Sheryl Pov's
Feeling Baruna's lips touching mine, I immediately pushed her body hard. The man I once loved finally let me go. His breath seemed to be stingy withstanding such a powerful emotional turmoil. While I was fixated in a look of disbelief in what he had just done.
"You've really gone crazy, Mom!" I shook my head, "you must remember, you're married! Fely's pregnant with your child, too."
Baruna grinned. But the look in his eyes had not changed as if he did not care what I said. "I'll divorce her! And you'll come back to me."
Praang!
The loud sound of broken glass suddenly sounded. We both turned to the source. Felicia was in the doorway. Looking up at us. I glanced at the floor around Felicia. Many crystal glass shards scattered. He dropped the glass from his hand. Felicia didn't open her mouth. A moment later, the woman turned around and left just like that.
"Fely!" Baruna yelled, but Felicia didn't budge. He kept walking away from us. Without saying any more words, Baruna immediately went after him.
The crystal glass of Felicia who fell down invited some invited guests to come and set their eyes on me who was still standing there. Realizing it made me very uncomfortable. That look seemed to expose me, as if I was the one who made a mess. Various pieces of past memories are again present in the memory. From the moment of my marriage and Baruna being so happy then gradually destroyed due to the presence of Felicia and the feelings of love that appeared for Reynand.
I don't know since when, Reynand suddenly stood in front of me. The man then put on his suit. "You okay?" he asked worriedly, but I did not give a single sentence as the answer. Even my feet felt limp to just stand there.
They quarrel. Am I the one who became the criminal? Did Reynand see Baruna kiss me? Would he be angry if he found out? Yep. For the next time, I hurt Reynand again.
Not getting an answer left Reynand saying nothing more. The good man immediately grabbed my hand, immediately taking me away from the veranda. He does not care about the views of people towards his lover at this time. The man only asked a servant to clean the crystal glass shards. Meanwhile, I was busy hearing the invited guests start whispering to each other.
"See the woman brought by Mr. Pradipta! He just made a mess!"
"I saw that woman kissing her ex-husband."
"People Reynand. That woman just betrayed him."
"He is a widow! Shouldn't have gotten a single son from Mrs Pradipta."
"It seems, after this it will be exciting!"
So many negative sounds heard in my ears made me sigh and exhale many times to just set myself up so as not to be emotional.
"Don't listen to those whispers!" reynand said slowly.
"Rey...." I stopped my steps in the middle of the room.
Reynand turned to look at me. His forehead was waiting for me to speak.
"Did you see everything?" my many.
"Seeing?"
I pulled my hand off Reynand. Despite not returning Baruna's kiss, I still felt guilty towards Reynand. I shouldn't have been on the porch alone with my ex-husband.
"Regarding the incident just now. Baruna kissed me forcibly. I'm sorry, Rey. I didn't know he was going to be that crazy. I think I hurt you again."
"Yes, I saw you with Baruna there...." Reynand did not continue his words. I saw his face turn sad. "I-i"
Reynand remained silent. He did not answer a single word until it made my heart beat so anxiously waiting. I was too afraid that he would end our relationship. Suddenly Reynand grabbed my hand to get closer to her.
Right now, our eyeballs are looking at each other full of love. Not caring about the eyes of those who were pointing at us, Reynand said to me, "Truly, I do feel pain seeing you with him. Moreover, when he dares to kiss you like that...."
"Rey ...." Instantly, I felt very guilty for hurting her, "I'm sorry. I-"
"I trust you so much. I can get through everything with you. The most important thing in this relationship is the two of us, right?" reynand added, then paused for a moment before finally saying back, "you should know, right now I really don't want to care anymore about the others. Seeing and hearing what happened earlier made me sure how we both felt. After all, I've loved you so much."
I lifted both corners of my lips. Looking at her, her eyes were so softly looking. It feels unable to withstand all the turmoil of feelings that have been so explosive since. Even though we were in the midst of the invited guests, I didn't want to hold them back anymore.
"I love you too" I said.
Reynand hugged me. Then, he grabbed my hand, suddenly wrapping a ring with a beautiful diamond on my ring finger.
"Rey, i-it's...." My eyes glanced at the ring that had been beautifully installed.
"Sheryl, in the middle of this ballroom, I want to say something that will change my next life journey" the man said.
I raised my face. Can't believe hearing the words he just said. The look on his face clearly showed seriousness.
Is he going to propose to me in the midst of a crowd like this? Is he not afraid that people will talk about us more? And Aunt Aina.. Where is she? What if he knew his son would propose to me in front of his invited guests? Don't say that now, Rey. Your mother will come and hate me even more.
"Marry me, Sheryl" Reynand said in a loud voice.
"Tu-wait, Rey! You're not really sure what you're saying, are you? Here's your mother, Rey!" my mouth whispered and spread my eyes across the room. I'm afraid Aunt Aina realizes what's going on.
Sure enough! In the midst of the invited guests, I saw Aunt Aina walking over to us. My eyeballs are moving in closer and closer motion. Then, he stopped his steps. He looked at me with his face always cold.
"Why did you just shut up and hang up my son's proposal?"
"My-me ...." I became nervous in front of him.
"Rey, tell your future wife that you've approved and accept her to be Mama's daughter-in-law."
One sentence that came out of his mouth instantly made both of my eyeballs round in disbelief. While Reynand who was in the middle of us continued to show a smile and meaningful expression.
"August ...." I said shrewdly. Unknowingly my tears flowed. At that moment my cry broke and I couldn't say anything. Aunt Aina is approaching. He hugged me tightly. The woman rubbed my back so gently. I could feel how his attitude changed and was instantly able to forget all his arrogance all along.
"I'm sorry, Sheryl" she whispered in my ear, "I want you to know that I don't really hate you. I was just trying to protect my son. Believe that! If you become a mother, you'll know how that feels."
I do not speak with words, but only with a nod. Aina's aunt then unraveled her embrace. He looked at me with a smile. The woman stretched out her hand, wiping away the tears that had flooded my cheeks.
"So, how?" Reynand asked me again. Pulling his smile.
I looked at the man I loved so much. A small and timid nod became the answer. Yep! I'm happy to accept your proposal.
