The Marriage Order

The Marriage Order
Mr. Reynand (3)

My watch shows at ten o'clock in the evening when my sister and I Baruna will return from the residence of Kak Daniel and Indira. The rain that has just stopped falling makes the cold infiltrate the skin and joints. It seems like my body temperature is starting to warm up and clear mucus is starting to come out of my nose. Baruna looked at me surprised.

"That snot of yours" he ordered, taking out a handkerchief from behind his pocket, giving it to me.

I wiped my snot turning from them. Indira and Brother Daniel just laughed at our behavior.

"Niel, Dir, I'm the same Sheryl came home first huh. I'll stop by here sometime."

"Yes the Bar is ready" said Brother Daniel.

"Smuck it home don't wander around anymore. Sheryl has the flu" Indira added.

"Well, have you had a conversation with your brother Dir?" ask Brother Baruna.

Indira took a deep breath and said, "She is calm. Be all set." She smiles.

"Udah, don't lie to Dir. They're still pissed, aren't they?"

"Yes, but it will be good again. Today they're staying at the bar." Again, Indira smiled.

"Yes already."

"Sister Daniel, Dira, I say yes. Sorry not salaman first. My hands are full of viruses. Hahaha," I said with a laugh.

They all laughed at me. Me and Brother Baruna then set foot, opened the back door of the car and took his suit, gave it to me.

"Wear this to keep your body warm" she said.

"Thank you dear."

The scent of Kak Baruna's body perfume sticks firmly between the curves of her suit. The fragrance was getting into my nose which was actually starting to get clogged. The fragrance of the blend of exotic soft vanilla, masculine woody and fragrant apple makes me feel at home hugging the suit while closing my eyes.

Baruna observed my behavior and said, "Well, I'm jealous to see my suit treated like that."

I gasped in shock at opening my eyes at Kak Baruna's words. The hue of my embarrassed face could not lie, instantly blushing just like that. I was embarrassed and got into the car.

"Wear the suit don't hold on dear. I'll be really jealous of him" he said.

"Yes dear." I started wearing them and putting on my seat belt.

The car was alive and running galloped through the darkness of that night without stars because it was covered in dark clouds.

I flicked through the curtains on the second floor, peeked out from behind the window, saw Baruna and Sheryl bouncing home on the porch with Daniel and my sister Indira. My eyes cannot escape the woman's movements. My secretary who has only been working with me for about three weeks.

Her beautiful face changed my world. His tall body as high as a perfect curve as if to hypnotize me every time we meet.

His brave attitude against me made it hard to fall asleep every night thinking about it. She looks a bit like my sister Indira. Maybe I had liked her, considering that Indira and I had been in a loving relationship, or maybe because she belonged to Baruna I was challenged to immediately snatch her from her embrace. Am I jealous of my stepbrother? I don't know if I can define why I keep looking at him like this.

I turned to her, my mother the only one I loved so much, she looked at me with her shady gaze. I stepped towards him.

"What's the matter Ma?" my many.

"What are you peeking out from behind the window?"

"They're home" I replied.

"You know, son, Mama was very sad when Dira said such words."

"Ma has nothing to think about. Mama better get some rest," comfort me.

"can't. Years of living like this and taking this drug is not without risk dear."

"Calm Ma. Then how should I?" I hugged my mother tightly. This middle-aged woman who strengthens me in all the good and bad conditions I face.

"Everyone doesn't know the real thing, baby" Mama pulled her body from my arms.

"Yes Ma I know. Why didn't Mama tell them?"

"Mama actually doesn't want to deal with them anymore. But Mama felt guilty about hiding something important like this for years from you. You have to keep this in mind."

"Yes, I always remember Mama's words. Mama married for arranged marriages, became a wife and was the victim of physical and verbal abuse committed by Anton's father. He also betrayed my mother first. Having an affair with Aunt Meri behind Mom. It's what keeps getting embedded in my brain, Ma."

"Yes you have to remember how much Mama hates them all. Mama's been trying to be a good wife even though Mama spent a lot of time in your grandfather's company Pradipta. Then in the end met Indira's father who had become a widower and married him." Mama told me about her past that I've heard so many times lately.

Bored of? Sure oes. But many parents are like that. They love to tell the things they have talked about before.

I just kept quiet. Mama's feeling of vengeance seemed to permeate my body tight.

"But Rey, you're still your father's flesh and blood. You are entitled to his inheritance even though it turns out that your grandfather still holds power over all the inheritance. Mama didn't want the child of her affair to be the sole heir."

I took a deep breath and said in a heavy voice, "Yes Ma, everything I do is for you."

"Yes, you must obey your mother. Don't try to play with fire" exclaimed Mama firmly. "Oh yeah, that matchmaking isn't always bad. You should get married too. When are you going to sing Rey?"

"Mama must be talking about Kayla" I guess.

"Yes Rey. Less what is he? Beautiful, tall, fashionable anyway. That's the kind of woman we like."

Kayla, Kayla, the beautiful woman Mama chose that she introduced to me did have everything Mama mentioned. But she's just a spoiled woman. I was just playing it so I wouldn't be saturated with my life as a result of heartbreak when Dira preferred Daniel over me.

Mama then put her body on the bed.

"Mama will also fight for you Rey" he said.

"Yes Ma" I said briefly.

I rubbed Mama's already whitened hair. Leaving him as he fell asleep then turning around to take out a cigarette from behind my jacket, stepping out towards the balcony of the room and starting to suck on it little by little.
