The Marriage Order
Family Meetings

Baruna PoVs

My family and I just arrived at Aunt Aina's house. We stepped up a little hesitating, but we immediately dismissed the doubt, stood by and waited for someone to open the door. Not long after a middle-aged female servant opened the door for us.

"Please enter. Madam Aina and the others were already waiting inside," he said.

The waiter let in and showed me where Aunt Aina and the others were waiting to sit in the living room. The atmosphere stiffened instantly as my family met face to face with the woman. Not only Aunt Aina, even Indira, and Daniel also accompanied there. Strange sight when I didn't see Reynand there.

I didn't see Reynand, where was he?

"Welcome to my humble home. Before, please sit down all." Aunt Aina stood up and invited us to sit down together.

Me and the others sat themselves on the couch. But suddenly Mother stepped and hugged tightly the figure of Aunt Aina who was still standing before her.

"From the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry for everything, Aina," she said slowly. Tears began to fall on both sides of her cheeks.

Aunt Aina gasped round her eyes at the sudden action of the Mother. Before long, he relaxed his eye muscles and looked at us haughty as ever. He pulled himself in, letting go of the arms of his ancient rival.

"Does it take thirty-one years to apologize like this?" Aunt Aina raised her next to her eyebrows.

"You talk, Aina! This is what you want? Ask Meri to apologize to you!" exclaims Dad upset, do not accept with words Aunt Aina against Mother.

"Hey Anton, you're so defensive of your wife, huh! If you just want to make a mess, please get out of my house." Aunt Aina stared cynically.

"No Mas ... Mas do not need to interfere," Mother turned to look at Father for a moment and then turned her gaze back toward Aunt Aina. "Yes, I plead guilty. I put too much emphasis on my ego. Too scared to meet you. I beg you to forgive my mistake, Aina."

Mother, why should I apologize to you like this?

My heart was filled to witness the action of Mother who apologized, filled with regret. But feel relieved if they really make up. But grandfather, he looked confused by the scene that was happening in front of him. It seems he doesn't know what's going on.

Aunt Aina raised her face pongah. He did not answer Mother's words, turning his gaze toward us who were standing before him. Then let us all sit down.

Suddenly the door of the living room opened, Reynand emerged from behind the door. The look on his face was awkward at once, as we all looked towards him. He moved closer to his mother and sister.

Reynand looked at the confused Mama. "Have I missed anything?" tanyakanya.

Aunt Aina turned to him and said, "No son, we're just getting started. Where are you from?"

"I have a little business, Ma."

"Please shake hands with your other family, son."

Reynand turned his gaze towards us. His slightly cold face was shown to us. He then reached out his hand to shake his hand, which was immediately greeted with greetings from us.

"So, what have I missed? Sorry, if I just came to this meeting," he said with a small smile, then sat down with us

"Where are you from, Rey?" ask Daniel slowly.

"Gue's been meeting for a while" he replied, glancing at me.

Why is he staring at me?

"What's the meeting on Saturday, Rey?" daniel asked confused.

Reynand simply smiled not answering Daniel's question. I can only observe those who speak slowly.

"I'll get some drinks and some food first, sister" Indira told Reynand, who was answered by a nod. Indira then rose from her seat to the kitchen.

Aunt Aina's face was back in seriousness. He then said, "I don't want to prolong the problems that happened in the past. Forgiveness is my business with God. Now I just want justice for my son!" emphatically.

"What do you mean, Aina?" ask Dad while wrinkling his forehead confused.

Aunt Aina took a deep breath, she tried to hold back a little of her emotions. Reynand and Daniel were silent at their mother's behavior.

"I want Reynand to be the sole heir of the Asyraf family. Let's just say it's compensation for Anton and Meri's treatment of me. I'm the one who's hurt."

Daniel who had seen his in-laws talking had started itching to ask in a high voice, "Mama, what does this all mean?!"

"Ma, I've been friends with Baruna for a long time and I've known her and her family well" Daniel replied.

Aunt Aina simply raised her eyebrows turned towards her daughter-in-law, smiling meaningfully. Reynand didn't talk much. Maybe it wasn't her right to interfere in speaking. I glanced at Grandfather who was just silent, looking confused by the situation that had happened.

"Aina, you don't joke around" Dad said.

"I never joke about my words, Anton."

"You disappeared first and limited your communication from our family. You're the one who never let me meet my son" Dad said.

"Wait on! I don't understand the situation, Dad." Suddenly Reynand interrupted.

"Yes, you're my son and I'm never allowed to see you. Is that a fair move for a father?" ask rhetorical father.

Reynand turned towards the mother, her face looking confused. I immediately broke both.

"Tante, stop this. It's all over. I know dad was wrong. He also confessed and apologized. Is it not enough to apologize to my parents?"

"Baruna, apparently you are an adult and can defend your family. However, an apology is only limited to speech. I want proof" he replied casually. He then rolled his eyes at me, "Anton, have you ever told your father the truth?" Aunt Aina glanced at father.

Silent father did not answer Aunt Aina's question. For him, it might be a shame to say the truth.

"Why are you quiet, Anton?" ask again while glancing sharply.

Dad shuddered not to answer. But I do know why he would mind telling the truth. It would be a shame if he admitted that he had committed domestic violence.

Not long after, he suddenly began to speak up, "Dad, I have indeed sinned against my ex-wife. Anything you hear other than this fact, but it's just my essay."

Grandfather gasped at the sudden words of father. His face turned disappointed.

"Anton, I think we came here to mediate the issue of heirs. But as it turned out, I was surprised by Aina's true testimony. You've wronged him, Ton," said Grandfather in a disappointed tone.

"Dad, sorry I lied. All I did was because I was disappointed in my father's act of setting me up with him!"

Grandpa's face blushed instantly. Suddenly he held onto his chest, grimacing in pain.

"Grandfather!" my yelling.

Grandpa was suddenly unconscious on the sofa.

"Grandfather! Grandpa!" I patted her on the shoulder, but there was no response, then brought my ear closer to her chest. His heart and breath are still there.

"How, Bar?" ask Mother to panic.

"Grandfather fainted, Bun," I replied.

"Baruna, we need to get your grandfather to the hospital right away!" father's orders.

I'm nodding. Reynand and Daniel, who saw the incident, quickly moved out of their seats, helping us pick Grandpa up and take him by car to the hospital.

Aunt Aina looked limply at Grandpa. His haughty face disappeared from my sight replaced by a shady look, slightly regretting his actions.
