I was still in the lobby of my office sitting staring at the rain that never stopped. My meeting with Fandy just now was probably my last. Surprisingly I did not shed a single tear. Our relationship that ended only left me angry and disappointed with him.
Time has shown at seven o'clock in the evening. Office buildings that were still a little crowded the longer the more deserted uninhabited. Mr. Wira approached me.
"Sheryl's sister hasn't been picked up yet?"
"Not Sir."
"It's lonely, Ma'am. I just want to change shifts."
"Yes, Sir. All right, then I'll say it first." I decided to step outside the building.
The rain is falling more and more. The taxi was waiting in front of the lobby. I was just about to take a taxi when I suddenly saw Kak Baruna's car stop right behind the taxi. Sister Baruna got off her car waving her hands with her body and clothes soaking wet. Not only that, I also noticed there were a lot of blood red stains stuck on his white shirt.
Holy hooch! Brother Baruna why? Is he hurt? But he doesn't seem to be in pain.
I gasped at him. Even the look on my face could not hide the anxiety.
He walked up to the taxi driver I ordered, not long after the taxi driver left. Things like this have happened before. He twice drove out my order taxi driver.
Brother Baruna came up to me who was still standing outside the lobby. "Let's go home!" bring him.
"Big brother why?" I was confused as I rolled my eyes towards his shirt.
Brother Baruna who understood my question immediately replied, "Let me explain in the car."
Brother Baruna took my hand, we both got into the car. He put my seat belt on. The car went along with the rain that greeted us.
In the car, the smell of blood irritates the smell of my nose. I remembered the bloodstains on Kak Baruna's shirt. I looked back, the smell was getting better. But I don't ignore it.
"I'm sorry I'm late for you."
"Yes Brother. Brother why can I blow like that? And what's the blood stain?"
Brother Baruna glanced at his shirt, "I'm sorry if you're bothered by the stain and fishy smell of blood in this car. So, on the way to your office, I saw a traffic accident, a hit-and-run victim. Since no one cared, I went straight down to help her and drove her to the hospital."
"Why not tell me?"
"I'm sorry, Sher. I just happened to realize that my phone was left in my room and I couldn't reach you. Fortunately, I memorized my assistant's phone number. So, I can ask for help to take my phone to the hospital right then and there," explained Kak Baruna at length.
"Oh, then how are the hit-and-run victims, brother?"
"So it's been handled in the IGD. Now still accompanied by Mr. Wicak. I'm asking him to take care of everything, '" he added.
"Thank God it's been handled. I thought nothing happened with Brother, called but not picked up. Send messages not reciprocated."
"Calm down, my condition's fine, isn't it? You've had dinner yet?"
"Not yet Brother. I'll wait for you two hours. Long time," I protested.
"Yes I'm sorry, Sher. We'll eat first."
"Then what's your shirt? It's impossible to eat in public wearing a blood-stained shirt like that. It's wet .. Brother will get sick." I glanced at his shirt again.
"Yes yes .... Oh yeah, please get me the paper bag that's behind it!" said Mr. Baruna.
Immediately, I picked up the paper bag he designated. I looked at the bag. A black shirt and a trousers still wrapped in plastic. There is still a selling price tag.
"New shirt and pants, brother?" my many.
"Yes, I asked for help to be brought by Mr. Wicak. Luckily still hunting picked you up, too."
"Yes, still hunting. But I was leaving you."
Not long after, Baruna pulled her car over the shoulder of the road. He opened his shirt pack and started unbuttoning the shirt still attached to his body one by one.
"Stop! Brother, don't undress here!" I shouted while closing my eyes with both palms.
"Why?"
"I'm ashamed."
"Yes, don't look" he replied indifferently, trying to remove all the buttons on his shirt and replace them with new shirts.
"My pants are wet too. Wait a minute, I'll change first. You don't peep, yeah," he said again.
"Ish ... so confident! Who wants to peek" I said with eyes still clinging to the palm.
"Already! You can open your eyes" Baruna said as she finished changing her shirt and pants.
I opened my eyes, turned to him for a moment and looked straight back to the front. I don't want to see him for too long, maybe he'll feel good-looking. But I actually hate the fact that he's a handsome guy.
We also continued our journey. Baruna's sister seemed focused on her steering wheel and didn't ask much.
"I've really broken up with my boyfriend." I started to open the conversation.
"Why? You're the one who insists on being with him the most?"
"Everything is not as beautiful as expected. Honestly I'm disappointed he ...." I did not continue my words. The words that wanted to come out felt stuck in the throat. Even the tongue feels stiff, can not throw a single word.
"Don't keep going if it feels heavy to you. I'm still here with you, Sher."
I could not resist the pain that I had been holding back desperately, in the end I cried bitterly in front of Kak Baruna. I thought I wouldn't cry for her anymore, but I was wrong. Again Baruna saw me crying like this. I felt like a weak woman in front of him.
"This time I let you cry over him again. But this is the last one. I will not hesitate to look for him and teach him a lesson if he makes you cry again" said Kak Baruna.
Ten minutes later we arrived at a western food restaurant. Niel Western Restaurant. The restaurant looks crowded at night. The parking lot was almost full when we got there.
"Have you cried?" Brother Baruna turned towards me with her distinctive smile.
"Yes, brother," I replied in a hoarse voice.
"Let's get out. You must be hungry. Usually if the emotions and crying stomach will feel hungry," said Kak Baruna invite me down from the car.
I smiled at his words. He made me feel comfortable for the second time today. We entered the restaurant and sat at an empty table with the name "Baruna".
"Hi Bar, how are you?" A man of Baruna's age approached us.
Brother Baruna turned his head to the origin of the voice that greeted him. Seen the figure of a tall lackey with undercut modelled hair greeted us. "Well, Niel? The restaurant is getting rame."
"Yes fine, Bar. I'm doing fine. I'm surprised dong said you wanted to come here. Long time ago you did not come. I think alone, uh same girl." The man glanced at me. I put on a smile looking at the man.
"Oh yeah, Daniel it's Sheryl. Sheryl this is Daniel, my college student." Baruna introduced us both.
"Daniel." Brother Danie extended his hand.
"Sheryl." I welcome his hands, shake hands with each other.
"Lo can pesen first want to eat what. We'll talk again. I'll go inside for a minute and call my wife."
"Okay, thank you, Bro," said Kak Baruna.
Brother Daniel then left us both. We sat down at the table he had prepared.
