I let Mr. Reynand gently wipe the whip cream off my lips with a piece of tissue he was holding. Our eyes met, not too long ago but enough to make a little tremor like a gentle electric shock that flowed my blood. I turned my eyes the other way. Indira who noticed the sight smiled knotfully.
Mr. Reynand immediately turned away from us. He left the kitchen with his slightly stiff steps. I looked at her while holding back laughter, as well as Indira, suddenly her laughter broke out looking at her brother's attitude.
"Dir, why are you laughing so hard?" my many.
"It's a pity you didn't see him. Kak Rey's face .. she's ashamed to see your face."
"Why is he ashamed to see me?"
"Gue doesn't know. Lupain aja. I'm almost done too. Just bake this cake." Indira put the cake in the oven.
Mr Reynand is ashamed of me**?
I took a deep breath and then exhaled it. Indira looked at me, she shook her head.
"Sher, will Baruna pick you up?"
"Oh yes Dir, I haven't informed him that I'm at your nyokap home." I took my phone, called her right away.
Indira then continued his activities. Brother Baruna answered my call.
"Have you come home, baby?" my many.
"It has. Are you going home yet?"
"Yes, after this. Indira is baking the cake."
"Well, I'll pick you up now."
"Wait!"
"What's up?"
"Fetch me at Mr. Reynand's."
"Reynand? What are you doing there?"
"Indira asked me to make a cake here."
"But you didn't say it."
"I thought I'd help make that cake at Indira's house. But it turns out he brought me here.
"I'm going there!"
Baruna's sister hung up. His suddenly high tone of voice convinced me that he was holding back an upset.
Half an hour later the cake that Indira made was finished. Indira brought the cake to walk into Aunt Aina's room. I followed him from behind.
"Happy birthday, Mama!" exclaim Indira and Mr. Reynand simultaneously.
I'm looking for where that man's voice came from. My head looked back. Mr. Reynand stood smiling at me, as I turned my eyes straight ahead.
The dry Kanebo began to damp.
Aunt Aina welcomed us smiling. He put the magazine he read beside his bed and removed the reading glasses he wore.
"Thank you my children!"
"Sheryl helped me too, Ma!" indira.
"Yes Dira, Sheryl also helped you," said Aunt Aina flatly and then shifted the conversation, "Rey, why don't you bring Kayla here?" ask Aunt Aina.
"Just call him. Maybe now he's having fun with his friends" Reynand said.
"Then anyway? Mama's gonna call him now." Aunt Aina seemed to be in disbelief with her son's words.
He immediately grabbed the phone from inside the nightstand beside him contacting Kayla. I felt like a stranger was among them. I just kept quiet and turned around and walked out of the room. Mr. Reynand suddenly withdrew my hand. He prevented me from coming out, his face as if asking me to stay there.
"It seems like this isn't my place. I want to find the wind outside" I said slowly. Mr. Reynand then let go of his hand.
I rushed out of the room and sat on a chair on the porch. I wait for Brother Baruna who will come to pick me up soon. I'm chin-backed, my mind drifting somewhere. To the point that I didn't realize that Mr. Reynand was sitting next to me.
"Schaft ... Sher!" his call made my daydreams wither away instantly.
I turned to look towards him. Our views meet again. Why does he look so handsome today? I kept looking at him without even blinking a single bit.
"What are you watching?" the question held back a little laughter.
I quickly lowered my face. Mr. Reynand brought his face closer.
"Hey .. I just asked and you looked down not looking at my face. Have I been so scary in your eyes?"
"No, Sir." I raised my head.
"Can you stop calling me with that 'Sir' word? I'm not your boss anymore" he asked.
I was silent not answering. To me, calling him "Sir" became a necessity where I created my own wall. Hope our relationship does not become closer, beyond our present relationship. I realized, Brother Baruna is so jealous of her. I don't want our relationship to be ruined.
"I'm sorry, I seem to have gotten used to calling you that and I can't change it," I declined his request.
"Okay, I'm not forcing either. It's just, a little weird in my ears. We've no professional relationship, Sher."
"Just say it's a special name from me" I laughed.
Mr. Reynand raised both his eyebrows nodding his head in understanding. I don't know what he was thinking at the time. I don't give a shit.
Not long after a sports car entered the gate of Mr. Reynand's house. I know him, Baruna came to pick him up.
He got out of his car and walked up to us who were talking together. Sister Baruna bent her face annoyed at seeing us who looked familiar.
"Let's go home!" bring him.
Me and Mr. Reynand stood up. Without further ado Baruna immediately pulled my hand forcibly. I haven't been able to follow Brother Baruna's steps, suddenly Mr. Reynand pulled another hand. They then stared at each other sharply.
"This is not the way to visit, Bar," he said seriously.
"Gue just wanted to pick up my fiancee. I don't want to visit you at home" said Kak Baruna with a slightly raised voice.
"Gue the host is here. The rule is there's no compulsion to come and go from here."
Baruna's sister slid her eyes at Mr. Reynand's hand, which pulled my hand, "Gue never allowed another man to touch my fiance's arm."
Mr. Reynand did not reply to Kak Baruna's words. He suddenly let go of his hand, letting me and Kak Baruna step into the car and just go home. I looked at his face, a disappointment radiating from his eyes as he looked at us leaving him.
"Darling, if I had known you had gone to Reynand's house, I would have banned you" Baruna's sister told me to turn her eyes straight at him.
"I don't know either, dear."
"You see, he likes you. I never misjudged it. Don't let her into our relationship. I don't want you to get close to him."
I gulped my saliva, the words of Kak Baruna made me sad. He is like a man who does not believe in his own partner. But actually, he was currently burning with jealous flames. I'm trying to understand that too.
"Are you listening to my words?" tanyakanya.
I just nodded. Brother Baruna smiled. He grabbed my hand holding it tight.
"I want us to get married soon" he said suddenly.
"Patience, sweetheart. There's less than three weeks left until our wedding day" I said.
"I'll make you happy all my life, baby."
"I know that. You don't have to say it many times. I just love you too" I said back in his arms.
The speeding car brought us back into a warm atmosphere. I just hope our happiness doesn't end here.
