We had just got off the plane when Baruna's phone suddenly rang. He grabbed his phone from inside the small bag he was carrying, answering a phone call.
"Hello, Dad!"
Baruna's greeting sounded in my ear as she picked up her phone. It must be Anton's father who called him.
"waiting? You guys picked us up?!"
Baruna's voice sounded shocked. I then looked towards him. Seeing the surprised face. Apparently, he got a surprise. My husband turned his head back and gave me his phone.
"Your mother wants to talk" he said.
"Mama?" my forehead was wrinkled to hear Mama calling Baruna, but I obviously heard her saying hello to Anton's father, not Mama.
Despite my doubts, I grabbed her phone. Answer the call of Mama. "Hello, Ma."
"Sheryls! Mama, Papa, and Kak Reza come and pick you up at the airport." Mom's voice sounded crisp.
"Pick up?" I pulled my husband's phone and saw the caller's name. It's actually Anton's father's number on the screen.
Baruna, who understood my confusion, said, "They're all picking us up, honey."
"Oh." Only that word is spoken. A second later, put the phone screen back on my earlobe.
"Mama's with Om Anton's family and Aunt Meri?"
"Yes! With this day off, we plan to make a small party to welcome newlyweds who just returned to honeymoon" said My Mom.
"Fest again?" I was really surprised this time. "That's right! We just arrived in the country and you guys already want to make a small party for us."
"It doesn't matter, does it? All the families will gather in a feast to be held at your in-laws' residence."
I turned towards Baruna with a frown, then whispered very softly, "Darling, do you know this?"
"What?" tanyanya's confused.
"Small party."
Hearing my answer, Baruna grabbed her phone again and asked Mama to give her phone to Anton's father.
"Dad, we just arrived. Let us unwind" he protested.
However, Anton's father's answer seemed unsatisfactory to Baruna. My husband's face still looked bad until he ended his call and put his phone back in his bag. His hand held my wrist again.
"Dad said what?" manya curious.
"Already done. They have prepared everything at home. If you're tired and don't want to go to a party, that's okay, let me. It's like a Thanksgiving."
I nodded in understanding. We keep going in tandem. It didn't feel like we were standing in front of the whole family waiting, welcoming the two of us. Me and Baruna were just shaking off the grin of seeing how complete our family was.
"Sheril …. Holy hooch! Parting with you for a week leaves Mama half dead. Mama never lost her daughter for so long" said Mama, holding me so tightly, while I smiled at her words. He spoils me too much.
"Ah, if Baruna wants to stay with Mama and Papa," he added, immediately taking off his embrace. Mama's eyes glanced sharply at her daughter-in-law who was busy chatting with her parents.
"Rin, your daughter's been somebody's wife. You better let her live wherever her husband wants." Papa patted Mama's shoulder to remind her to let us go.
"Yes, Ma. Baruna's an only child. He cannot leave his Father and Mother" Reza added.
I saw Mama sighing slowly. Staring out at Ashraf with a slightly disappointed look. "Why don't they just make it again, Baruna's sister so as not to be lonely" he said.
"Hush! Don't you talk so much!" Papa reprimanded, reminding Mama not to talk. "At this age they are more suited to having grandchildren, not children, Rin!"
"Yes, Sher. You'd better work hard with your husband." Reza added as he was grinning, but a slightly faint whimper. I think I miss my brother very much.
As for their words, I might have listened to the same sentence more than twenty times already. Who wants to delay? I'm quite ready to have a baby at my age now. Let's see it later.
"I won't delay it, Ma," I said, as the mangosteen.
Mama and Kak Reza finally stopped talking, when Mother Meri approached and hugged me tightly.
"How was your honeymoon?" tanyakanya.
"Fun," I answered briefly.
"I'm sorry your father-in-law told Baruna to come home as soon as possible. He loves his business more than his own son."
Mother Meri's reply left me flabbergasted for a moment. Just last night it was like I was grumbling dislike and venting it out on my husband because Anton's father forced us to go home fast. Now Mother Meri who even apologized to me.
"It's-it's okay, Bun. The honeymoon can be anytime. We can plan it again later," I replied, calming his mind.
"Thank God. Mother thinks you'll be angry about this. Lucky my son has an understanding wife." Mother Meri's smile was painted on her beautiful face.
"Not really. Mother is too praising," I said not tasty.
After that, Mother Meri brought herself closer to Mama. They also chatted. I don't know what Mother Meri talked about with my Mama. Ah, let it go. I don't want to interfere.
Baruna and I got into Anton's dad's SUV. My family got into their car. We left the airport for Ashraf's residence.
An hour later, we entered the spacious courtyard of the Asyraf family residence. This is the first time I've set foot as a daughter-in-law in this family. This heart kept pounding uncharacteristically, very quickly and making it a little awkward.
Staying or staying is not the same as staying with them for long periods of time. I don't know what will happen in the future, nobody knows. I'm afraid they'll be disappointed to know me inside out and not what they expected.
Anton's father and Mother Meri got out of the car first. Baruna opened the front door of her car, took me down.
"Welcome to our home, Hon!" baruna said so sweet.
I replied with a nod while smiling. My gaze instantly circulated. Just set foot, suddenly aghast and stopped stepping. A white sedan is parked there. A car I know very well. A director's car Pradipta.
Why is he here?
Baruna seemed to understand the way I looked at the sedan. He immediately grabbed my hand and grasped it tightly, almost squeezing a pinch.
"What are you thinking? He's my family too. It's only natural to come to our residence." Baruna looked at me gently.
I gasped at Baruna's sudden action. His words seemed to insinuate me. My eyes turned towards my husband.
"No. I'm just shocked. It has been a long time since I met him. In fact, he wasn't even present at our wedding, was he?"
"Yes. Incidentally, there was an important meeting to be attended in Korea. Because Dad can't come, Rey takes his place. You don't think no. The man is not present because there are still feelings for you or hate us. At that time Rey was busy with work," explained Baruna.
I let out a sigh of relief. Maybe I have too many negative thoughts. Reynand couldn't have intentionally not been present at our event. My husband and Reynand made up, even before my marriage and Reynand were annulled.
