Alarm tones from the phone continue to sound in the ear. I tried to reach the phone on the bed and turn it off no matter what. The overwhelming sleepiness still assaulted me. But there was another disturbing sound.
Wh-tok-tok!
"Deck .... Wake up!" Reza's sister knocked on my room door.
I opened my eyes in shock hearing the voice of Brother Reza.
"What's up, brother?" I got out of bed and opened the door.
"See what time it is? Time is money. You didn't go to work?"
I looked up at the wall clock. I widened my eyes in surprise to see the clockwork on the number half-eight.
"Sister, wait a minute." I beg.
"Yes cepet. Five minutes, yeah."
I immediately ran to the bathroom. Brother Reza just shook his head looking at my behavior. Five minutes later I was dressed. I then took the bag and rushed to the office with Kak Reza and Papa.
"Why don't you dance?" ask Reza who saw me without makeup.
"Later, easy."
"What are we doing today Za?" asked Papa who was sitting next to Ka Reza.
"Meet the director of Pradipta Corp."
"Oh .... The new director? What's name?"
"Reynand Alex Pradipta."
I was surprised, "Sir Reynand of my company, Brother?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"Yes he's my boss now and I'm his secretary."
This time it was Brother Reza who was surprised, "Seriously? Since when?"
"Today."
"A lot of news circulating he is a cold and reliable businessman. He is also a man with no heart. You be careful, Deck."
"Yes Brother."
Just by looking at it yesterday I was able to conclude he was a cold person. If I don't have a heart, I don't know yet, even though yesterday Dena resigned suddenly after working with him for a week. What was my fate on the first day of working with him? Hopefully he's like that only to certain people.
"You if there's a problem in your work just get out. Better to raise your own company than anyone else's, son." Papa.
"Yes Pa, I know."
After a while, I arrived at the office, stepped into the elevator. My work space is now on the tenth floor. I glanced at my watch which was already showing eight o'clock over fifteen minutes.
Oh my God, I'm fifteen minutes late. How should I meet him face to face?
I walked into the room. I slowly stepped up and suddenly my phone rang. Mr. Reynand came out of the room, caught me who just came in.
"Egem .... Ehem ...." Mr. Reynand cleared his throat.
I could only smile looking at him, revealing my white and neat rows of teeth.
"Just come?" he asked with an authoritative voice and eyes that stared intently at me. His face showed anger.
"I-yes Sir. Sorry bad luck."
"You come into my room" he said as he walked into the room. I followed him in.
"Sit down!" Mr. Reynan told me to sit in front of him and he said, "Sheryl, I dislike the most undisciplined employees. Today is your first day working as my secretary. I thought I'd get a good impression for the first time, but it turns out I was wrong."
"Sorry, sir," I said.
Mr. Reynand did not reply, adding instead his talk, "One more, I'd hate it if the employees here don't dress up. That's a sign they don't think about looks during work."
"Sorry again, sir." I bow to apologize.
"Yes, today I'm sorry. I'll have lunch outside."
"Yes, sir," I said slowly.
I immediately closed Mr. Reynand's door and stepped into my room. I sat down and took my phone. One missed call and one message from Kak Baruna.
"I just arrived. Sorry I didn't tell you when I left this morning."
I called Baruna back. Shortly after, the phone was answered.
"Hello brother, what are you doing?
"Yes, I also finished getting a lecture from the new director because it was too late" I lamented.
"His love."
"Aren't you mocking me?"
"Ha-ha-ha!"
"Where are you now?"
"At the hotel with Grandpa. Keep up the spirit, Sher."
"Yes, Brother."
"Yes, I'm going to start too."
"When are you home?" ask suddenly.
"Have you missed me? There hasn't been a day we haven't met."
"I-I ha-just asked, Brother. I-if Brother doesn't answer, that's okay" I replied as I patted the table on my finger nervously.
"Oh, I thought you missed me. I also went home the day after tomorrow. Yes, I want to start. You take good care of yourself."
"Yes Brother. Sorry to interrupt."
"No, Sher. I'm glad you called back."
"Yes, Brother. I'm turning the phone off."
"Yes, I'll call you back later,"
I ended my phone call.
Why am I asking when he's coming home, huh? He's got a big head, it's gonna be.
I took out the makeup pouch from inside the bag and started dressing up.
I hope Mr. Reynand doesn't comment on me after I get dressed.
While coolly applying lipstick, Mr. Reynand opened the door to his room to surprise me. Lipstick is messy because of it. The red color adorns most of the corners of my lips. I became a clown for a moment.
"Sheryl, make me some coffee. Don't be too sweet," he ordered a little hold back from laughing when he saw my face.
"Okay, sir," I said annoyed at the look on his face that would laugh. But he closed the door right back.
Aarrgghh shit! Why did he have to appear suddenly?
I picked up a piece of tissue and put the color of the lipstick out of place. Then step into the pantry room.
I took a cup and a small plate as a base, opened the storage cabinet and found a jar of black coffee and sugar.
"Then what should I do? How'this? I can't make coffee. How much?" I muttered to myself. There's no one there.
Wendy an office girl suddenly enters the pantry room. I looked towards him.
"Sheryl's sister, why is she here?" ask Wendy wonder.
I noticed a small smile looking at him. "Bad bag, Wen. I was told to make a cup of coffee for Mr. Reynand. But I can't. You taught me, yes," I asked.
"Oh .. Coffee for Mr. Reynand is easy, Ma'am. Mama Dena used to make it like this. Look yes, Miss Sheryl."
Wendy then practices how to make coffee drinks for Mr. Reynand. He put two small spoons of coffee together with a spoonful of sugar into a cup and poured it with hot water.
"That's it, Wen?" my many.
"Yes, Mother. Surprised, Sheryl's mother, like a rich kid, doesn't understand how to make coffee."
I just smiled in response to Wendy's words because I never revealed myself in this office. I just wish I was known by Sheryl's personality all along.
"Yes sorry yes, Wen made you bother. Thank you very much, yes. I'll buy you lunch."
"Okay, Miss Sheryl. I will gladly wait."
I nodded in response to his words, immediately bringing the cup of coffee into Mr. Reynand's room.
Hopefully this suits his taste.
"This is sir, the coffee" I said, putting it on the table.
"Yes. You can go" replied Mr. Reynand, who was still focusing on the various files on his desk.
I stepped out of the room and sat back at my desk. It was so bad to curse that guy. I made coffee but I don't know thanks. Not even looking at my face.
Aarrggh! A very annoying morning.
