The Marriage Order

The Marriage Order
Heart Debate

Baruna PoVs

The rain just came down. The dark clouds showed their power that night. I just got to the front of my yard after I drove Sheryl back home. Time just showed at eight o'clock. With a slow step, I set my foot inside the house.

I saw my whole family in the living room. They seem to be discussing something important. I kept walking straight, not wanting to talk much. I'm still angry at my own family.

The mother who saw me walking turned her head towards me. He called my name.

"Baruna!"

My steps stopped for a moment and then looked. Without a word, I walked over to them.

"Here sit!" mother's orders.

I took a sitting position with them. Their serious-looking faces bother me a little. I want to immediately unpack all the things they've been hiding all this time.

Grandfather Cloud let out a long breath. It seems he will speak at length.

"Baruna, it seems like we can't hide this much longer," Grandfather opened the conversation. I listened to the number one word in my family.

"Dad knows later you asked Mr. Wicak for help to find out the contents of the Marriage Order agreement. I'll just shut up and let you know."

"Did Grandpa and Dad realize that you were all on a show and were on the wrong side?" my many.

"Therefore Grandpa wants to explain to you. This deal was done solely for you and Elvina, Sheryl's grandmother."

"God .... Why am I being carried around, cake? What happened to Grandma Elvina?"

"Elvina was a friend of Grandpa from childhood. This marriage was born from her mouth. He wanted one of his descendants to marry Grandpa's descendant. My grandfather promised to make it happen. Like it or not, from childhood we get used to you meeting. Grow together, hoping that there are seeds of love to emerge. In fact, you're really in love with her."

"If this is all based on it, why should there be a word of debt between you? I can't stop thinking, Grandpa and Dad took advantage of the company's condition that was collapsing under such conditions. What kind of best friend is that?" my snoring.

"Grandfather bought it for you, Bar. We know that you loved her for a long time. But he doesn't seem interested in you at all. Grandpa just helped you guys unite. Now the proof is that she really loves you, isn't she?"

"Sheryl's not a toy, Cake. I never forced him to be mine. I love him for who he is. If he knew my family and his family treated him like this, he would be very disappointed."

They all fell silent. They never really thought about our feelings. The resigned chess pawn was played by both owners.

"I never expected to be the sole heir either. Grandpa should be fair as the head of the family. All of you must immediately reconcile with Aunt Aina. The agreement must also be terminated immediately. One more thing, as long as you know, Reynand likes Sheryl. I don't want it to be a competition between us!" seruku long wide.

Father and Mother took a deep breath. They know what I'm talking about. Grandfather was silent too. Indeed, peace is not an easy thing, especially if the mistake has been done for too long. A sense of pride in apologizing is like a big wall in the way.

I got up from my seat. My heart feels so bad knowing all this. Disappointment rippled into my entire bloodstream. Having a family like this, I think.

I went into my quiet, pensive room. There was soft music coming from my phone, Sheryl called me.

"Darling, are you home yet?"

"Yes, I've arrived."

"I'm waiting for you from earlier."

"Sorry, I was talking to my family."

"Oh .. Yeah, I just wanted to ask you that. You clean up first. I'll call you again."

"Honey, how about after marriage we just leave this country? We live where people don't know us at all."

"Hey .. are you drunk?"

"No. I'm very conscious at this moment."

"I will always go wherever my husband goes. Where there is he, there lies my happiness."

"Thank God you think that way. I'm so happy."

"I love you."

"I love you more. Yeah, I'm taking a shower."

Sheryl ended her phone call. I am still sitting on the sofa bed. My mind is still drifting far away trying to get rid of the negative thoughts that fester.

Reynand PoVs

I just parked my vehicle in Kayla's yard. He safely arrived at his home. Kayla opened her seatbelt to get off. He looked towards me.

"You coming by, Rey?"

"No Kay. I'm tired and want to get some rest" I replied.

"You don't want to meet my parents?"

"Let's go" I said briefly.

Kayla took a breath and said, "You really are...."

"I why? I used to be like this. Nothing has changed."

Kayla brought her face closer to me. Kissing my lips, attacking him suddenly. I'm not playing back the game. I held her shoulder, pushing her body away. Staring at her face was sharp, indicating that I was really angry with her.

"You're rejecting me, Rey?" Kayla looks disappointed.

"I just don't want to. Never do anything like this again.

"But Rey, I love you" said Kayla.

"But I don't love you, Kay. You know that. Let's just end this."

"No! I don't want to! Don't say it again!" Kayla covered both her ears. He did not want to hear the words I had said many times.

"If it wasn't for my mother, I wouldn't have done this. You better realize that. I never loved you. I'm just playing around."

"Bad you, Rey!"

"I warned you before it was too late. Before your heart falls too deep into me."

"I know, I get it, I really understand who's in your heart right now. But he's getting married soon. You can't take it. He belongs to your stepbrother. You got a heart, Rey?"

I was silent not answering Kayla's question. His words have a point. Especially I'm not who he is.

"My words are right, right?" Kayla looked me in the eye with a smile.

"You can come down now" I replied coldly.

"You want to run away from my question? Cih ... This Rey is so sick!" Kayla was blushing her lips.

He opened the car door and slammed it hard. Walk quickly without looking back.

I grabbed a piece of tissue cleaning my lips that were flushed from the lipstick she was wearing. My frustration is mounting, I should never have given Kayla the chance to get into my life.

No one has the right to forbid me to love another woman, including Kayla.

I stepped on the gas pedal of my car walking out of Kayla's yard through the raindrops that started to fall to earth.
