. At the same time he looked at me.

"What's wrong? Why look at me like that?"

I smiled and shook slowly. "Never imagined walking around like this with you."

The man drew his smile, he embraced me quickly. "No need to imagine I'm sure it could happen. Then tadaa! Here's us.... Together in this place. Just the two of you like a couple on a honeymoon."

I poked softly, then said, "If it had happened that way, Rey."

"could. Sure can! We'll definitely get married," he said so vigorously, then kissed my forehead.

"I've been dreaming like this for a long time. Walking with my partner in London in the fall. Don't you think this is so romantic?"

Reynand pulled out half her smile. "Eitherway. All seasons are the same for me when I set foot abroad. Hearing you say that I feel like your dream is very simple, Sher."

"Ha-ha-ha. Maybe because my honeymoon and Baruna used to happen in the summer. After that, we're even...." I was silent for a moment, "ah, sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up in front of you."

Reynand. "It's okay. I-i understand. It's not that easy to let go of past memories. What matters to me is the present and the future...." Reynand hung up her sentence. Suddenly he stopped his steps and looked back.

"What's up?"

Reynand turned her eyes back and shook her head quickly. "No. It's okay" he said as if hiding something.

I nodded even though there was something wrong with him.

"Aren't you tired of walking in those high boots?"

"Little."

"We're back, huh? I'm also pretty tired. Our journey is still long. We must save energy to return to Indonesia."

"Yes, Rey." I agree with my beloved's words. We rushed back to the apartment.

The next day....

Exactly at ten in the morning, the car driven by Mr. Zaki–, the driver of the Pradipta family stopped in front of my yard. Reynand and I opened the car door. Within a few seconds, he had put his hand on my wrist.

"My suitcase," I said I'd take it.

"Sir Zaki will drop your suitcase!" reynand said relax.

I'm turning. The driver of the Pradipta family seemed to drop off four large suitcases of mine.

"Thank you, sir!" I shouted at him, then Mr. Zaki was seen lowering his head while smiling.

"Come on!" reynand said confidently, leading me to the main door.

"Yes." Yeah."

We walked hand in hand. While Mr. Zaki who was carrying a suitcase walked behind us.

"Sheryl..," he said staring confusedly at me and Reynand. His eyes looked teary.

"Mama...."

The longing that was held back because never met for a year was finally paid off. We cuddled.

"Why didn't you say you were going home? Mama'll be able to pick it up," said Mama who did not even say hello to Reynand at all.

"I'm with Rey, Ma," I said, turning to Reynand.

A cold look was immediately directed at Mama to Reynand. My man put on his smile for a moment.

"Come in, Sher!" my mother's orders to me.

I nodded and turned towards Mr. Zaki. "Till here, sir. Thank you, yeah."

"Yes, Mom," he answered.

"Wait a minute in the car, sir." Reynand is the driver. Mr. Zaki nodded then passed away.

I pulled two suitcases. Reynand who wanted to help me grabbed the remaining two. But as she was about to enter, Mama suddenly said, "No need to bring Sheryl's suitcase, Rey. Let our housekeeper take him in."

Reynand took off my suitcase. With a smile that has not faded it he nodded obediently.

"Mama...." I protest a little.

"Come, Sher! Mama wants to talk to Rey."

"I went in, Rey," I said worriedly, but Reynand just nodded without saying a word. His voice looked calm as if it was ready to say everything he had in mind.

Reynand Pov's

Aunt Rini took me to sit on the porch. Before long, her housekeeper brought two cups of tea and placed them on the table. Sheryl's birth mother seemed silent for some time after we sat down. I don't know what he's thinking.

"Rey, you must be the one who's looking for her and seducing her to come home, right?" asked Aunt Rini while looking coldly at me.

"You could say yes, you could say no, Auntie. It just so happens that Sheryl's boss is my colleague. He had Sheryl pick me up at the airport at the time. Coming back to Indonesia is our decision together."

Aunt Rini nodded. "When a year has passed, Aunt is still worried about Sheryl, Rey. As you know his marriage and Baruna didn't work out. Long enough he locked himself in his room when he came back here. He felt hurt and guilty for falling in love with Baruna."

"I'm sorry, Auntie. Everything that happened to them cannot be separated from my selfishness that still has feelings of love for Sheryl. Baruna's problem of having children from other girls seemed to give me a chance to separate them."

"No. Apart from your position, Baruna was also wrong for betraying Sheryl."

"Aunty...." I can't speak. I don't know where to take this conversation.

"Tante knows you love Sheryl very much. Auntie also knows Sheryl has the same feelings. But your family seems so complicated. Your mother told Papa Sheryl that she wouldn't approve of your relationship."

"Mama said that?" I boughtak surprised. It's a fact I don't know at all.

"Yes. Therefore, Papa Sheryl who was initially angry at your father became increasingly angry with your family. He doesn't want you or Baruna to go back to Sheryl. So before your relationship goes too far, Auntie hope you understand and back off. It's hard if it's about self-esteem. Papa Sheryl can't be conquered, not even by Auntie herself."

I looked down, silent at Aunt Rini's words. My breath is so heavy. It felt like we wanted to get away from the family environment, and then we got married in a place where no one knew us.

"Whatever happens, I want to get married to Sheryl, Auntie. I want to make her happy" I said.
